I have had the fortune to stay at the Inn a few times, and have always enjoyed. The views for early morning sunrise, the beautiful scenery in the fall, and the local community of Greensboro are just a few things you will enjoy. The Inn has tons of history, yes the interenet and phone service is a challenge at times, but if your coming to northern Vermont, you don't need it. Come and enjoy

Clean and spacious room. Warm and inviting common area. Friendly and knowledgeable host who provided hot coffee and blueberry muffins. Missed having an Internet connection but maybe I was better off without it!

Rented this place for my daughters wedding. It was spectacular. So beautiful. We rented the rooms to family to offset the cost a little. The 10 rooms were all nice. Beautiful old furniture. The grounds are amazing. Gorgeous gardens. Nice views. Willeys store right down the street was great for coffee & bkft sandwiches. Had a great weekend here. Don't plan on making noise late. There's neighbors that call the cops after 1030 pm. Even so, I would highly recommend this place. It's just so perfect.

Came here as part of a large group for a wedding (the house is not available for individual room booking). Cathy, with a friendly smile, greeted us when we arrived and helped us settle into our room. The inn is about 1.5 hour from the airport in Burlington and 45 minutes from the bus in Montpelier. Some of the party drove all the whole way, but my group flew in and drove from Burlington. Lakeview has ample parking space. Views were incredible from the back (open air, trees and mountains in the distance) and the front (more trees, Caspian Lake). The garden has an open grass lawn area and beautiful landscaped flowers with a patio area with a table and chairs, and benches. There was the main room for a large dinner party (50+.. but probably more) with seating around a fireplace area, and a bar adjacent. There were many smaller sitting rooms on the first floor alone that I didn't get a chance to explore. The room I stayed in had its own bathroom (I think almost all of the rooms did, there was one large room that had a huge bathroom that was separate, but right next door). The room was rustic, cozy, and clean, and a big plus for no scary insects that I can recall even though we were essentially surrounded by nature. Nearby is Willey’s which functions as a grocery, hardware store, and clothing shop (second floor). There is also a quaint novelty shop, book store, and ice cream shop in the area. A block down from the ice cream shop is a beach area. Caspian Lake is probably a 20-30 minute walk or jog (a lot of joggers, nice trails), or less than 5 minute drove from the inn. Many of the wedding party were excited about the fresh peaches and bacon from the local farms. There is wifi but don't expect streaming quality. There is no cellular from most of the service providers but my fellow Verizon users and I were able to get a few bars of 3g on the first floor (though I highly recommend disengaging from phones and other electronics for a while if possible).

However, I was lucky enough to visit this property which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Shame it is not open to individual reservations, but the place can't function full time. That may change, but in the meantime, it is able to handle larger groups, functions or weddings. Lovely grounds. and the view of the backyard was incredible with Vermont Day Lilies all over the place. Views of the lake are upstairs.
