My wife and I spent several days at the Inn on Putney Road over the New Year holiday. It was our first time staying at a BnB and they have set the bar high for us. Usually, we would stay at higher end hotels, but decided in the COVID environment to take a different approach and try something new. We were completely blown away by the service, quality of amenities, morning breakfast, dinner recommendations (e.g., Peter Haven's Restaurant and Echo Restaurant & Lounge), and the level of safety and cleanliness of the property. Additionally, the property boasted a wonderful, tranquil backyard that sits on a cliff overlooking the town lake (where quite a few people were ice fishing!) with walking / running trails. Paul and Judy, the owners, were extremely accommodating and really go the extra mile (or two!) to make sure the stay is top notch, and we definitely felt that way. My wife grew up going to Vermont every year and, as someone who frequents the state, she agrees this was the best stay in VT. The Inn at Putney Road is also close to Mount Snow. Instead of being in the center of the busyness from tourists staying in Dover, we selected the Inn which proved to be perfect for our stay yet close enough to ski at Mount Snow each day. We highly recommend this property whether you're coming for the winter to visit Vermont and go skiing or looking to get away from a fall trip.

Property's Favorite Review
A distinct pleasure of a stay. Visiting family up in the quaint town of Brattleboro. The Inn on Putney Road is an easy walk to everywhere. Beautiful grounds with a direct link to a myriad of comforting, cool forested trails covered in pine needles amongst hundred-year-old plus oak and a variety of pine trees! Impeccable inviting grounds. So many small spaces of seclusion and beauty to relax and unwind with family, warm conversation and a four course gourmet breakfast that rivals that of the Plaza hotel in Manhattan. Each well appointed room or suite, including those within the quaint and comfy cottage lack no amenities. Each has its own distinct character. We felt at home during our whole stay. Paul and Judy are the finest Inn Keepers we’ve met over the many years we’ve traveled throughout the country and elsewhere. Warm, engaging and so pleasant! The breakfasts are truly gourmet, the coffee robust and the choices healthy and fresh… We had a small occasion to celebrate just amongst a few family members. Paul and Judy arranged a beautiful table with placesettings and flowers in a small corner of the property for us that was out of a fairytale picture book. Truly gracious and amazing. The Inn in Putney Road should be a destination spot fir anyone visiting the beauty of the northeast that includes Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Mike and Georgia, thank you for the lovely review! We so enjoyed meeting you and Niko, and all of our conversations. It was a delight to host you, and we loved hearing about your children and the good work they are doing in the world :). One of the greatest rewards of innkeeping is being able to meet and interact with families as kind and appreciative as you are. Looking forward to your next visit! Judy and Paul.

We stayed one night in mid-December at the Inn on Putney Road Bed and Breakfast and it was everything we hoped it would be. We were seeking a romantic getaway in Vermont and the Inn on Putney Road exceeded our expectations! The inn is lovely, the breakfast was amazing and there were so many special touches (the chocolates, complementary snacks, the beautiful guest rooms and sitting rooms, a pool table, hiking trails and views). The restaurants and shops of Brattleboro are a short walk away. The owners, Paul and Judy, could not have made us feel more welcome.

My husband and I spent an overnight at the Inn on Putney Road in early November. It was a first time visit to Brattleboro and we were thrilled we chose this Bed and Breakfast! Owner Paul was so warm and welcoming. The house and grounds were meticulously maintained. Our bedroom was cozy and pristine and we loved the attention to details: Wonderful local snacks and Art in our room and the bedding was luxurious! We were fortunate to stay during a warm spell so could enjoy the gorgeous outdoor grounds. We are hikers so the fact that there were trails just behind the Inn was a bonus! Oh, did I mention the incredibly delicious breakfast?! Wow..You will just have to stay to experience it! Having a pool table in the living room was another treat. And a roaring fire in the fireplace is always special. As an Artist, I loved that the owners choose to showcase much local Art and Pottery in and around the Inn. A delightful experience all around and we look forward to returning!
