Detailed Reviews
Very clean, quiet, updated motel. We had a 2nd floor room and the motel staff helped us carry our luggage to our room. The room has been updated and easily compares to chained hotel rooms that are twice the price. It is not right off the interstate and you have to make a U-turn on a busy road to get to it but it is a very small issue. The desk clerk was very helpful with suggestions for dinner and breakfast.

We just needed one night with no frills and this delivered. It was clean and amenable. The nighttime was very quiet even though we were on the main street. The bed was comfortable, the room had kitchen facilities--we didn't use but it was there and clean.
This place is within walking distance of several restaurants.
In January there is no front desk open but you are provided with a code for your room pass. VERY reasonably priced.

So glad we found this place, close to DSU, on a main road but still quiet. Contactless check in was smooth, they sent a voice message detaining how to access our room key. They do not have someone manning the phone 24/7, we needed to extend our stay but they did not answer the phone after 8 PM or before 9 AM, I just had to leave a message and hope that we could stay in our same room since we had to leave early in the AM for Zion National Park (they did contact us after 9 AM). We had the queen studio, very clean, bed very comfortable, loved the shower. Great amenities although the kitchen area was not supplied with any plates, utensils or cooking pans (understandable during COVID) so couldn't have used the 2 burner stove even if we wanted to. Would definitely stay here again.

We arrived without any expectations and found a large, bright, quiet room, tastefully furnished. Everything new, quality towels, refrigerator with a small freezer. We only stayed one night but it was very pleasant.

We were looking for a budget property for a two night stay in St. George. On paper, The Chalet looked like a good choice. We were not disappointed, in the least. In it's former life, The Chalet was a Rodeway Inn that we happened to stay in about 14 years ago. The new owners have completely renovated the property. Our room was a good size. The in room refrigerator actually had a freezer....great to refreeze the cool packs for our cooler. The beds were excellent. Most budget properties seem to have flimsy, small bath towels. Not The Chalet! The towels were a good size and fluffy. There was plenty of hot water and a rain shower head. Honestly, we have stayed in hotel rooms at twice the price that were no nicer than the room we had.
It may make a difference to other travelers that there is not free breakfast or swimming pool. There are plenty of restaurants with in walking distance or an easy drive. The units closer to St. George Boulevard had some road noise. But, for us, it wasn't a big deal.
We were delighted to find this wonderful, locally owned gem. It will be our headquarters on future visits to St. George.

From start to finish--a wonderful experience. The young man, Jose, at the front desk couldn't have been more helpful and professional. I've stayed in a Best Western, a Hampton Inn, and a Sleep Inn on this road trip and the Chalet Motel is head and shoulders above all of them while being the most affordable at the same time.
Spotlessly clean, newly remodeled, spacious room; comfortable bed; quiet. Excellent shower and plush towels. You can't go wrong here.

This aging motel has been renovated. It is clean and functional, centrally located in St George. It has a full kitchenette with full size refrigerator. Heat was turned on prior to my arrival (chilly December night) - thank you! Road noise was slightly bothersome on a Friday night, however it might not be an issue on weeknights.
The owners are striving for excellence in this motel. I anticipate further touches of feminine charm to boost the property value.

Traveling from Park City Utah to LA I thought St. George would be a good place to stop for the night. This place is a real find. Clean, spacious, wonderful linens and modern amenities I couldn't have been happier. I have since recommended the Chalet to friends traveling through st. George and they felt the same way. It is my go to place when making the Utah / CA run!

This place seemed like it was new. Everything was fresh, clean, and in excellent condition. It's small, but that is of no consequence. The parking space was big enough. The bed was big enough. The bath room was big enough. Come to think of it, everything was just the right size, kind of like what Goldilocks found.
I tried it because it was highly rated and the cost was very affordable. I'll be back. Let's hope it doesn't end up being booked 100% all the time. I will have done myself a disservice by talking well of them. Still, they deserve it.
No, it's not a luxury hotel, but who needs on when this place is available?
I don't stay in St. George very often, but I can recommend this place.

We stayed here last night. Very reasonable rates and very clean room. Our room was L-shaped and we had two queen beds in each part of the L. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom part with the toilet and shower is a "touch" small as you have to go all the way in to be able to close the door as the end of the door misses the toilet by about an inch and a half. Not a big deal, just an observation.
Ok, we stayed in room 101. If you stay here see if you can get a room further away from 101. The reason is room 101 is the first room right by St. George Blvd. You will hear traffic go by. Still, we would stay here again...just not this room if possible.

no. there's only first and second floor and stairs.
No, they do not allow pets.
No - this is a motel but very nice.
There is not.
Yes, there are at least three (including a Taco Bell) within a block, including a restaurant across the street from the motel. If "walking distance" is 3 or 4 blocks, there are several more to choose from. Use Tripadvisor to search for restaurants in St George and key in Chalet Motel on the map that appears to the right of the identified restaurants. Tripadvisor will show you the restaurants near the motel and let you review the comments, menu and websites on most of them. Enjoy St George. It is an interesting place.
