#5 of 8 hotels in Bennington
The Paradise Inn is Bennington’s most unique place to stay. Enveloped in gardens and lawns, the Inn is quiet, secluded, peaceful, yet just five minutes from quaint downtown Bennington by foot, where you’ll find shops and great restaurants, coffee and pizza, a fantastic gym and much more. Our 77 rooms are clean, spacious, and well-maintained, and priced ever-so-reasonably. The prefect lodging for individuals, couples, families, and groups, our rooms come in a variety of sizes, from Suites with patios or decks to comfortable economy rooms with king/queen or double beds. Our pool is solar heated to just the right temperature in the summer and surrounded by a slate-stone patio with many chairs and umbrella covered tables. There's great dining just a minute walk away or in downtown.

Simple hotel with older furnishings & decor. Location to town is excellent, setting serene. Has outdoor pool. Reception staff friendly & helpful. No breakfast, but some good local options. No elevator to 2nd floor. Yes we would stay here again.

We recently spent two nights at the Inn in order to explore the surrounding area. Our room was fine, nothing fancy, but everything okay. Our room was in the wing without patios/balconies which seemed to be the quieter wing of the hotel. We slept well. Lobby staff was very helpful and pleasant. We were able to walk downtown to restaurants, but the Inn is not as close as advertised. It is very centrally located to drive to other attractions in the area, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We recently spent two nights at the inn. I would love to give it four stars because aspects of the place deserve it. However, I cant seem to get past some disappointments so my rating is just average. The good: The staff: every single person on staff we interacted with was very nice. They allow pets! The rear gardens are beautiful The pool seemed clean and very inviting Sizable room and nice access to the lawn via the private patio Convenient location Great proximity to yummy breakfast and lunch across the parking lot at Loose Cannon Cafe Generally clean The not so good: Entry, lobby and room were rather worn. Torn seat in lobby, broken table base and lamp in room, ripped pillow case.... Extremely loud refrigerator in room (we specifically paid more for a room with a fridge and needed it so we could not unplug it - frustrating) Noxious smell in hallway Perhaps pet rooms are a little more dated and worn than the rest. It's easy to suggest pumping a bit of money into sprucing up and updating the rooms, harder to do, I know. However, repairing or replacing broken furniture and ripped linens would go a long way to an improved experience.

We stayed one night at the so called paradise in. The rooms smelt like mold. The toilet was not useble.. We had to clean it first before use it, the sink was clogged . We called the receptionist ask for a mother room . She said She did not had anymore left. We took quit a few pictures off the rooms. The rooms 310$.for one night. I will get in touch with hHealth Department submit those pictures.... The best part about it is . No manager was available called the number that was giving us no answer...... This hotel is totally overpriced . I worked in hotel business. So know .

Very disappointed that your stay was so disappointing. However I think to be fair to the Inn we must be clear about the review. You had two rooms which the price per room was $140 plus tax. Upon inspection of the room we found no smell,No clogged sink and nothing wrong with the toilet. We did however find the tiny piece of wallpaper starting to peel which you informed us about. The real issue perhaps wasn't the room but that you wanted a room overlooking the beautiful pool area which we would have gladly given you but those rooms were already taken..

Just returned from three nights at Paradise Inn. Have been staying at this hotel for over 15 years one to two times a year. Rooms are clean, large, nice staff - but the draw is the secluded park like setting, room with balcony overlooking the pool and, of course, the beautiful pool. This hotel is advertised as non-smoking rooms (true) and Property Amenities as Non-Smoking Hotel (totally not true). This recent three night stay was not comfortable due to the allowed smoking anywhere and everywhere on the premises outside of the rooms. Was not able to use the balcony as smokers in room below as well in adjoining rooms, used their patios to smoke from first thing in the morning until late into the night. Our balcony was rendered useless unless one wanted to be surrounded by cigarette smoke. Could not leave the patio door open as the cigarette smoke quickly filled the room. Even closing the door and using the air conditioning unit still allowed circulated smoke filtered outside air into the room. Trips to the lobby found, on numerous occasions, smoker(s) on the bench outside the lobby entrance. One needed to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke entering and exiting the lobby area. Smoking is also permitted in and around the pool area. A visit to the Paradise Inn two years ago found a group of men smoking cigars in and around the pool area. During that visit I had occasion to speak with the owner Phil of his smoking policy displeasure. Phil was understanding but appeared to be reluctant to make changes as to not offend his smoking clientele. We have kept returning Paradise Inn because of the all the positive about the facility and staff, taking a chance Phil would institute the proper No Smoking Property policy (as is advertised) and not allow smoking on the property/campus/location. Many major hotel chains have this No Smoking Policy and it works. This trip the weather was perfect to sit on the balcony, leave the door open at night to sleep but instead needed to close up due to the smokes outside. So, this trip, breathing pure clean Vermont air at Paradise Inn - not so much. Paying the cost for a Premium Room with a balcony, which was rendered unusable by the hotels owners falsely advertised Non-Smoking Hotel policy was a sad disappointment. .

I so understand this complaint because I also am a non smoker and so appreciate your patronage over the years. All rooms at the Inn are non smoking and I understand that some would like guests to not even smoke outside or even off the property all together. We have tried over the years to enforce a complete non smoking facility and found it an impossible task. We do provide ashtrays for smokers because without them the butts would end up in the gardens ,pool area and lawns. I thank you for the review and your patronage over the years.
