I came back to the Reluctant Panther in Manchester for a repeat stay and adored it both times!! Their room amenities are wonderful, with gas fireplace, marble bathroom and luxurious jetted tub. In-room breakfast (due to covid-19 restrictions) was perfect & delicious. I love the history of this boutique inn, and everyone on site is a pleasure to meet. There are so many cookie-cutter impersonal large chain hotels in Manchester, but this is the one boutique spot that gets everything right. If a beautiful view is important then I’d ask about it at booking - I just wanted the wonderful amenities, so that’s exactly what I got. I felt incredibly refreshed and well cared for after my stay, and hope to return very soon.

We stumbled upon the Reluctant Panther while looking for a romantic weekend getaway in southern Vermont. We were not disappointed. This cute inn has 20 rooms and a restaurant that caters to guests who want a quiet weekend away from the stress of daily life. the rooms are decorated in a classic colonial style. Ours had a memory foam bed with a fireplace which was a nice touch. The restaurant serves inspired cuisine and world class. The free breakfast was also very tasty. The service is excellent!

With my twin girls home from college since March due to pandemic, I felt the need to escape with my wife for a weekend get-a-way, just the two of us. Having been to Manchester on business with Vermont Country Store, i searched Tripadvisor VT, and came across this little gem. The Reluctant Panther & Restaurant surpassed my expectations. COVID-19 guidelines were strictly adhered to, from reservations to checkout. Staff was courteous, and extremely informative on our arrival. We were even upgraded to a larger suite, with fireplaces in the bedroom and bath. They served hot gourmet breakfast, delivered to your room at the time of your choice every morning. We dined in their restaurant the second night, which also adhered to COVID guidelines, with tables spaciously separated. The chef more than accommodated my wife's healthy diet, with Mediterranean influenced menu, and appreciating staff, delivering an unforgettable experience. Walking distance to town, restaurants, galleries, shops, outlet stores, and nearby hiking, The Reluctant Panther, was a true weekend "escape" from "Pandemic reality" for my wife and I. We'll be back...

Recently stayed at the Reluctant Panther Inn and had dinner on the evening we arrived. What a lovely place! The accommodations were very roomy, cozy and comfortable. Due to Covid concerns we opted out of housekeeping services and we were respectfully offered plenty of towels and toiletries to accommodate the length of our stay. The inn staff are all so friendly, helpful and welcoming. The general manager Lucretia greeted us and the front desk staff escorted us to our accommodations. Dinner in the dining room was fabulous as was the service. Our waiter Tom greeted us by saying "we're glad you're here"! The Chef, Sigal, chatted with us briefly before we ordered short ribs and scallops. Both were excellent! We finished by sharing the trio sorbet accompanied by lemon shortbread cookies. Sigal is a fabulous chef! This was our second stay and would definitely visit again!

I truly cannot say enough about the Reluctant Panther! It's an incredibly special place. We eloped there in March and wouldn't have changed a single thing. It was magical! I don't know how much they're paying Morgan, but it's not enough! She was so responsive over email and assisted with every detail of our special weekend. Everyone we met throughout the weekend (Charlie, Bonnie, Pam, and restaurant staff) were so welcoming and kind. We can't wait to visit again ASAP and cannot recommend Reluctant Panther more highly!
