We're going to return this year for our third year at the Tyler Place. Our kids adore it and we love the mixture of family time and adult time. It's a simple concept- you love your kids but don't always love doing the things they do. From 8-1 your kids go to camp while you can

You likely heard that “magical” vacations happen in Florida. Well, we’ve been there done that and honestly, there’s nothing magical standing in long lines listening to crying all day from kids and adults. If you truly want a magical vacation then forget Florida, head to Vermont

How long are families usually on a waitlist before getting a spot at Tyler Place?
The specific timing is a question for the TP booking team. Depending on your flexibility with dates and location of cottage I think most people rarely wait more than a year. The age of your children and the other kids that week impact the bookings as well. Because TP does such an amazing job staffing the kids camps they ensure the right ratios are in place for each week.

Hi Charles! The Tyler Place has camp programs for infants through Senior Teens (which are teens entering 9th and 10th grade). After that, older teens can still come and enjoy the wide variety of adult activities (hikes, sports, classes, and excursions). You can read more about what to expect on our website under "Kids and Teens" on our website. While the resort is more geared toward families with younger children, there's plenty of activities and fun to be had for everyone. Hope this helps!

Yes you totally can decide when you want to use the caretakers. On days you decide to have your child with you, you can dine in the family dining room for breakfast and lunch or even ask in advance to have a picnic lunch packed for you.

The lake temperatures can vary A LOT during late May - early June. But thereare tons of activities on the lake, where you don't have to go in the lake. And, there are heated pools and hot tubs. Week 1 is great! An extra day, amazing people, and (I'm told) a bit more relaxed than other weeks.

Last year was our first year. I found that the dress was varied, from jeans and nicer shorts to a few skirts and sundresses. I brought a couple of skirts thinking I didn't want to be under dressed, but I actually felt a little overdressed a couple of times. It was a little chilly in the evenings (first week of September), so that also may have been why fewer sundresses were worn. I think as long as it's not beach/lake wear, you will be good. Maybe someone with experience in July can give you a better answer.

"Generally, the rates are more affordable further away from the Inn. It's still only about a 10 min walk, so don't be afraid of those units."
"talk to the wonderful people to figure out the right place for you. they know."
"look at the map!"
"There is a sheet that the resort can give you with detailed descriptions of each accommodation - ask for this if you're trying to pick one"
"you are given bikes to travel around the resort - - we loved that and used them daily/nightly."
