I had a great stay at the Silver Maple in July for four days. I stayed in a studio cabin that had a fireplace, small kitchen andA/C. The decor is dated and a little tired, but that is the only reason for the four star instead of five star review. The cottage was nice and clean and Scott, the owner,... More

My boyfriend and I recently spent a weekend in their standard king with a fireplace cottage and it was amazing! The cottage was beautiful and cozy, I was most excited to be next fireplace most of the time although it was warm regardless. The owner was also very warm and welcoming also helpful. We'll definitely be returning.

My family and I have stayed for many years at the Silver Maple Inn and Cottages and we have always enjoyed it very much! We have always stayed in the cottages and love it! They are very quaint and cozy and we especiially love the working fire place in the cottage. We would recommend it and plan to continue to... More

We reserved 2 cabins for 2 nights in July 2015. Owners very friendly. Our first thought when we pulled in was....we must be at the wrong place...this looks nothing like the pictures on their website. We walked in the main house and there was a strong musty smell (we were glad we didn't reserve a room in the house). We... More

A simple, yet lovely overnight that evokes Vermont wholesomeness as well as the golden era of auto touring. As a travel journalist with an eye for appreciating the intangibly magical, I'm often appalled at the level of superficial negativity that is found on TripAdvisor and especially in this listing. The owner is a colorful and delightful personality who went way... More

Where do I start? Old, musty, dingy. Yeah, that's a start. Our bedroom seemed to be partly on Interstate 91. There was a door to the adjacent room that the host, Scott, said was locked on both sides. Hard to tell, since the wall was paper thin. Snoring and other assorted noises assaulted us throughout the night. No TV in... More

We really liked this place! All of the reviews are accurate (except we never saw the dog) - a bit of a musty smell in the main house, no a/c or tv in the rooms in the main house, but it was lovely, very comfortable, very friendly owner, great setting, the ability to borrow the bikes was a nice touch.... We stayed at the main house. Very little room with no TV, no refrigerator and no water pressure. It took me one hour to take a shower, because the water pressure was terrible. And further the water smelt like rotten eggs. The breakfast for the morning is very basic and unimpressive. And yes you will hear the constant highway noise.... More

My wife and I stayed there this August for 4 nights. I read the reviews and was concerned about road noise, so we got a cabin and I brought my white noise machine. I never broke out my white noise maker, so noise was no issue. I did not expect a full breakfast at all. However, the hot coffee, bowl... More

The owner is very nice and welcoming. The main building does smell like an old barn (that musty aroma of yore) It is more like bed, no breakfast. (Get your breakfast at the Fairlee Diner down the street about 1/2 mile.) This place has 3 cabins. The cabins are the place to be. They have TVs and are more roomy.... More
