I loved staying at this B&B where life seemed to slow down. I highly recommend staying in this clean, comfortable and spacious home! The check-in process was very smooth because the owner has added a coded entry so we just let ourselves in as soon as we arrived. We appreciated having all the comforts of modern amenities within a beautifully updated historic home. I loved the claw foot tubs in the upstairs rooms. The bedding was so incredibly plush that I got some of the best sleep of my life! Vernal is surrounded by beautiful nature and the owner was happy to help us figure out ways to best explore. There is nobody better to help you experience a place than someone who has a true deep love of the land and the area. Cindy's passion for Vernal made our stay a vacation that we'll never forget.

Arrived at 2 September 2017 at 6pm after visiting the Dinosaur Monument and driving from Salt Lake City. Nobody there to let us in and none of the phone numbers were recognised. Tried their web site and got just a logo. Eventually gave up and found somewhere else to stay. Took photo of myself outside the place and wrote on Orbitz feedback page as they have no email just a phone number and I don't have a US SIM card. I would not expect to be charged for a NO SHOW on their part.

Vernal is not a big town, so we were very surprised that it took us three passes to actually find this little place even though, as you might guess, it's smack on Main Street. Almost nothing on the street is numbered! The shingle out front is quite modest and very easy to miss, the place being almost invisible between a loan office and a Catholic church. Then it took us another two passes to locate their tiny parking lot, sequestered behind the loan office. After a long hot sweaty drive that day, I felt rather niggled by all this, but at least someone had taken the trouble to meet us there, even though we arrived at nearly 7 in the evening. After explaining the door lock, they promptly departed. There is something inescapably bleak about a B&B where there is nobody else anywhere, and that includes no landlord or manager, even though it did give me the opportunity to relax and stroll around naked. We were the only patrons in what was once "the doctor's house," which still features a secret tunnel in the basement leading to the now abandoned hospital directly behind the property; one is strictly enjoined not to explore this, however. The inside was much nicer than the outside of the building, and the bed was comfy, if overdone with quilts and comforters and other froufrou items, totally useless when it's over 100 degrees outside. The remodel of the doc's house was not very well planned, as our room featured a tiny water closet with poor ventilation and no bathroom --- just a small "slipper" bathtub actually in the room, about two feet from the bed. Also, the a/c had been set for 72 degrees which was fine for the daytime but absolutely stifling at night, and after puzzling over the incomprehensible control panel I felt strongly disinclined to telephone the absent manager to ask how the blazes we could turn the temp down; hence my flirtation with naturism. We both slept poorly and sweatily. Deeply disappointing was the "breakfast" that were were expected to prepare and serve to ourselves the next morning, a cold collation of sweet granola, a tiny portion of fresh fruit, sugary muffins, sweet yogurt and (I'm not kidding, here) Froot Loops. 'Nuff said.

We stayed at the Main St. Manor in Vernal, UT, on 8/19/17. When we arrived at 3:00 after a very long drive the door was locked and there was a note saying not to come by until 4:00. Although there was a contact phone number on the note, no one answered. We came back an hour later and were greeted warmly. The place is on the main street of town, so you can hear traffic noise, and is unattractive from the outside. Inside it is very attractive. My husband and I were the only ones staying there and there was no one else, including the owner or manager available except by phone. There was not enough toilet paper or tissue, so I had to do a search to find more. We also had to find additional towels. Although it is listed as a B&B, we had to make our own breakfast. Boxes of cold cereal, a couple of small fruit bowls, yogurt, milk, and juice were available in the kitchen for us to help ourselves. Although it is a fully outfitted kitchen and a hot breakfast could easily have been provided, we were completely on our own with really lousy breakfast food available. I couldn't help but think that if the place was full, we would have been treated better. I felt very slighted and will not return, nor would I recommend this to anyone else.

This is a beautiful older home that retains classic style but has all of the amenities that a visitor usually needs. The check in process is smooth and simple and you are basically left to enjoy the peaceful setting of your getaway.
