A wonderful getaway. We came for my birthday, and Suzanne's great attention to detail made it very special. Complete with homemade cake and champagne! The breakfast was so delicious, we plan to recreate it at home. Beautiful house, lovely location right off the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, so a great spot for a run or bike ride through picturesque countryside. We definitely plan to return!
My wife and I had a great romantic weekend at the B&B. Suzanne made us feel welcome and was very attentive to anything we needed. We stayed in the blue room and had a wonderful time sitting on the outside porch in the evening especially watching a little fox that came across the back lawn. Suzanne fixed a wonderful breakfast that was as visually appealing as it was delicious. I am so glad we decided to stay at the Governor's House. It was a refreshing trip in a perfect surrounding.
My wife and I had a great romantic weekend package at this B&B. We stayed in the Governor's room, which is one of the larger rooms and it was comfortable and spacious. It. even had a fireplace. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and Suzanne, the owner and hostess, gave us a chilled bottle of sparkling apple juice instead of champagne since we don't drink. She even baked us a cake. I looked in most of the rooms and I liked the Governor's room, which is in the back of the house and the garden annex room the best. The breakfasts were also good-sized portions and delicious. Suzanne also had plenty of tips of things to do in the area. I've stayed at lot of places and written quite a few reviews and I highly recommend staying here.
This is a lovely and historic building with many amenities. Suzanne cooked up a storm at breakfast with delicious selections that changed daily. My room was immaculate and overlooked a scenic vista. I was staying with Suzanne during a rough week when I lost my father. She was so kind and helpful as I went through my grieving process. I can't thank her enough for her gracious hospitality.
Eloping at the Governor's House was without a question the best decision myself and my now husband could have made. We are so grateful for the exceptional experience and care that Suzanne provided for us in this beautiful immaculately kept home, and have very special memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Suzanne knows how to create a care-free elopement where absolutely every detail was taken care of for us and executed with grace. From the beautifully appointed room with the four poster canopy bed and the decanter of sherry awaiting us, to the gorgeous bouquet she made me, to an incredible dinner and wedding cake made by Suzanne, and so much more, the experience was perfect from start to finish. Not to mention, there was a spa tub with jets and boutique bath products that amplified an experience of luxurious self-indulgence. As vegans, she not only accommodated our food choices but succeeded in blowing us out of the water with her culinary skills. The dinner and breakfasts were phenomenal. It's also worth noting that the night before our intended arrival we had four feet of snow that delayed us by a day. Suzanne took this delay in stride and helped calm my nerves, arranging a series of backup plans so that no matter when our road was eventually plowed, we knew we'd be able to arrive and have the wedding experience we wanted. We arrived to her charming and beautifully kept mansion, received a warm welcome, and then after settling in we were married in front of the beautiful grand old fireplace by an officiant named Pixie who, though we had never met before, made sure to take a moment to get to know us and then led a beautiful ceremony that we will never forget. It's worth mentioning that Suzanne also had an amazing capacity to balance both the safety needs required during this pandemic to protect everyone's health, with creating a warm, welcoming, and relaxing environment. If you're looking for a getaway in these very weird times, this is the perfect place to go. Suzanne and the Governor's house are true gems. We are already looking forward to returning for our anniversary next year. Note: We wanted to upload more photos of our experience but Trip Advisor kept uploading them as upside down. The moral of the story is that you've got to go experience it for yourself ;)…
