This was our second trip to Tyler Place and we could not be more delighted with everything about it. We have searched far and wide for similar experiences and there is simply no comparison. It really is like a summer camp with lots of really fun and like minded families. Our 4 year old begged to go back to “school” each evening and we had no guilt eating dinner each night with other grown-ups. The Tyler family is so welcoming and treat guests like old friends. The activity calendar is so varied and something for everyone with lots of sports and active outdoor adventures. The overall atmosphere encourages pushing comfort limits and highlights of our week included some light mountain climbing, lots of tennis and a triathlon. Accommodations are pristine in terms of cleanliness and housekeeping came every morning while we are at breakfast. I would describe the cabins as “church-camp chic”. Very comfortable and part of the vibe. For what you get in terms of quality and inclusives, the rate is a steal especially in early season. The child activity counselors are a great mix of local and internationally and programming exceeds anything we have ever experienced at a resort or daycare. They truly take care of everything. We have nothing but positive feedback on our past two years of visits and look forward to many more years of fun!

This year was my family's first year at the Tyler Place. I was NERVOUS about it, for a few reasons: 1. My kids are picky and do not like very many kids programs. 2. I am an introvert and the thought of staying around a lot of the same people all week and not just doing my own thing all the time felt a a little scary. 3. I genuinely enjoy spending time with my kids, and I was worried the schedule did not build in enough family time. Fast forward to AFTER we spent a week at the Tyler Place and I can honestly say: 1. My kids had a BLAST and loved every minute of the group activities. 2. I was able to be as social as I wanted without feeling imposed upon. The group activities like dodgeball, kickball, trivia night, kayaking, and (unofficial) poker night made forming connections with the other guests easy for my personalities. 3. I had GREAT family time with my kids AND I came home truly rested and feeling like I had a good vacation. This place is amazing.

2021 was our third year at the Tyler Place. My wife and I are joined by our two adult children and their families. Each year, I wonder if the our experience will be as magical as prior year's, and we have never been disappointed. We will return in 2022. Others write that memories are made at the Tyler Place - and that is certainly true. But this year, my 4-year-old grandson said it best when he said to his mother, “ Mom, I love the Tyler Place. Came we stay here forever?”

Close your eyes for a moment and picture yourself on gorgeous Lake Champlain sipping a glass of champagne with other adults while your children are paired with others their age throughout the morning and evenings. Then, imagine arriving to a dining room brimming with several wholesome and delectable entree options made from scratch and locally sourced whenever possible. After a full belly, top the night off with a competitive game of trivia with others? Why not! You'll arrive back to your own accommodations with your kids to kiss them goodnights unless they are really little and your parents' helper has already bathed and tucked them in. You'll awake the next morning ready to bike with your kids to drop them off for their morning activities then enjoy the amazing breakfast and lunch buffets and partake in numerous activities. From 1:30 to 5:30, you can choose to hang out at the pool, join in several family activities like fishing, hiking, and more, or perhaps you just want to nap back in your cabin. The best part of this vacation is you can choose what activities to do and not do, but you have many options while your children are recieving the best possible care. Personally, I traveled with my 4 and 20 month olds (yes 2 under 2) to Tyler Place. It was a dream come true and a tradition I want for us year after year. We had Barbara and Sarah helping us with our children while we had a week to finally catch our breath and enjoy each other as well as nature around us. We gained many friends and admittedly a few pounds from the great food. Our children also made huge developmental leaps in that short week. Our 20 month old can now say his name as he made several new friends who called him by name and he got to try new things out like taking a hayride, petting a pony, and jumping on a trampoline. Our 4 month old arrived with severe acid reflux and refusing the bottle to being nursed back to health by Barbara who has been there for 30 years! She's never been more smily and happy. Having someone with that level of experience to help us navigate what had been troubling us was so helpful. In short, if you need an opportunity to reset and reconnect with your family while there's something for all of you to enjoy...this is the place for you! We will be back!

My family and I have gone to Tyler Place for 3 summers. The first year we weren’t sure what to expect - what would family camp be like, would we have enough time with our kids, would we have too little time without them :), would we like the social aspect of adult activities, etc. I tell you, Tyler Place has struck the perfect balance between kid time, adult time and family time. And the perfect balance between high end luxury and good old for a month summer fun. You can really make it whatever you want it to be: 100% social, 100% family time or anywhere in between. My husband and I made friends for a lifetime. My kids beg to go back every year. Everyone in our family of 4 is happy and that is what makes this the best vacation ever!

I read about Tyler Place in Parents magazine when our oldest child was a toddler and remember thinking that it sounded perfect for us! By the time she was old enough for us to consider it, I was pregnant with our second child, so the trip had to wait. We had reservations to go last summer, but of course, COVID canceled our plans. After all this time we finally made it, and I'm thrilled we did! I had been reading reviews and hyping this place up in my mind for YEARS. I was secretly worried that there was no way that it would live up to what I had imagined. Thankfully, it was just as magical as I expected it to be and even better than I pictured it! Tyler Place is such a gem- the perfect wholesome family vacation. I loved all of the available choices for social activities and also appreciated how encouraging everyone was of time alone. I loved our fun-filled champagne cruise with new friends and also enjoyed my quiet time spent reading in a hammock, swaying with the breeze. Our kids absolutely adored their counselors and the friends that they made. They both have asked if we could move to Vermont! Our oldest child has been to Disney World three times and she said that she loved Tyler Place even more! From a parent's perspective, it absolutely blows Disney out of the water. It is so much more relaxing than any family vacation we've ever been on. The kids are with counselors from 8:30 am-1:30 pm and then you have a break for family time. Kids go back to their group from 5:30 pm (when happy hour begins!) and stay with them until 8:30 pm when dinner concludes. Adults eat three kid-free meals per day and the food is delicious! The menu varies each day, and it is always yummy! Plus, without kids screaming at the table, everything is more enjoyable! Everyone picks out their own bike once they arrive, and that is the main mode of transportation around the resort. Our son isn't quite as proficient on his bike as his older sister, so we usually ended up having him ride in a seat attached to my husband's bike. Our daughter loved the freedom that the bike allowed her, and roamed the property freely with her friends. It's such a nice change from worrying about people speeding through our neighborhood and wondering if the kids will get hurt by a car. It feels like you're in a perfectly safe bubble and that is magical! We stayed in Redhead, a two-bedroom cottage very close to the lake. We caught the sunset on the ride back from dinner every night and it was incredible! One of the great things about Redhead is that you're on a road with about 4-5 other houses and there is a communal playground in the front. Even though they were worn out at the end of each day, our kids got up fairly early. The sun rises way earlier in VT than it does in GA where we live! It was so nice to be able to tell them to go play outside after they had their morning snack. That allowed us a little more time to sleep before we started another fun day! After dropping the kids off at their respective clubhouses, we would eat breakfast and then decide what activities we wanted to do for the day. I preferred a slower and quieter start to my day, while my husband liked activities that were sportier and more social. His favorites were things like the ropes course, lawn games and pickup basketball games. I really enjoyed yoga with Lucy, my massage with Andrea, and finding different hammocks to read my book. We also got a sitter almost every evening so we could attend the fun adult events that the resort hosts. There was a Memorial Day bonfire, trivia night, game night, and other fun things to do. I wholeheartedly recommend Tyler Place to any parent who is looking for the perfect mix of family time and a break from parenting. Your children will love the time they spend away from you with their counselors and you will have so much fun having adult conversations while your little ones are well taken care of. It is heaven on earth and we can't wait to go back!

There is no place like Tyler Place. Our tenth year here and it was better than ever. The Tyler Family takes care of every little detail to make sure every day is the best day! The friendliest, warmest, caring family run business. You would not notice much difference around COVID (other than the masks inside), but there is a lot of thought invested to make sure everybody is safe. Another amazing stay.

My family and I went to TP for 10-15 years during my childhood, my last year being the summer after I graduated high school (2010). Every single year, I would look forward to returning .. we would all count down the days starting the second we left. It was the MOST fun place as a kid. I have such incredible memories of banana boating on lake Champlain, biking into st Albens for pizza with my group, playing in the swimming pool, family time mid-day, and most of all, making life-long friendships with the same kids every year. My family and I still keep in touch with many families who we vacationed with yearly. I’ve boasted about my experience at TP to my husband for years. As soon as we got pregnant, we both talked about how excited we were to bring our kids to TP someday. I can’t wait to share that incredible experience with my own little family. TP is the BEST!!

For the past 8 summers, my family of 20 and I have come to Tyler Place. We were only intending on coming for a couple of years, but the memories and experiences attached to this special place have dragged us back time and time again. I am so grateful that I was able to grow up at Tyler Place, and have made some of the best memories in my entire life there. Tucked away in northern Vermont, this resort sits right on Lake Champlain. The location of Tyler Place is part of what makes it so special because it is located in a small rural town. The nature of Highgate Springs allows you to escape to the lake and festivities at Tyler Place while still feeling safe and at home in the town surrounding you. The size of Highgate Springs does not reflect the surplus of activities there is to explore at Tyler Place. This resort truly makes everyone feel welcome by offering activities for all ages, interests, and abilities. There are countless possibilities at the waterfront, along with an unimaginable number of activities around the rest of the resort. I have such a sense of freedom at Tyler Place because my friends and I are free to do whatever we want, while still knowing that we are safe under the amazing staff and our family that is close by. My friends and I wake up early in the morning to go to the trampolines before breakfast, schedule boat time for tubing in the afternoon, or take advantage of all of the other offerings Tyler Place has. Kids ranging from ages 3-16 spend about half of the day in groups with their ages. I have gone to Tyler Place since the age of 6, and the time I spent in group is often the highlight of the week. The week is laid out in a schedule that you are given at arrival, and it includes all meals and activities. The resort does a great job organizing activities that are appropriate for the age of the group. You arrive in group in the morning for breakfast, and then do the scheduled activities until lunch. You then have lunch and have a little more time in group before break. Then the afternoon is free. You arrive back in group for dinner, and then have an evening activity. The staff at Tyler Place is a large part of what makes the week so smooth and enjoyable. The staff comes from all over the world, but make sure you feel right at home at Tyler Place. Counselors at Tyler Place make every activity with their constant enthusiasm and jokes, the kitchen staff work relentlessly to produce amazing food with options for all types of eaters, and the concierge is always sensitive and supportive of any requests. Although I have tried to explain the splendor of Tyler Place in the last few paragraphs, the truth is there is no way to explain how perfect this place is in words. The saying “nothing is perfect” truly does not apply here. Tyler Place will always have a special place in my heart, no matter how much I age or experience. For the past 8 years, I have spent my days counting down how much time is left until I can return to this place, practically my second home. Our family has decided that it is time to move on, as my cousins and I are all growing up, but that does not mean Tyler Place is any less special to us. My time at Tyler Place may have ended, but the special memories I have of it will live on forever.

After coming home from our 5th wonderful Tyler Place vacation I felt the need to write another review. From the moment we see the Tyler Place sign upon entry to the moment we leave it is such a special, unique experience that the entire family looks forward to each year. By now, both my husband and I and our kids have developed fantastic friendships that continue to deepen over the years, while adding new friends to the group with each visit. Every year we try new activities and enjoy having the chance to be outdoors and active knowing the kids are also having an amazing time. They come out of group bubbling over with the things they've done and full of plans to meet their friends at the lake or the pool. My husband and I cherish family time and reconnecting with the kids, while also enjoying the time to connect with each other. We have also made some life-long friends. During cocktail hour and dinner I have found myself having some of the most interesting conversations with other guests that I've had in years. It's such a wide mix of geographic, political, and ideological backgrounds, but at the same time everyone is so open-minded and willing to listen that it makes for excellent conversation. I wish more of life were like Tyler Place! We will be back next year. The kids are already counting the days!
