The themed rooms were tastfully decorated. We stayed in the Rudyard Kipling room and had two exquisite breakfasts. The cheese soufflette was exceptional. The porch is a work in progress but when completed the entrance will compliment the interior.

This B & B is very nice, loved the many wonderful details in house, not much to do in the immediate area, but still a very very nice place to stay. The owners are Greg and Sharon Parke, although Sharon was the only one there that weekend. She was not as personable as the help (can't recall her name). But... More

Rooms are very nicely decorated and beds are comfortable. Found it extremely quiet, like we were the only ones there. Breakfast was very good, and they will work with you if you have any allergies or dislikes. There are a lot of stairs, so if that is a problem make sure you ask for a room on the ground floor.

This home, though it really needs a ton of exterior work, should be a regular house museum. We've been to a great many historic homes, belonging to famous people, designed by famous architects or depicting a particular genre that is long since forgotten. First of all, the work that needs to be done. It is huge; but that is more... More

We have stayed here twice while on bike trips. The mansion is very bike friendly with a covered secure place to store bikes overnight. We had the Jane Austen room this visit. Beautifully decorated with a peacock theme. The bed was soft and comfortable. We all enjoyed relaxing on the porch after riding most of the day. Sharon gave us... More

Every year our bike group tours Vermont and we make it a point to book at the Marble Mansion. Sharon treats us terrifically. The rooms are unusually decorated ... gilded age in great comfort! Don't stay here if you want a cookie-cutter hotel-motel. Beds are like sleeping on a cloud and breakfast is the best I've ever experienced at a... More

Stayed here for two nights to attend a reunion weekend nearby. Upon arrival first impression was not great. Entire front porch has peeling paint everywhere and is dirty. Only needs a blower to clean it up. Had lots of beautiful flower pots though. We had Wm Shakespeare for two nights. Very nice room, bath had a very tiny shower with... More

It’s amazing how vindictive some people get when they don’t get their way when making unreasonable requests. We state very clearly that breakfast is served from 0800-1000 on our website. On occasion, we can do it somewhat earlier, but with prior arrangement. We apologize, but 0600 for breakfast is beyond our flexibility. You are quite right the front porch has... More

Based on the extraordinarily high ratings for the Marble Mansion, we eagerly anticipated our visit to the property. We booked a one-night stay on June, 2016. To say we were disappointed in both the property and the service is an understatement. Our experience was so different than those written about on your rating website, we thought we must be talking... More

I won’t go into answering the same criticisms, but suffice it to say these guests were in the same party as the other 2-star review on 11 July from “liztudor.” Apparently, you expected the Waldorf Astoria with gourmet breakfast for only $85. You are quite right, that there are many things we could do to make your room much better.... More

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Marble Mansion Inn on our trip through Vermont. The owner, Sharon, welcomed us on arrival and gave us a tour of the historic home. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. In addition, we were lucky to be there for the town's free concert on the park right across from the inn,... More

After reading the glowing review here, I was very surprised at the reality. Exterior of the house in poor condition. Peeling paint everywhere. Downstairs molding very impressive, but that was all. My room very dark. Hair dryer not connected to wall...had to place hook up in sink to use. Bed was comfy but AC not up to task. Was told... More

We always appreciate constructive criticism, but to start out a review insulting every guest that has given our Inn a five star review is the height of hutzpah. Nonetheless, I shall try to answer each criticism in turn: 1) Exterior of the house in poor condition: Yup, no arguments there. The 150 year old mansion’s exterior woodwork was neglected for...
