Enjoyed a great stay at the Chester House while visiting the northeast. Jan and Bob are very gracious hosts with time to talk and advice to give. The house is very comfortable and the breaksfasts are delicious. Good recommendations for trails, sites, and travel. You can't go wrong with these folks.

The location is great, easy to find, walk to shops and restaurants. But the Inn is desperately in need of an update. Our room was located just off of the living area and was very tiny. The bathroom was a nice size, but there is no place to put toiletries. The tub/shower is a claw footed tub and so narrow that there is no space between you and the shower curtain. Yuck. Breakfast was ok but our host was rather gruff and not really gracious as you would expect.

This in was in the center of town and close to everything that was open during the Columbus Day w/e. We stayed in a room for 3. The beds were very comfy and the Inn is WI-FI ready. The shower handles were temperamental and needed a little adjustment. Breakfast came with the price and was good but a little too heavy and sweet for us. The proprietor, Bob was friendly and knowledgeable on places to eat and to see. While we were there we had dinner at 2 fantastic eateries. They were friendly and the food was very good. If you like small town atmosphere this little town Chester is a nice place to visit on your way to your new destination.

Every aspect of our stay at Chester House Inn was wonderful. We stayed in room 1, the Princess Mary room. This first floor room was spacious and comfortable with the added bonus of a sofa to relax and read or catch up on email. The bathroom was equally spacious with a deep, jetted tub, so we could enjoy a welcome soak at the end of a day of touring around the countryside. The breakfast was outstanding, and the menu changes each day but includes homemade muffins, fresh fruit (I loved the grilled pear), breakfast meat of some sort, and eggs or homemade waffles. Bob went out of his way to ensure we had a comfortable visit. Highly recommend.
