Our family enjoyed a two week stay at the Wildflower Inn. We have been coming here all seasons for 28 years, Under new ownership and management, the inn is thriving. The energy from the staff is palpable. Gracious, kind and knowledgable. The restaurant is excellent be it lunch, dinner, or desserts!! And the bar staff is fun and have a great vibe. We plan on returning several times this winter and again in summer and fall. Skiing at Burke is 5 minutes away. And there are trails to explore on the property by fat bike, snowshoes, or cross country ski. Family friendly/dog friendly. Thank you to the superb management team.

We stayed at the inn in order to attend services for a recently deceased family member. We were treated like family by Foster, Dan, and Caroline. Wildflowers in abundance, a beautiful pool, excellent location on kingdom trails - highly recommend.

This place used to be an absolute heaven - everything was so welcoming and unreally warm, so you forget the rest of your life! Looks like the inn owners surrendered this absolute gem to the corporate world - game change! just check the new Corporate America website -cold! prices are up! the kids loved the free cookies and crackers and cheese in the afternoon -plenty were provided from local farmers near the kids' playroom - no more! if you want this fun treat for your kids, is now $20 extra - and how is that done? ask the kids if they paid for it when the grab the cookie? so sad! so sad the innkeepers sold their precious inn to some corporate ass - why? I am crying!

Response from Sean Dowd, Owner at Wildflower Inn

Hello GW - very sorry you did not have a good experience at the Inn. We don't charge for afternoon snack, so I am not sure what happened there. We have updated the web site since your visit - the one you are referring to is the old one, I hope you find this one more to your liking. The new owners are individuals that all fell in love with the Wildflower while visiting over the last 20 years. It is a truly special place and we hope you give it another try.

This place is Vermont turned up to 11. Located in Lyndonville, it's stunningly beautiful but not yet overdeveloped or overrun by tourism like Stowe. Still plenty of local dining and little shops, just not overwhelmed. The gardens are perfectly taken care of, the service is wonderful, the views are a postcard, and the attention to detail is outstanding. They address so many little touches that add up to a terrific overall experience. Things like fresh cookies and hot cider in the afternoon (GF available by request!), or a basket of warm blankets to grab when sitting outside, or catering to the terrific mountain biking scene in the area ( Kingdom Trails). It's actually more like a mini resort than an inn, with so many activities to do from pickle-ball to tennis to guided bike tours. The rooms are clean, well kept, and comfy and have everything you would want. You won't find marble in the bathrooms or the type of luxury finishes in a Ritz-Carlton, but it's not missed and not necessary. Be aware- no TV in the rooms, on purpose, but WiFi is strong. The on-site dining at Junipers is fantastic (breakfast included) and has a focus on gluten free with locally sourced meats and veggies, many of which are from the inn's farm and garden (eggs from their own hens!). The Pokeessy Lounge on-site bar is great with a ton of local craft beers and house made cocktails with a nice outdoor area and great views. Good place to bring kids as well with a nice pool, playground, games, and tons of grounds to run around on. It's everything you love about Vermont, all in one place. We will be back, again and again!

I felt duped by this place - the setting and main building are beautiful and the little pub behind the bike shop is great. But the back of carriage house building (that you don't see from the road) is dilapidated, The room was not as it appears on the website - it was dark even in the middle of the day and was dated. The small deck needed cleaning and I had to ask for a chair so I could sit and enjoy the day. Bike rental prices were ridiculous so bring your own to enjoy the many trails. Breakfast in the restaurant was fine as was the service. I would not stay here again because I don't like being duped. Plus it is way overpriced.

Our family of 5 have been going to Wildflower Inn for at least the last 2 decades. We usually meet our extended family here for our annual get-together. We ski, hike, mountain bike, play board games, laugh and eat. There is never a bad time or a dull moment. There is always something to do, either at the Inn or nearby. The Inn has a great trail system nearby for mountain biking, cross country skiing, hiking, or jogging. The bar is very relaxing and cozy with great views and diverse selection of drinks. The restaurant, Juniper's, has a wide variety of excellent dining. Jim and Mary, the owners, always have a ready smile and time to chat. The hosts, the wait staff, house keepers and all the other employees are very friendly and always accommodating. The rooms are cozy. We realize that the homes and rooms have been around for awhile. But it is always clean and welcoming. This has always been a winter tradition for us. We always eagerly anticipate our winter wonderland here. However, this year, we decided to come during the summer. We went during the July 4th weekend. Wow!! We have been missing out! I thought winter was fun here. I'm happy to report how wrong we were. Summer activities abound! There are many things to do for all ages. It was great to see little kids frolicking around the Inn. It reminds me of our family when we first started coming here. As a world traveler, with stays in various places in all continents (except Antarctica and Australia), Wildflower Inn is one of my favorite places to return to. It is truly a place to relax, refresh and re-charge. Thank you Jim and Mary for all that you do.

30 years ago to the day my wife and I spent our honeymoon at Wildflower and it was perfect. We returned this weekend for our anniversary with our three children and it was wonderful! Perfect New England inn experience. Breathtaking mountain views, relaxing atmosphere, delicious food and an attentive, caring staff. I feel relaxed and renewed as if I had two weeks away instead of just three days. Already looking forward to our next visit.

I stayed here for two nights and the location is fantastic! They serve good food for breakfasts and dinners. Also, the afternoon snacks are a real treat. You have to get there early if you want any cider. There is limited seating but sitting on the steps keeps you included in the group. The staff should learn what is posted in the office area and also what is around the area. When I ask them about something posted, the answer is always "I don't know". The wifi is really weak and my connection never stayed on. You will want to download movies or books since the internet is terrible here. The beds are comfortable but the rooms are small. The views from the main lodge are beautiful. This was my first ever experience staying at an Inn (or even a B&B) and I would definitely stay at an Inn (or B&B) again. It was a great first experience.

Stayed there for a biking weekend. Was perfectly adequate for that. Rooms are old and out dated, but sheets were fresh and rest of room was clean-ish, and that's fine for mountain biking. I can't imagine staying there for anything else. WiFi is iffy. No television. Exterior is bucolic. A bit of an ick factor with the owners.

Not sure what this reviewer really experienced as it was written 4 months after they supposedly stayed. If one reads the majority of our reviews you will see that this is not in line with the type of place we are and the level of service we provide.

This may be the place for you, it just was not my type of lodging. It’s a lodge in central Vermont. Beautiful view. Restaurant and bar are fine. Most of the people there were bikers, and fairly hard core. We thought we might try a day biking but our schedule did not allow. The accommodations were bare bones but adequate. Everything was a bit old. I’d recommend it for bikers and nature escape enthusiasts, for sure.
