The Inn is beautiful - from the gorgeous English pub with two sided fireplace adjoining a comfortable great room to the newly renovated charming and cozy bedrooms. There are plenty of places around the Inn to enjoy a cup of coffee and a good book or a glass of wine on a rainy day. The breakfasts were delicious and we had a private gourmet dinner for our family perfectly prepared by Mitch and meticulously served by Joel. Then down to the lake for a fire, drinks and roasted marshmallows. A perfect getaway!

My wife and I stayed at The Inn at Water's Edge for the first time as guests at my sister's wedding. She had stayed here several times previously and booked the entire Inn for her wedding party, friends and family.
Unfortunately, a major winter storm arrived on the weekend of the wedding. We decided to play it safe and travel to Vermont from New Jersey on Saturday, when the ceremony was scheduled. Our original stay was scheduled for Friday and Saturday, but Mitch and Joel were kind enough to allow us to stay Saturday and Sunday night. Most of the wedding party arrived a day early on Thursday, so they departed Sunday morning, allowing us to have the entire Inn to ourselves.
To say that the Inn is magnificent would be an understatement. The entrance leads to a large living room and fireplace, backed by a full service bar. The dining room is down the hall to the left, along with another beautifully decorated living room area. Board games , such as chess, Scrabble, and a deluxe version of Clue are available for your enjoyment. A fresh pot of coffee is always ready in the main living room, along with a selection of cookies and pastries.
Mitch is a highly skilled gourmet chef, and his breakfasts are incredibly tasty. Our first experience with his cooking, however, was the post-wedding dinner. Joel greeted us at the door upon our return from the church with celebratory glasses of champagne, and a table full of mouth-watering hors d'oeuvres awaited us in the living room.
The dinner was out of this world. My wife had an amazing steak au poivre, and I had some delicious almond crusted mahi mahi. Truly a culinary experience like no other.
The breakfast the following morning was absolute perfection. Blueberry pancakes with bacon and eggs, fluffy french toast, and eggs benedict were a few of Mitch's gourmet creations.. Some of the best breakfasts we've ever had at a b and b.
The following night, with the Inn all to ourselves, our hosts were kind enough to light a fire in the living room. We both had a craving for some chardonnay, and a simple text brought Joel out to serve us a glass at the bar. The kindness and hospitality of Mitch and Joel was an important part of the enjoyment we experienced. We cannot recommend the Inn at Water's Edge highly enough. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a stay at this magnificent inn.

My husband and Myself with our very good friend needed to escape for a few days and prayed we picked the right place!

We couldn’t believe how lucky we were the minute we walked in the door and were greeted by Joel. We were early, but we still were made to feel like we just walked into our home away from home immediately. I remember thinking we will be back again before we even checked in.

We had the Tuesday night meal created by Chef Mitch which was delicious and our breakfasts also made by Chef Mitch which were inventive and tasty as well.

We loved everything about this Inn from the living room , fire by the lake, wines by the glass or bottle and the attention to our every need.

Many thanks to Connie, Joel and Mitch,....we can’t wait to come back again and hopefully be able to sit at that marvelous bar you have!

The Inn at Waters Edge was beautifully renovated with spacious, comfortable rooms and lovely common areas that were available for guests to use. Joel and Mitch were excellent hosts and breakfast each morning was delicious. There are lots of outdoor activities in the area and several good restaurants nearby in Ludlow. We enjoyed inclusive use of the inn's canoes to go paddling on the lake. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

My husband, son and I had the pleasure of staying at this gorgeous Inn for 4 nights. Our two rooms were so beautifully appointed with comfortable pillows and beds. Each of the bathrooms were tiled so elegantly with plenty of counter space. We enjoyed using the 2 canoes and kayaks during our stay on the placid and calming Lake Echo. Across the street from the Inn, Mitch, showed us his hens that lay the fresh eggs every morning for the scrumptious breakfasts. They are gorgeous in color and well worth the walk over to see them! We had the pleasure of having Mitch prepare 2 gourmet dinners that were 4 courses each evening with Joel as the perfect assistant ! The bar and gathering room is magnificent with plenty of games and books to read in front of the double sided fireplace. We were only an hour on our drive back home when we all said we missed the Inn and Mitch and Joel. They are truly the perfect Innkeepers!

The Inn was beautifully updated. Keeping the charm of it’s original design. Mitch and Joel were extremely attentive and breakfast was like a 5 star hotel. The different eating areas made it easy to accommodate the kids. The private walk way to Echo lake was peaceful, opening up to a fantastic view of the lake. The lake is crystal clear. There is plenty of room to sit and enjoy the view. It was shallow enough for the kids to play and swim near the shoreline without worrying constantly. It also makes for an easy access getting into the kayaks or canoes. I never kayaked before but this lake was so calm, I had no fear. My 8 yr old grand daughter was able to use her own kayak! The Loons were seen and heard for the first time also. I will never forget them calling to each other. We spent each evening down at the fire pit just soaking in the relaxing view. A great end to fun filled days. Due to COVID not all shops/ restaurants were open but there is deli within walking distance with a great selection. We also hiked Buttermilk Falls and enjoyed the cool water pools. A quick trip to the neighboring Okemo resort for a coaster ride was also a highlight for the grandchildren. Spectacular place in every way! Plan on making it a yearly family vacation spot!

Our extended family booked the entire inn for a vacation week, and even topping the many 5 star reviews, the hosts went above and beyond making sure we had an outstanding stay. Thank you Joel and Mitch. The breakfasts were different every morning (both sweet and savory) and Mitch baked a delicious special birthday cake and happily prepared specialty cocktails on our schedule. Everything was spotless and clean. The rooms and large common areas were very nicely appointed and decorated by the newer owners.

We were there during the less busy summer season and very easily traveled to the Billings national historic farm and the Calvin Coolidge birthplace (well worth visits). The Simon Pierce handblown glass workshop and store/ restaurant is also highly rated and recommended.

Needing some downtime, we spent a long weekend enjoying the Fall foliage and visiting the area with friends. The inn was welcoming, cozy and relaxing. We were pointed in the right direction upon our arrival to a nearby local shop with a deli that makes great sandwiches and you can buy bait for fishing. Kayaking on the lake and a campfire later in the evening before heading inside for a cocktail fireside was the perfect end to our first travel day. The inn is the perfect central location for so many enjoyable activities and experiences. The innkeepers are very knowledgeable and engaging giving the right amount of guidance while respecting the need for quiet downtime. You will not be disappointed!

Set in the beautiful mountains of Vermont and adjacent to a wonderful lake Waters Edge would make Bob Newhart jealous. Mitch and Joel made our stay the perfect getaway as we enjoyed decadent culinary sensations each day while only traveling minutes to the Okemo Valley Golf Club. I can not wait to return to this utterly charming yet sophisticated Inn.

This Inn is one of the best properties I've ever stayed it! It is beyond beautiful and run by the best people. From the moment we arrived we were greeted at the front door and immediately felt welcomed. Our corner room was so cute, bright and sunny. Breakfast every morning was delicious and the setting was perfect. We grabbed a bottle of wine at the bar and sat on the dock to enjoy the sunset. The owners were nice enough to start a fire at the fire pit for us as well. We went to dinner at the Homestyle restaurant which was amazing and had drinks at Main + Mountain Cocktail bar. We also explored Buttermilk falls and Saint Gaudens garden in Windsor. We had such a romantic weekend and can't wait to come back!
