My husband and I spent three nights at Saint Joseph’s Dwelling Place, a cozy, comfortable, clean and quiet retreat in a beautiful location. Having a (shared) kitchen was great (there’s a grocery store a few miles away in Ludlow), as well as a shared living room with many religious and spiritual books. It is a short drive to Weston where the Weston Priory is located as well as the Vermont Country Store, the Weston Theater Company and the charm of Weston in general. Catherine Joanne, the host/innkeeper, is so welcoming and friendly. Where else would an innkeeper offer to share some of her fresh baked cherry pie with you?!

A lovely retreat house, comfortable and cozy. Welcoming and quiet, so very peaceful. There is a sitting room with shelves of Spiritual books and many other novels to choose from. Windows overlooking the magnificent property. A sweet kitchen with anything you need to make a meal or just savor a cup of tea. ( you provide the nourishment )The grounds are expansive, well kept and have lovely spaces to sit or meander. If you desire to venture out, Weston Priory is minutes away as is the Vermont Country Store.

This was my third stay at Saint Joseph's Dwelling Place ... and the first with two of us, my spouse and I. We loved it there. Catherine Joanne is a gracious host, the bed, room, kitchen, study and whole home fed our souls. We loved going on nearby hikes and taking in the beauty.

All the poetry of the 23rd psalm is active here: green pastures, still (and flowing) waters and definitely restoring of the soul. YOu may see lambs feeding on the pasture, fall colors at their most amazing, silent snow, or the garden being planted. Most of all, you will be surrounded by thepeace that surpasses all understanding in Catherine and Becky.

My college age son and I spent 2 evenings at St Joseph's. We both loved it. The decor reminded me of my grandparents home in NH. We felt very comfortable there. It was extremely peaceful and made us feel at home. The kitchen and sitting room were both so inviting. We appreciated the opportunity to stay there.

we were lucky enough to stay during Christmas week and ski at Okemo. The home has all the features needed for a comfortable stay except for TVs. I highly recommend bringing your Laptops if you need visual entertainment at night or missing your fav shows. they have great WIFI. Totally cost effective but you do need to drive everywhere.

Glancing through previous reviews, I noticed yours, Willythewestiedog. Just want to let you know that we have installed cable and smart TVs since your visit, so you can view all your favorite shows and stream as well. We are now offering week-, month-, or season-long rentals for the ski season at amazing prices. Thanks for staying with us last Christmas! Hope to see you again in 2020! Catherine Joanne

The Dwelling Place is a perfect place to get away from the worries and cares of every day life. The rooms are kept in meticulous fashion by Becky and the accessibility to the kitchen facilities provides you with an option to eating an expensive meal out. You can cook up a lovely bowl of pasta and then curl up by the fireplace and enjoy the serene tranquility that surrounds you in the great room. The Dwelling Place's proximity to Ludlow, Okemo, Ben & Jerry's and the Western Priory (to name a few) provide you with a plethora of opportunities to explore the beauty of Vermont. Sometimes, you just need a place to hear yourself think. The Dwelling Place fits that description to a tee, whether it be winter, spring summer or fall. Can't wait to return!

The Dwelling Place is a lovingly cared for site with sheep grazing in the field. I enjoyed the home-iness of the house. The bedrooms were comfortable. The rooms, kitchen, bathrooms were spotless. A wonderful place to stay in itself. A plus because of its proximity to both Weston Priory and the towns of Ludlow and Weston.
