We absolutely loved our stay at the Inn. The location is perfect - there is even a beautiful walk through the nearby wineries that starts right next to the house. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the access to a common room with kitchen was an added bonus. But the best part by far was our lovely fireside chats with the owner (who is also an amazing artist!) and sitting in the garden hammock watching little frogs hop by. We will definitely come again!

Thank you for your nice review. It was a true pleasure to meet you both and hear F.'s guitar! You are among the first guests since Vermont started to open up again on June 22, and so, lifted our spirits. We would love to see you again and sing by the fire. Life is good. Thank you again.

The Inn at Charlotte is a very pleasant place to stay. Our little cabin was plenty comfortable. The living room in the main building is a pleasant place, with essentially a full kitchen. There is a lovely lawn, with chairs and awnings and hammocks, a grill, and a firepit. We cooked dinners over the grill, which was fun and straightforward (and a big money-saver). A chicken coop in back with free-range chickens was very exciting for my 4 y/o son. The best part was the proprietor, Duker, an interesting and lively guy, who went to exceptional efforts to make our stay pleasant and memorable. He let my son release the chickens and collect the eggs, then fried them up for him, which was memorable. Duker gave him six eggs to take home, which was a thrill. Charlotte is a beautiful little town, and the Inn is finely situated. Overall, a delightful and memorable visit.

My son and I really enjoyed our week here. Duker and his family are very welcoming and gracious hosts and took excellent COVID precautions. He gave us great tips for hiking (Mt. Philo just down the street), swimming, bike ride, and restaurants. We stayed in the Family Room, which is really a big suite with full kitchen, living room, and private bedroom. It has direct access to the yard and garden, which we enjoyed using. The location is very convenient to the ferry to NY and to drive to Burlington. We hope we can return again.

We stayed at the inn during early July. We felt very safe keeping social distance and were able to enjoy a relaxing and nice stay. Duker was very welcoming and gave us some great tips about things to do in the area. He had a bonfire for us at night and was an excellent host. The Inn is very close to a beautiful hike. Each room has it's own separate entrance and a/c unit. It's really the perfect place to stay during the pandemic to get away from it all.

Thank you so much Monica! It has been an exceptionally hot summer with a near record number of over 90 degree days, so not as many bonfires as usually. Last night we had a sunset for the ages, just blazing reds and oranges beyond for even here. I saw it from a bit down the trail across the street. All the best.

i stayed in a separate unit from the main house which has two wings of rooms w=of various sizes and amenities. My accommodation was a small cabin, referred to by the charming host,Duker, as the "chateau". It was comfortable, not at all fancy. Although breakfast is not being served, it has a coffee maker and I was supplied with fresh ground coffee and half and half. The ground have hammocks for the daytime and a firepit for the evenings.
The location is terrific, five minutes a wonderful view spot, Mount Philo. It is just down the road from Shelburne village, Burlington and very near lake Champlain which was why I was in the area, to fish.

We only did an overnight but next time it will be far longer. Great place with artsy vibe as Duker, the owner, is indeed an artist and the inn is home to many of his paintings. He is also a musician and if you hit the right day you’ll hear the band jamming but no worries they break early.
Duker is also Well-versed in things to do in and around the area which proved very helpful for my family! Most importantly during this Covid pandemic the inn was spotlessly clean. None of the family felt concerned! Thank you!!

Thank for your expressions of appreciation. Quick disclaimer: I am a painter and sculptor, but "musician" is too generous, maybe even fraudulent. I sing, some say, others dispute. But, yes, I do it with real musicians and stray chickens and we have a blast. I hope so much to see all of you again and that you'll play your instruments with us. Evenings outside, about ten feet apart, on cool summer evenings, playin' stuff, is about as good as it gets in this crisis. Thank you for pointing out our strong efforts to provide exceptionally clean and independent rooms for our guests. Plus Vermont is right there. We are all trying our best in trying times. Business has been tough, but Keep on the Sunny Side! Thanks again.

The Inn at Charlotte is an easy fifteen miles south of Burlington, Vermont. It is a beautiful property located in the rural town of Charlotte, VT. The property itself is gorgeous. The grounds are well maintained, and the garden is beautiful. The rooms are part of a low farmhouse, all rooms located on ground level. The owner has set very high standards for himself and then proceeded to meet them, A wonderful breakfast is served every morning at 8.30 AM. My wife and I always had an excellent time speaking to the other guests. I highly recommend this place!

I reiterate those here who said, "nice innkeepers, but less than stellar accommodation." Your enjoyment of this b&b will likely be directly proportional to your values as a traveler. If you like food & company, you will probably be okay. If you are a stickler for hygiene and upgraded amenities, you will be disappointed.

The innkeeper was truly a nice guy, the breakfast was very good, and the rooms were fairly clean. But if they are going to continue to charge at luxury rates, this inn needs some work...starting with the water. The gaggingly sulfurous reek is sooo unpleasant to shower in, I found it impossible to overlook.

Pluses: the pool (sparkling!), breakfast (delish!), the location (ideal for our purposes!), and Duker the Innkeeper (charming & solicitous).

Minuses: the odoriferous tap water, the lack of windows (only sliding doors) in the Garden room, and the very noisy air conditioner make me think the revenue from this place is not going back into upkeep and upgrades.

Thank you for taking the time to review. Negative or mixed reviews are very important to us. we appreciate your the nice things you said about the pool, ood and hospitality. We apologize for the water issues that you experienced. Due to an extremely wet spring in 2011 (all-time highest water level for Lake Champlain and later Tropical Storm Irene), the naturally occuring levels of sulfur in local wells, though harmless, were elvated and unpleasant. We have since upgraded our system and mitigated the problem. Our Inn has consistently recieved very high ratings on state health/food inspections in the 98-100 percent range. In the Garden Room, we have replaced the sliding glass doors with a huge bank of windows. I think you would be pleased! We hope you'll give us another chance someday!

The Inn at Charlotte is a small, family run bed and breakfast in a beautiful setting about 10 miles south of Burlington, Vermont. The hosts are delightful and very concerned with your comfort. Breakfast in the morning is served in the main room and includes wonderful breads and food seasoned with herbs grown right on the porch. The beds are comfortable, and my bathroom was large and included a very deep tub. My room was decorated with oils painted by the host, who has a small gallery on the property.
One night while I was there, pizza was offered to guests around a raging bonfire. I have rarely felt so at home in a B & B,
