Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
First the good. The room was large and exceptionally clean. There was a decent restaurant right next door and an excellent mom n pop cafe across the street. The not so good was that the staff were indifferent to the point of rudeness. The icing on the cake was when I asked to have change for a twenty so I could leave a tip for housekeeping. My bad for assuming the young woman who grudgingly tore herself away from the television could count. Hours later when I emptied my pocket I found she had only given me $14 back. I mentioned that at the diner the next day and several locals shared that Antlers used to be a great place but had been going downhill for a couple years. I really prefer staying at independent hotels, but experiences like this drive customers to the big chains

In many motels the sink is in the bathroom, not convenient for two people. We really liked the layout of the Antlers Inn's room. It has a separate vanity area with large counter outside the bathroom, as well as a sink in the bathroom.

Had fridge and microwave so we were able to use as base to visit National Parks nearby. It was very reasonable with a breakfast included. Clean and roomy. I'd stay again. It's nice to have a frig and microwaves for snacks or to warm up leftover so you aren't constantly eating out during a pandemic.

We go to Vernal often, have stayed here many times and been very, very satisfied. I don't know if the owners changed or what, but it has gone downhill! The rooms are still beautiful, but it's the little things, like the hair and debris behind the bathroom door, some kind of white residue in the tub, no liners in the trash cans and no housekeeping service on day 2, that made me want to write this. I have no problem making my own bed (even though the comforter was waaaay too small for the bed-like a full size comforter on a king-size bed so it barely covered the top) and reusing the towels, but it would have been nice to have the trash taken out and the toilet paper and Kleenex restocked the second day.
Don't plan on any kind of breakfast here either. On their website, as well as the travel websites, it says they have a full breakfast buffet, but they don't. They used to have a deal with the JB's restaurant next door for breakfast, but now, when you check in, there's a sign that says 'No buffet breakfast'. We went to JB's anyway and they still had the buffet breakfast so I guess they just don't work with Antlers anymore.
It makes me sad because this used to be our favorite place to stay and these issues have nothing to do with the pandemic. Maybe if I see some positive reviews in the next few months, we'll try again.

Unfortunately there was a lot more bad than good to report on our stay.
The staff was friendly, the pool was fun for the kids, and the room was spacious.
The bad is that the room needs a lot of improvement. The AC unit did not work. The plumbing had issues. Shower water would go from hot to cold intermittently and the shower head did not seal at connecting points causing it to spray water all over the ceiling. We draped wash clothes over the shower head to prevent spraying. The room furniture and carpet appeared dated, dingy and stained…much different than pictured on the hotel website. The bedding appeared clean but the some of the pillows had a bad smell. Overall we were pretty disappointed based on what is advertised and the failure of basic amenities. We will look elsewhere next time we visit Vernal.

We stayed at the Antlers Inn June 8-11 2023 on a family vacation to Dinosaur National Monument. After reading the previous reviews I called and spoke to a man who said it was under new management as of November 2022 and the issues with cleanliness ect had been resolved. After staying there I strongly disagree. The carpet is still stained and looks very unsightly. It felt dirty. I didn't dare walk around without my shoes on. The sheets had a few stains on them. We brought our own blankets and ended up going to Walmart to buy pillows and pillowcases because we just didn't feel like we trusted their pillows. Overall I was really hopeful that it would be cleaner than it was. The pool wasn't open yet because he said they couldn't get an inspector out to check it off. That was disappointing because we chose that place for the outdoor pool. The walls and baseboards were dirty. They really need to deep clean the rooms and get new carpet.

At first glance the room seemed decent. However after 10 minutes or so we became to notice things. Carpet seemed dirty, floor in bathroom was sticky. You could faintly smell smoke. The ice machine was broken. The one washing machine was broken. It began to feel grimy. The pillow cases were yellowed. No longer offer free buffet breakfast but instead offer a 15% discount at restaurant next door. Funny because the wifi password is “freebuffet”. Also spelled the state they are in as Utha Went in the morning to the office and it was locked. Had to wait to get the 15% off which we didn’t use and instead went across the street to Betty’s Cafe (recommend). When we came back from breakfast office was still locked.
The one thing that I found very odd was the $2 “other charge “. When I questioned it was told it was some kind of damage fee!!! Told it would not be refunded. Emailed the “head office “. And of course no response.

I have never felt compelled to write a review on anything until now. The first room we were assigned to had no sheets on the bed. When my wife called the front desk he asked if we were sure? He assigned us a second room and there were sheets on the bed but the carpet looked like a herd of dirty pigs had been living there for weeks. As it was very late in the day we decided to stay, but wore our shoes the entire time we were in the room. The breakfast included actually was a 15% off coupon at the diner next door. Very misleading. I guess the old adage applies “You get what you pay for.”

Plus all the dead bees in the pool. The wifi password free buffet is a joke since they just give coupons for 15% off total order at JB's restaurant next door. And the poop in the parking block photo wasn't the only pile in the parking lot

I was surprised that the stay was good. We travel with a small dog so we require the “Dog” friendly room and it was adequate for one night. Why they have carpet in a “dog” room baffles me. Replace that with some laminate….it was pretty bad. The room was quiet and clean as was the bathroom. There was a nice area for bbq next to the pool and the pool was very clean and look well kept. We will definitely stay here again. There’s no breakfast unfortunately that would be a nice added extra for what you are paying per night. Front desk people were very nice. Over all a good stay.

Sorry but I have no idea about that. I was just visiting family and stayed a couple of nights. I would hope that all of their renovations are done by now but I don't know.
There are more places to choose from in the Vernal area.
