We booked through Expedia for one night. We called the morning of our reservation to let them know we would be arriving after 6 pm. They asked for our name, we told them and they said yes you are all set. We also notified them we had a dog. We drove 3 hours and arrive at 8 pm for them... More

The place is a disaster, run down, dirty, no coat hangers, nor place to hang clothes. Cats all over the place, including on top of the tables. Never been in a hotel with cats running around. The owners have a very nonchalant attitude, and act as if they are doing a favor to the customers. They never answer the phone and... More

My confirmation stated their policy was that if cancelling you needed to call 7 days in advance. I unfortunately had to cancel my room 10 days previous to arrival date and they proceeded to tell me they had changed their policy where you had to give 2 weeks cancellation notice to get back your deposit. As far as I'm concerned... More

Full disclosure: the owner is a friend of mine, but I travel quite a bit, so I would like to add my review here. This cute 14-room has been painted and decorated with bohemian Indian-inspired flare. The owners are committed to earth-friendly, alternative healing principles and have made the atmosphere a family-run affair. There are crystals and mantras on the... More

Amazing stay! Me and a friend did a girls weekend getaway and had a great experience at the Lotus Lodge Inn. Located in the mountains in VT at a beautifully renovated space that's filled with great energy. The hosts are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was super cute and cozy. The food was healthful and delish. Wish we could... More

Black Bear Inn was very comfortable and friendly, the location now is called Lotus Lodge Inn. Excellent space to enjoy yourself and relax whether you are a residing guest or happen to be in the area. Tea by the fire, espresso with waffles, local libations & Kombucha on tap at the cozy bar, dance to talented signers and musicians during... More

We went there for our first wedding anniversary weekend it was quite romantic and relaxing. Cozy room and hot tub on the private deck makes it perfect to unwind! I'm not afraid to recommend for couple, writers and painters to stay there!! The inn is on the top or slope of the Mt. On breakfast is delicious and is made... More

I reserved a room at the Black Bear Inn on the internet, at a very attractive price, for myself and a friend for one night. The check in was as smooth as could be with all questions answered. The room was large, clean and well equipped. The only negative features of the room were a noisy heating system and bathroom... More

We were excited to stay at the Black Bear Inn. We have small dogs, and we upgraded and booked a "pet-friendly" room. Unfortunately, our room was severely lacking. The website said that the category of rooms we booked were all located on the second floor. However, when I called the inn before our trip to confirm, they never mentioned that... More

Nice little out of the way place. Pretty cheap, book exchange, cute bears in each room. Loved the breakfast they went all out, I mean quality food, not just the typical American piles of fat and grease.
