Every cabin has a front and back entrance, and a covered porch for viewing the rock formations, the Velvet Ridge, cedars, and pinion pines. As the early morning sun changes its position in the sky, one can sit and watch these sandstone mountains turn bright orange, then coral, and finally almost a pure white. The spacious cabins have two queen beds and a television with VCR. Bathrooms have bathtub with shower. A kitchen affords each guest with the option of cooking in or eating out. The kitchen includes sink, range, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, glass table with chairs, and cooking and eating utensils.

Detailed Reviews
if you are looking for a nice place to 'social distance', this is it! I discovered Pine Shadows a couple years ago, and it has become my new place to escape the hub-bub of busy life and explore some of the best geography Utah has to offer. Usually I stay in one of the single cabins, but this time splurged and stayed in the 'big cabin'. With a full kitchen, enough beds for a family, two bath, a full living room and a lovely outdoor table w/umbrella, it was my own personal penthouse. The cabins are always clean and well-kept, and the starry view out the large windows while laying in bed is so comforting. The fact you can walk out the front door and begin exploring millions of acres of public land just adds to the magic. You won't regret staying here, I promise you.

Pine Shadow Cabins offer a perfect get away for relaxation, rejuvenation and health. These cabins are in an area and spaced apart enough to afford quietness, beauty and peace. They are impeccably clean and stocked to make indoor cooking convenient plus offer a small grill at each cabin for outdoor grilling. The area offers a number of non populated trails outside of Capital Reef National Park but if park trails are desired, Capitol Reef is only 12 miles away. Steve and Debbie could not be more gracious hosts. They verbalized having increased their cleaning to include disinfecting the frequent touched areas along with the usual cleaning standards they have always followed all in response to COVID-19. These cabins offer a perfect opportunity to get away to a place which offers space, health and safety. We highly recommend Pine Shadows and when staying in our house per current federal standards becomes overbearing for us, we will be back to breath clean air and exercise in the non populated southern Utah majesty.

We went down to do some social distancing/hiking in Capitol Reef and stayed at these cabins. They were extremely clean, cozy, and had a full kitchen so we could bring all of our own food so as to not put pressure on Torrey's grocery store. The landscape was amazing and quiet. Hosts were very helpful and checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything. Great place to stay all around. Highly recommended!

What I delightful stay we had at Pine Shadow Cabins. Our cabin was surprisingly large! There was plenty of space for my friend and me. The kitchenette is well stocked. There is a full sized refrigerator and a nice drip coffee maker with filters and coffee. Debbie and Steve made sure we had everything we needed, and even cleaned the charcoal grill for us each day while we hiked in the park. I highly recommend staying here! We were only about 10 minutes from the entrance to the park.

OK, it's close to Capitol Reef NP, Grand Staircase Escalante, and a wealth of outdoor possibilities, but there's something else: these cabins are clean. Really clean! We've stayed here numerous times over the years, and the cabins are always clean and well maintained. On our most recent stay, we even found that all the cutlery had been nicely sharpened. It's little things like that...

We have stayed at the Pine Shadows Cabins for 5 years in a row. It has worked out as a great "Base Camp" for exploring the Capitol Reef National Park area. The owners Steve & Debbie are great. They make sure that everything is ready for your stay and if you need anything during your stay they will take care of it right away. The location is just "Rural" enough to have quiet evenings but close enough to amenities (Restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc). BTW...We will be returning in October 2020 for the fall colors. One more thing, these are individual cabins so they are great for "Social Distancing" in these trying times. Also, they are pet friendly.

We had a really lovely stay at Pine Shadows Cabins over Memorial Day weekend. I really can't say enough good things about it. The location is perfect. It has a rural feel, but it's an easy drive into Capitol Reef. We also enjoyed hiking south of Boulder, and the beautiful drive between Teasdale and Escalante. We rented the cabin that sleeps 6 and it was perfect for our family. It was spacious and very, very clean, which was a great comfort during this crazy pandemic. I know other guests were staying at the property, but we never saw anyone else because it's very private. Because of the COVID-19 situation we didn't know what would be open so we brought our own food and having a kitchen was a lifesaver. One night we ate dinner on the patio and we enjoyed stargazing on the patio at night.
There is basic TV and internet, and a range of movies to choose from in the office area. We used the living room to play games in the evening and it's a wonderful gathering spot. We were also grateful for the 1 full bath and 1 half bath for our family of 6. We truly loved staying here and hope to return and will recommend to our friends and family. This is definitely the place to stay when visiting the area.

We spent a few nights here on our 5 National Park trip. It was out in the country, and had beautiful views.
There was an extra bedroom. There was a nice patio out back with an amazing up close view of the mountains. Plenty of chairs and even a patio table with umbrella.
The kitchen was very well stocked, and we were able to prepare our own breakfasts while there.
My only picky thing was that almost all of the chairs rocked, and they make me seasick. Otherwise it was a great stop on our journey. The host was great to answer any questions we had. We did not use, but office had TONS of movies, books, etc.

We try to stay here at least once a year and have been doing so for many years. Debbie and Steve work very hard to keep these cabins in top shape and extremely clean. It is so quiet, and if you raise the blinds at night you can stargaze from your bed. We went as soon as they opened this year, figuring it might be a while before another chance and wanting a news break (they do have TV and internet, if you must). So glad we did. When things even out again, please support these sweet, hard-working people and their beautiful cabins.

Loved our visit with both of our adult children (before they go back to college). We stayed in the large cabin and it was clean and comfortable. The cabin was quiet and cool in this week's above ave heat. With it being so hot we missed a couple of afternoon hikes and just chilled at the cabin watching a couple DVDs (tv screen is small, but fine) and talking. Each morning we made our breakfast and ate on the patio and watched the mountain side warm up. We only live 3 hours away and we will be back! Great visit.
