We took a chance and visited Jay early this season, doing weekend in mid-December. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate like we'd hoped (light rain Saturday, but skiable, blizzard like conditions Sunday - not skiable), but it was still a great family weekend. The kids loved the conditions on Saturday despite a little rain, and we all enjoyed the waterpark at the end of the day. It was fairly quiet at the hotel overall, but still fun in the bar at the end of the night while the kids watched a movie. The lodge feels like an old school ski property, which is actually nice. It's not luxury by any standard, but that's not what we were looking for. Clean, nice, and great staff. Local beers on tap, good food, and lots to do if/when skiing isn't an option. We'll go back for sure.

This is the best place in the East Coast. The service is A+ in terms of authentic desire to help. The rooms are fine - everything you need is there. The convenience is incomparable. We love it and want to return yearly. We just wish the food was better. But as they say on numerous promotional materials, "if you are not here for the mountain, you are not here". So, the crappy food is just an unforced error that doesn't lose the game. Go to Jay Peak Tram Haus Lodge. Wait!! Dont go. We dont want it to get too crowded. It is a gem.

I booked a splash and stay for my daughter's 10th birthday. I was a bit leery, as my family and I stayed at the Hotel Jay in November and had a bad experience. We had a wonderful time @ the Tram Haus, Jorge at the front desk was wonderful and very helpful. Also, Jesse the valet was fantastic! I've stayed in many hotels and the service these two gentlemen provided was top notch!

So first, if the slopes close at 4 and check in isn't till 5 or 6 or whenever you finally have the room ready, what are tired snow sliders supposed to do for hours. Almost like that is on purpose so you have to go sit at a bar or restaurant or the waterpark and spend more money. And then second, no one here even cares that you have to sit around waiting for your room for hours. Like they are doing you a favor by cleaning it and getting it ready. And then my favorite part is the first thing you see front and center when you finally get in your room, is the tip envelope. (My favorite tip to leave in situations like this is "don't eat yellow snow" and it's so fitting being a ski resort!) The skiing was alright. Not the greatest weather and we all know Jay doesn't like to make their own snow much, so the trails were quite rough in spots. And a few of the lifts were down for weather or maintenance or whatever excuse they are using for the day. I left the trip feeling like Jay was going under. With a little research when I got home I find Jay is in receivership and desperately trying to sell. You could tell! Not a well run place. Needs new owners who know how to run a mountain and actually care about it!

It felt like a soft opening. Nobody was accommodating or professional. We had more success buying our meals food from the canteen than venturing out for food. The food was bland and the menus were so unvaried it was utterly disappointing.

The ski lessons staff were rude. Once I had paid for 2 full day lessons, I was told I would need to pay additional since my son would "definitely be going on a ski lift." While not sure why that is not part of the lesson fees, I obliged only to find out later they never took him up on the lifts. When I asked for a refund, they said they couldn't process it since they already had cashed out the register, at 2 PM. When I told them they needed to figure out how to get me back the money it became a full blown war, with some crunchy, honey in my hair dreadlocks girl telling me how awful I was for demanding a refund for a service never provided.

In short, I would never drive this distance again for such horrible service. Further, the weather was literally 2 degrees most days but perhaps only 20-30% of the park had any snow on the trails. Utter disappointment.

There aren't many options in walking distance to the slopes. So we picked this one. As soon as we walked in the room we started hearing loud stomping and banging from above. The room was nice enough, but the noise was unbearable. The walls are thin and the floors are even thinner. I'm not sure I've ever stayed at a hotel where you heard so much from other guests. There are a ton of children just roaming/running/screaming up and down the hallways. And if they aren't in the hallways then they're probably doing that in the rooms so you'll be hearing them either way. Front desk staff was nice, but they seem to have nothing to work with to move people or deal with the problems. The restaurants in the hotel (and base area in general) are pretty basic. Not all were open all the time and when they are open the food is just OK. This place definitely caters to a driving family destination with young children. So the place is run down and nobody cares if your kids wreck it more. The food is simple and options limited. Overall I would not stay here again nor recommend anyone without kids staying here unless your tolerance for noise is much higher than ours.

Wish I could go less than 1 star. What a horrible experience, and I haven't even stayed there. I was booking a room, but when I asked to get a handicapped room, was told that I would have to upgrade to a more expensive room. When I spoke to management about it, all they want to do is argue with you. To bad it is for a conference, and I have to stay there. These people are nothing but rude. Will never recommend to anyone ever, and will never stay there by my own choice.

We drove 8 hours to go to Jay Peak after hearing about how amazing it was for families. I have to say it is rather large and a little daunting when you are driving up there. We arrived early and our room was not ready so my husband went skiing and the kids and I checked out the waterpark. The valet service was super friendly and kept our car upfront so my husband could get his ski stuff and I could get our water park accessories. Our room was ready by 3:45. Last night our daughter came down with a 102 fever. There was no possible way she could ski today. The extremely sympathetic front desk woman worked with me and found me a hospital and refunded my money for today. I was blown away by her generosity and kindness. We will be making a return trip and staying at the Traum house. It should be noted that my husband enjoyed the easy on and off skiing ability to the lodge. The tunnels between the resort meant that we didn't have to go outside in the cold to get to dinner.

After reading the reviews for Jay Peak we decided to go at the first snow of the season. We decided on the lodge as it was the newest hotel and not on top of the waterpark. We are a family of four and booked a moutainview suite on the top floor. The view was spectacular. The room was clean and nice. Very comfortable for a family of 4. Its a little bit of a walk in the underground tunnel to the waterpark but its a little quieter side of the resort. The mountain seems awesome. Only a few runs open because of the lack of snow (we went on 11-22). I am told its some of the best snowboarding in the east coast. The food exceeded my expectations at all of the restaurants. For the money spent it is an unbelievable bang for the buck.

Hockey tournament visit. A drunken man without children was in the water park. Man fell down stairs spilling his drink only to get immediately re-served. Man was asking kids if they could help him with his float. Asked one woman if she was traveling without her husband. Parents complained. Security’s response was: “well we didn’t see him fall down the stairs and anyway, I’ve seen way worse!” The man allegedly then tried to forcefully enter a guests room and bother a family inside. The father got him out of room and police were called. Really expected more from Jay Peak on this one. Lackluster......

Hi- Our room was a 2 bedroom suite that had an additional pull out sofa bed. I believe the water park and ski tickets were included in the price of the lodging. I am not sure if the is a two day minimum stay requirement.
