We have never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast so we were not sure what to expect. Needless to say, our 1st experience was our best one! The staff is super friendly and nice. The food for breakfast was outstanding and left us very full. Also, it was a huge blessing that they were able to make Gluten Free food, as I have Celiac Disease and it makes it a challenge to eat out often. The room we stayed in was the Kitty Hines room and we loved it. Super quiet and decorated nicely. We loved the jetted tub and the large selection of DVD movies to just grab at our liking. We only watched one movie but it was nice to just be able to make yourself at home. The Hines Mansion is central to a lot of other things nearby, which we didn't know about as we never stayed in Utah before. There were many types of restaurants nearby within walking distance. We also enjoyed the town of Provo and all the fun things to do in the town and surrounding area. If time allows, we will likely go again one day.…
We loved our stay at Hines. My mum and I were passing through (travelling from Australia) and didn’t realise the ‘romantic’ vibe of the place when we booked, we laughed looking at the visitor book in our room. The owners were so welcoming and warm to us, even taking us on a tour of other room. Breakfast was beautiful. Thank you so much for a short but memorable experience for my mother and I while passing through. I would definitely come and back and recommend!
I stayed at the Hines Mansion in mid-February 2022 while attending a writer's symposium. It is within walking distance to the Convention Center, Front Runner train station, two grocery stores, and many restaurants. From the beginning, I felt welcomed. When I arrived, the door to my room was open and waiting for me. The room had a jacuzzi which I used to warm myself from the Provo, Utah cold. There was also a private entrance so I could come and go as I pleased. Kyle made the most wonderful gourmet breakfasts! I loved the cinnamon roll french toast the best! I loved that there were snacks and beverages available at all times. Fresh fruit, chocolate chip cookies, peppermints, popcorn, cocoa, and tea. Why would you stay at a hotel? The Hines Mansion costs less than the Marriott! I will definitely stay there again, but next time I will bring my spouse for a romantic weekend.…
We loved this fine old hotel. It was a true B & B. Great service, unique room, and nice guest-friendly pluses; fresh baked cookies, bottled water, microwave popcorn, and a large selection of DVDs. The breakfast was served with two settings and was full-filling and tasty. Guests were welcome to sit and visit in the living room which contained fine old antiques. Our room, however, off the kitchen, had its own entrance which probably contributed to the stained carpet.
I didn't like the check in protocol. When we arrived there was a sign on the door saying to look at your email for instructions on how to check in. I had all the emails for my trip printed so I looked at them and didn't see the relevant information. Since I had been travelling all day my phone was almost dead but luckily it lasted long enough for me to retrieve the email they had just sent me two hours prior (while I was in route). It would have been easier if I had received the email the prior day/evening. Once you use the email instructions to get in the door they just have the keys to all the rooms laying on a table. I didn't feel like that practice was very safe. The house is really cute, it was clean, and was nicely decorated for Halloween. Our room was large and cute but the bed wasn't very comfortable. The giant tub was clean but odd that it was right by the entry door to the room so you wouldn't want to be showering or using the tub if anyone was going to come or go from your room. Our room was directly next to the front door to the house so if timed incorrectly someone could easily see you bathing. The walls here are not thick. We had multiple issues because of this. Since we were at the front near the street we heard lots of noise from outside. Also, any time someone would enter or exit the house we would hear everything. The worst part is that we could hear all of the "fun" another couple was having in the room near to us. Breakfast was amazing! The girls that were making breakfast were nice and the food was fresh, hot, filling, and tasty.…
I booked in Nov 2019 for our trip in June 2020. We booked the Library (which has a secret bookcase doorway to the restroom) & the Lodge (which has its own entrance). Augustina was an AMAZING house host!!! She is very friendly & has the best laugh. We want to stay friends with her! The house is very well decorated in period pieces & is very comfortable. Leah makes the BEST custom breakfast ever!! She understands gluten free & vegetarian. She is great at conversation & is very professional. She was meant to do this job! We love the staff, the location and the property. We would highly recommend this place & we will staying there again.
I love old historic properties. This B@B was oozing charm and eccentric class. The check-in process went fast and quick. The lady who checked us in was kind and courtesy. I am not naming the room, that could single me out and I ask for no explanation as to why I reviewed it this way. I am a traveler I have seen a lot and do not mind paying for excellent accommodations. This comes to my first complaint, I felt the value of the stay did not match the cost. At 160 a night I expect above average complimentary services. We are offered k cup coffee and not a good cup of coffee with real cream or half and half. I understand that most of the client base does not drink coffee. However, K-cup coffee is being cheap. We went and found a coffee shop for our cup of coffee that morning. I feel spa-quality shampoo and soaps should be offered. Sure you put something in a bottle and say it this product. Maybe offer a small welcome kit on the bed for guests in the future. The bathtub in the room looked like it came from a second-hand store. Lastly, I thought breakfast could have been made better at IHOP. Too sweet and too cheap. The linens provided a cozy night sleep. The mattress made me envious. I slept like a log and was well-rested in the morning. The other rooms were themed as well and furnished with classy touches. The host of the place was accommodating. Overall, it was an average experience, sadly I was expecting more.…
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely place! Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was beautifully decorated, with lots of creative touches, and we were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, too! We definitely recommend a stay here!
Great place to stay in Provo! Beautifully decorated, comfy bed, jet tub, and breakfast was great. Walking distance to BYU, downtown, restaurants, etc. Really interesting history of the place. Couldn’t ask for anything more!
My wife and I stayed here for a little get away from the hum and grim of everyday life. The expirence was excellent. - Location was great, near good eats and some fun entertainment. - Room was clean, cool library style penthouse with tub, hidden door. - House was decorated with lots of really cool historic items. - Breakfast was unique and really yummy! - Hosptality of the owners was great! Everything was well taken care of.
