My family and I stayed at Mountain Top Inn & Resort in early February 2021. We were a group of seven and the guest houses were a great option. We chose to stay at the Wintergreen North with five bedrooms; we didn't even use the fifth bedroom. We were quite comfortable, and this was more than enough house for our family. The house was comfortably furnished and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with enough dishes in the cupboards to serve a banquet. We were also impressed with the fully stocked wood for the fireplace. The lower level space looked like it had been recently done or renovated in a southwestern style with a complementary selection of art and decor. The foosball table was a nice addition, too. Our only complaint about the lower level was the inability to regulate the temperature. It tended to get rather warm in the evenings in this space. There was also a bit of an odor that came from the bathroom. This can occur sometimes with basement level bathrooms, but perhaps the vents were covered with snow. There had been a good amount of snow during the season and it snowed a little bit each day we were there. The odor was not a deal breaker, as we did love the house, but it was rather unpleasant and should be looked into. We also weren't able to use the kiva fireplace on the lower level--not sure if something was wrong with it, but we weren't able to get the damper open. Nevertheless, we loved the space and functionality of the lower level. The beds throughout the house were comfortable, while the pillows weren't the most comfortable that I've found at an inn or hotel, but they were good enough. We stayed for three nights and did not have any house keeping services during our stay, other than a daily towel delivery that was left outside. We had a great abundance of fresh towels by the time we left. I don't know if there would normally be house keeping service at the guest houses, as we thought there might've been trash removal during our visit, but we guessed that covid restrictions probably prevented this. The dining options were appreciated. The tavern and restaurant were great. We enjoyed several meals at both. Food was tasty, but we would have liked to have seen a few more options on the menu. The views from the main property were spectacular, and the property, overall, was quite beautiful. There was a nice selection of outdoor activities, and we enjoyed ice skating one afternoon. When we arrived there was a substantial amount of snow on the ice rink, so we had to go to the main building and request shovels. We would have been happy to clear it ourselves, but within a few minutes a couple of grounds keepers arrived and got the rink cleared of snow. We also had a great time sledding and loved our sleigh ride through the woods. We had hoped to go snow shoeing as well, but took a full afternoon to ski at nearby Killington instead. We absolutely loved our stay at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort. It was the most relaxed I have felt in a very long time, and we look forward to returning soon.

Had an excellent lunch while snowmobiling on the VAST trails. Quality food. Good prices. Great ambiance. The menu is not very large but the quality is high. Snowmobile parking is plentiful. Make a reservation ahead of time with COVID capacity limitations.

Carly and the team at Mountain Top Inn helped to execute our absolutely perfect wedding. We are so grateful and can't recommend the location enough! We loved every last detail. The rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, the reception, the on-site spa, the guest houses, etc.

We stayed in one of the cabins with our dog and had the best time. It's important to keep in mind that many business are suffering during this time and are doing their best to simply stay afloat. Sometimes as adjustments are made, things are forgotten or the staff is reduced due to smaller capacity and things might take longer or might not be perfect. We all need to make allowances and be patient. The Mountain Top staff, without exception, were all extremely gracious and helpful before and during our stay. We mostly ordered take-out from the restaurant and ate in our room the whole time. The food was consistently good. Our cabin was great, but one thing I failed to consider beforehand was an eating area. If you do get takeout, it's hard to eat without a table of any kind. BUT this was a minor inconvenience. I only mention it because I would look for something with a seating area and table next time I stay. Every single person we encountered was very helpful and friendly, whether it was the front desk, restaurant staff or the team members outside shoveling. With regard to safety, we did see larger parties that were almost certainly not from the same household, but I have to assume they followed the quarantine guidelines before checking in. We also saw people (guests) in the reception area seated near the desk without masks on. The staff really should enforce the mask rules in the common areas since locations such as the reception desk can't be avoided by other guests. But again, it's a really hard task and guests have to realize they are assuming some risk when traveling and staying in a hotel or resort. We spent our days on the trails adjacent to the resort, where there were virtually NO other people. Our dog had tons and tons of fun frolicking around in the snow as we skied or snowshoed on the trails that allow dogs. I was worried there would not be enough dog-friendly trails for us, but there was so much terrain to chose from. We definitely plan to return post-pandemic so we can get the entire Mountain Top experience. If it was this great with all the restrictions, we can only imagine how great it is under optimal circumstances.
