Billed as a luxury hotel, the Equinox is a shadow of its storied past. We asked for help with luggage; no bellman. We asked for help with restaurants; no concierge on Friday or Saturday. We asked to eat at the hotel; only the tavern is open. But the website says all your restaurants are open!; we haven’t updated The website. Three lightbulbs in our room are burnt out; we will get to that. For over $600 per night, management and Marriott should hang their heads in shame. On the plus side, disgruntled guess gather to complain, so we have met some nice people. We will be checking out early.

We've been careful with critical reviews, especially in these times. But we do feel this review might be helpful to others. We've just spend two nights at the Equinox and were terribly disappointed. On the upside, the staff in the Marsh Tavern were wonderful. But the overall management of this property leaves much to be desired. The property is not only very dated, but in poor condition. Landscaping is not maintained, pot holes in the parking lot, peeling paint in many areas, and service at a minimum. We couldn't regulate our A/C and despite promises from the front desk that they would "send someone up", no one ever showed. My wife waited two hours and finally inquired again. The desk clerk said it was fixed and temp would slowly return to normal. That never happened and we spend a second uncomfortable night. We understood that the spa would not be available, but we were nonetheless charged a $39 "resort fee" for each night! We're experienced travelers and I'm surprised this property has a Marriott flag on it. We visited the Taconic Hotel down the street and they'll get our future business and we'll no longer rely on the Marriott flag indicating a better level of condition and service.

We booked a special rate room and it was not good. The king bed had the worst mattress I have ever slept on. And after my terrible night's sleep I missed both the exercise class I had book and my time in the pool -- which has to be booked in advance. The room had a small wardrobe that tipped into the room and the floor creaked when you walked on it and, due to Covid, no room service or housekeeping. And they still charge a RESORT FEE! What for? The locker room and spa area are closed and spa services are meager. The only restaurant open has only mediocre food. Such a shame as we have enjoyed coming here for years. But, there are two other hotels right nearby, the Taconic and the Reluctant Panther so we will stay elsewhere in Manchester from now on. Sad.

Hotel was very understaffed on a holiday weekend. When we tried to check in they had a power outage. No generator so not elevators. They had a trainee on the front desk who was doing her best under the circumstances. No help with luggage until they found a maintence worker. We to breakfast and understaffed again. Got our own coffee. Food was good but all served in plastics. Many bees when dining outside.Hallways were not clean. Hotel Room was clean. Also had smoke alarm go off and no guidance from hotel. Not a level 6 Marriott.

Beautiful location, the grounds were great. The pool was very well managed, they made it very easy to make a reservation. It was great to see that they disinfect everything between pool reservations. The General Manager Mark was very nice and seemed to always be on on scene taken care of the property and guests. Also, Ben the food and beverage manager was doing everything as well. The rest of the staff was very accommodating as well.
