Highland Lodge is just a gem. The lodge is so cozy, comfortable and charming. Grounds are pristine. Elsa and Chad are so welcoming and have a wonderful team. Great ambiance. We loved the trails too. Our stay was an absolute delight and we can't wait to go back.

What a weekend! Chad and Elsa warmly greeted us upon our arrival and made us feel right at home. They prioritize customer service and make their guests feel cared for, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. Our room was clean and cozy, the food was delicious, and the cold-brewed coffee was incredible! After taking a beautiful hike right from the inn where you can take in gorgeous views, we enjoyed yummy cocktails and a delicious meal followed by conversation and star gazing from the firepit. Thank you, Chad and Elsa, for a terrific weekend. It was a perfect New England experience, and I cannot wait to return with my family!

I stayed at Highland Lodge for the first time this past weekend and couldn't have enjoyed myself more ... well, maybe I could have if we weren't living amidst a global pandemic. First, there was enough space and precautions taken to make sure people felt safe, e.g., the big tent with picnic tables and heaters, a long porch with multiple pockets of seats, separate cabins and sections of the lodge, yoga outside on the lawn overlooking the lake with all mats spaced out, and a mandatory mask rule that everyone took seriously. I stayed in the lodge and my room was very clean and homey. (I am already looking forward to sitting around the fireplace in the living room when I go back after COVID is over.) The food was excellent -- especially if you like bacon-wrapped scallops cooked over a fire -- and the cocktails were carefully crafted by awesome Betsy. Elsa & Chad, the lodge managers, made the overall experience as welcoming and warm as possible. They are extremely attentive to their guests, have a natural energy for this work and think of the little details that make things special. If you like to be active outdoors (ski, swim, sail, row, bike, hike), want to be safe and have a home-away-from-home experience, I highly recommend Highland Lodge.

We stayed the weekend at the Highland Lodge as part of a group celebration. From the moment we arrived, Elsa, Chad, Betsy and the whole staff made us feel welcome and part of the family. They are clearly focused on taking care of guests and making sure you have a great experience. To top it off, the food and drinks are outstanding. Given we visited just into the shoulder season (i.e. cold spell in September), we got to enjoy the outdoor fire pit and some outdoor grilling (over the fire)! And, they are organized to take care of any COVID guidelines, with masks, etc, to make you feel safe as a guest. We will definitely be going back!

In these times, it is difficult to feel safe and comfortable. Elsa guided us through a very relaxing and comfortable stay during some hot summer days. The accommodations were adjusted to be in keeping with safety and enjoyment. The staff was friendly, helpful and watchful for our safety. We stayed in Edna Cabin and had a great view of Caspian Lake. The water was very warm and we did spend most of our days on the beach. People did social distance and wear masks. It has been years since we had a chance to stay at Highland Lodge and that was only in the winters. The summers there are great!
