Let me cut right to the chase. The inn is lovely, our host Paul was super-friendly, but what really blew me away were all the special and thoughtful touches which added up to make this a memorable experience although we only stayed a single night. Some examples: Individual French press coffee pots with great coffee (even the decaf), cool Japanese toothbrush holders (I’m obsessed!), a noise machine in the bedroom, luxurious towels, and a made-to-order breakfast to accommodate my dietary needs that was absolutely delicious. My husband‘s non-made to order breakfast was equally yummy. Highly recommended!
Paul is a great and friendly host. So many touches were perfect, from the low carb breakfast to the home made cookies to the great soap. We really love this place and will be happy to return!!! PS the walk to the Retreat Tower took us about 50 minutes round trip and was very nice--just cross the Common to Chase Street and head into the woods to the right. Look for the trails on Google maps.
The innkeepers could not have been more accommodating and went out of their way to fulfill all my special needs. Many thanks for the special care you gave us- from the room switch to the dinner recs to the dietary restrictions at breakfast! The entire staff is stellar! Such beauty and serenity in every nook and cranny of the property. Every aspect of their inn is well- thought-out and guarantees an amazing and extremely rewarding stay. The breakfast was such a treat and so nutritious! We loved talking with you and will always remember you with great warmth.
We try to get to the Yellow Barn in Putney, Vermont for their superb chamber concerts if we go to the Berkshires. . We done many other B & Bs in Vermont but the Inn on Putney Road in Brattleboro always syands out. When we booked this year, it was clear new owners had taken over so we were a bit cautious. But no worries - Paul and Judy have maintained the magic of the inn and the spectacular grounds. very detail is perfect and breakfast is special treat. This was our third stay and we loved it even more..
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at the Inn on Putney Road! We spent two nights in the Ripley Suite, which was extremely comfortable. The inn had everything you would expect from a place of this caliber - clean and comfortable rooms, luxury linens, fancy bath products, and wonderful breakfasts - but what really set it apart was the excellent service we received from the host, Paul, and staff. Paul helped us rearrange our visit due to an unexpected emergency, gave us excellent recommendations about local restaurants and activities, and was always available to assist when needed. The Inn is located very close to town, so it was a real pleasure to leave the car behind and walk to dinner each night. All in all, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay there again!
We stayed in the Carriage House with our dog for six nights which was long but could have stayed longer! The room was cozy with much attention to detail. Hosts, Paul and Judy, are very attentive to every need. Breakfasts were delightful; so much so, I looked forward to breakfast each morning! The grounds are beautiful and tranquil. Trails are right out the back door. It's close enough to town to walk to all the great restaurants and shops. We would love to return again!
We had a one night stay last week on the way home from a Maine vacation. I was determined to explore more of New England as we traveled and the Inn on Putney Road did not disappoint! Paul was a gracious and welcoming host and made sure my dietary restrictions were well accomodated. We enjoyed checking out the downtown area of Brattleboro, Paul gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner when we confirmed our reservation weeks ahead of time. Beautiful grounds, comfortable and clean room, delicious breakfast. We couldn't wish for more and plan to return in the future! Thank you!
I cannot say enough good things about this Inn. The hosts, Judy and Paul were so accommodating and gracious. We felt comfortable the minute we walked in. My husband, son, daughter-in-law and myself stayed there for 3 nights and were sad when we had to leave. The breakfast every morning was magnificent and was beautifully plated. Everything about the Inn on Putney Road exceeded our expectations.
The "suite room" was spacious & quaint & a welcomed contrast to home. Located w/i walking distance from Brattleboro, an "artsy" town, it was efficacious to visit historic & tourist favorites. Paul was outstanding. He & Rho accommodated our specific healthy diet w/passion. The Inn comes w/LOVE at no extra cost.
Beautiful property! Owners were very friendly and accommodating, really made us feel at home. Very clean and well kept. Loved that they had ceiling fans and an A/C split for each room. Breakfast was excellent! One of the best breakfast we've ever had at a B&B!
