The Inn has changed hands since many of these reviews were written. It is not your typical bed and breakfast with the many personal touches you expect. THERE IS NO HOT BREAKFAST. Instead there is something called "small plates" and that includes the serving dishes. It is difficult to add berries etc to one's yogurt (when available) with a demi-tasse spoon from a champagne glass. Also the serving dishes keep having to be refilled by the staff which causes delays for the guests. Since the only hot option is to toast whatever bread etc is offered they could use a second toaster. And why never any cheese? In a state known for its cheddar, there was never any offered. The table is laden with all types of condiments and spreads but actual "mains" are few. Plus the things that are offered don't always go together. Smoked salmon goes with bagels but not so much with English muffins even if the onions, capers and cream cheese are there. And store bought mini quiches are an insult. The daily cookies are homemade but nothing else seems to be. Housekeeping etc. We stayed for 5 nights and never had any housekeeping. Their in room papers said it would happen after the 3rd night. It never did. There is a definite lack of a personal touch about the inn. The staff is very warm and friendly but they are scarce and not always present. Everything is done by text and there is a lack of knowledge about local info such as parking rules, bus routes and restaurants. At these prices I expected a lot more.

Property's Favorite Review
This was my first time in a true B&B, but it was exactly as expected. A beautiful old house with comfortable, if oddly shaped, rooms. Three floors to walk up would be hard for older folks, but for our party (all in our 30s) we only whined a little. Younger and able-bodied folks should be fine! I thought the breakfast spread was haphazard but served our purpose of having something light before hitting the town. Our friends were in a room with a hall bath, which for two nights was no big deal, but definitely read the room descriptions carefully. Some unexpected amenities were a fridge in the lobby to store leftovers (we used it for beer), and we also played a board game in the dining room in the evening. the staff was very kind the whole time we were there. Plus cookies every afternoon! What's not to like? Lastly, the grounds are BEAUTIFUL. I didn't realize we could go into the garden until our last day and I wish I had explored more.

First - understand this is an inn, not a B&B, so there is not the level of personal service of a B&B. That said, check in was easy and flawless, and parking was plentiful Breakfast consisted of various small plates available buffet-style. The room, the internet access and the common areas were all good, Its also an easy walk to downtown Burlington.

Did you ever wonder what it would feel like to be a chamber maid in a huge mansion around the turn of the century? Now you can experience it all. Stay in a hot, tiny bedroom on the 3rd floor & make your own bed! Prepare your own breakfast and bus your dishes!! This place has all the warmth of a Holiday Inn. You’ll never meet the innkeepers. They are a hidden corporate entity who still pretend to protect guests from covid by not cleaning bedrooms. And for the price one might expect hot breakfast. But no. They cover a large table with doll-sized offerings that don’t go together. One morning they served lox and English muffins. The next day they served bagels, cream cheese, onions and capers but no lox. Apparently they have never eaten breakfast. The house and garden are immaculate. Too bad the inn has no soul.

When we booked this BnB it was a family business, however it has since been bought by a company. Whilst the room was comfortable and the service good, the breakfast was light and inconsequential. It certainly did not set us up for the day. This is not what we expect from a top end Bed and Breakfast and was very disappointing. We would not stay again.

They have new ownership as of July 12. The breakfast is not as unique as it once was but still decent. Everything else is fantastic. The staff is excellent. Rhiana,Reid and the rest The building, rooms, and furniture will let you experience old New England in comfort.

The grounds were beautiful and carefully maintained. Everything was picturesque on the outside and the inside was clean and comfortable. I slept for ten hours each night on the bed. The breakfasts were delicious and it was a treat to receive to order form the day before to find out what we'd be having the next morning. Everyone at the inn was friendly and attentive. We'll stay here again the next time we're in town.

Lovely and well-run inn with friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful response to pandemic with brilliantly designed and tasty breakfast baskets you can eat in solarium, garden, or your room. Beautiful garden behind the inn with comfy chairs.

Beautiful, immaculate and comfortable rooms. We appreciated how much care and concern was taken to maintain minimal contact for their delicious breakfasts and afternoon snacks. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, we spent a few afternoons sitting amongst the flowers. Our Innkeepers were so nice and shared helpful suggestions of things to do locally. We’ll definitely return.

There was little or no contact with service persons. Breakfast was set up in a basket and took to wherever you chose to eat. Food was good - unpacking all the items and then repacking when meal completed was inconvenient. Housekeeping services were only available every 4th day. Our stay was 3days - no housekeeping services! The only method of contact was through text. Not the most warm and friendly way to communicate. I always thought that one of the advantages of B and B's was the personal touch This stay was very impersonal - I might as well have been in a Holiday Inn. The mansion was beautiful, the food was great the rooms were a bit difficult. the toilets were very low to the floor and the tub had a very high side. I would imagine you cater to an older clientele. and that was not considered.

Response from Rhianna Graham-Frock, General Manager at Willard Street Inn
Responded Jul 1, 2022
I'm sorry to hear that your stay was not up to our usual standards. We appreciate you taking the time to give us this feedback. We do still have certain COVID protocols in place, such as our breakfast set up and our implementation of texting. We are still being cautious as things return to "normal" as we have guests traveling from all over the country (and even some international travelers). As a small business, we have a smaller staff so the texting also allows us to keep in contact with our guests when we cannot be at the front desk. Regardless, we thank you for the feedback and will keep these notes in mind as we move forward.
