The best experience in the snow. The attention from the owner and his coworkers was amazing. The place was clean, well equipped, confortable and beautifull. We love it, definitely I recommend this. The dogs are so cute, we have a great time.

What an amazing place, a true cabin in the woods complete with wolves (well ok, dogs, really friendly, lovely, enjoyable dogs) running around.

You should have seen my husband's face as we were driving up to the rather rough roads to the lodge, I think he thought I'd lost my mind and booked us in to some dodgy shack in the middle of nowhere. As soon as he walked in though he loved it, in fact it was his favourite place out of the 8 places that we stayed in on this road trip. It also helped that he LOVES dogs.

We stayed in Larkspur and for what is a very reasonable price you get a whole cabin with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with washing machine and dryer, a fully fitted kitchen and a large sitting room with real log fire all to yourselves. The views are beautiful, especially in fall when we were there and the owner could not have been more friendly and accomodating without being intrusive. He even took the time to recommend a route for our sight-seeing which proved to be a lovely drive.

This is a dog place and the owner lets 2 or 3 of the dogs out at a time to run around, now I am a little nervous around dogs but these guys are lovely and very gentle. They also make this a really unique place.

If you're in this area, go off the beaten track and give this place a try. Stock up at the store, load the fridge when you arrive and settle in for real peace and quiet, you won't regret it.

I always wanted to visit Vermont when I was younger and now that I have a family and kids I decided to. I found Eden Lodge by doing a basic Google search for cabins in the Northeast Kingdom and was sold after browsing the site for about 10 mins. We stayed in the FoxGlove cabin for 4 nights which was especially homely. We took day trips each of the 4 days and were gone for 8-9 hours a day and loved coming back to retreat to bed at the cabin. I walked with my son around the grounds and down the dirt roads and even heard a moose and found tracks. Jim the owner was truly dedicated to his work and passion for the dogs (all 33 of them)

I got to see a lot of the dogs and hang out with them some even though we didn't have the extra money for a sled dog ride ... next time it will be a must do.

Just a fair bit of warning .. there is only local TV 13-15 channels and the DSL internet worked 1 day while we were there but that was the best part in a way since we spent all of our time out and exploring instead of cooped up inside the cabin.

We had beautiful weather all 4 days so count us lucky. Eden Lodge lived up to my expectations and more and though its not for everyone as Jim says.. for the people that do like this sort of thing it was truly "Eden".

Thanks Jim!

A friend and I rented the Larkspur cabin at Eden Mountain Lodge for a week-long excursion to Vermont. It was just what we wanted: A clean, rustic cabin with a large fireplace and everything we needed for the week. The cabin has a washer and dryer, full kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, stove and fridge, two large bedrooms, and a wonderful tub that was perfect for a candle-lit bubble bath. The owner, Jim, was very gracious and helpful. He was there for anything we needed but left us alone to have privacy unless we needed him. I loved the fact that they didn't come in to clean while we were there. It made it feel like the cabin was truly "ours" for the week with no interruptions or feeling like someone we didn't know was milling about our stuff.

A word about the cleanliness - Because this is an older, charming log cabin you can't expect perfection. There was a little dirt here and there and everything was not what you would find in a modern 5 star hotel, but it was quite acceptable for a cabin. I didn't have any complaints about the cleanliness at all.

Although, we rented this cabin with the intension of doing day trips every day and just using it as a place to sleep, my friend and I actually found ourselves wishing for a rainy day so we would have an excuse to stay in the cabin all day! Thankfully we did have one day of rain and enjoyed having a roaring fire all day, watching movies, reading and just enjoying the place.

You need to be a dog lover to truly appreciate this place. There were 30 mushing dogs on the property. A few of them are allowed to roam the property and are more than happy to come make your acquaintance if you allow them to. If you bring your own dog or don't like them for some reason, Jim will keep his dogs away, but that's no fun!

I would love to come back in the winter and experience a dog mushing trip with Jim and the dogs.

All in all, I couldn't have been happier about the time we spent at Eden Mountain Lodge. I'm looking forward to coming back!

I went to Eden Mountain Lodge last weekend with my boyfriend and we had a wonderful time. The Larkspur cabin was cozy and rustic but had all the amenities we needed. We went dogsledding (so fun!) and hit up a couple nearby breweries during the day and relaxed by the fire at night. After seeing our pictures, all our friends want to come with us next time. The only downside is that it is a bit of a drive from NYC but it was worth it.

traveled to eden mountain to try a fun, brief getaway with college and hs aged kids and keep them engaged. SO much fun. we stayed in larkspur....great little cabin. Toasty warm, cozy fireplace. brought breakfast and lunch and snacks. Out to Morristown for dinner (meh?). Back to cabin for game nights and last game of regular season (football!) Took a sled ride and learned about the dogs and their habits....everyone really knowledgeable and friendly. Dogs were so cool. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I planned a last minute weekend getaway and stayed in the very cozy Foxglove cabin. The cabin was perfect! I really enjoyed the wood burning stove and beautiful wood floors with radiant heat. The kitchen was also extremely convenient and had all the amenities we needed - it was like home away from home. Though we did not bring pets to the pet friendly cabin, we loved playing with all the dogs that visited us on our porch. We would definitely recommend this lodge to our friends and will likely return for some dog sledding once there is snowfall!

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Eden Mountain Lodge and it was the best experience of my life. It was truly a magical, wonderful place! There are two cabins on the property and we stayed in the more rustic of the two, Larkspur Lodge, which was loaded with all the amenities you could want -- full kitchen, fireplace, cozy couches, etc. It was a very romantic and scenic place to stay. Just a few steps away is where Jim and his fabulous team of expert mushers take you out on dog sledding trips! The first day, we were driven on a sled in a team, which was so much fun! Even better was learning to drive the team on the following day. The instructors, in particular Nathan, were just so kind and patient and wonderful. And Jim, the owner and our gracious host, was so welcoming and helpful -- he made us feel like part of the family there. But best of all were the dogs! Each one had distinct personalities and appearances but they all had lovely dispositions and I miss them desperately! Eden is must for anyone who loves dogs and nature and wants to get away from it all. My advice would be to load up on supplies and stay at one of the cabins for a few days in a row -- a sense of calm and serenity will come over you.

Our family had such a great visit and sled trip. It was far more than a joy ride. We got to know all the dogs and their personalities. You really get to know the dogs by hanging out with them. Deborah and Ethan taught us so much about the dogs and ethical dog sledding. Great people! The sled trails are beautiful and well maintained. Planning on going back for a weekend and bringing our friends.

The cabins are cozy and well taken care of. Beautiful land, wonderful owner, fun dog sledding experience. We were a large group and the cabins fit everyone. Close to Stowe and many wineries/breweries if you are off the mountain. Can't wait to go back!
