Just can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our experience here. Wonderful facility and people. Spacious room. Wonderful location on the mountain. Excellent ski lockers and assistance from the valets. The staff were particularly attentive and helpful throughout our stay.

We arrived during prime spring break and the rates reflected that - it is a very expensive hotel and therefore my expectations are high. Within that framework, I was disappointed in my stay. First, the pros - the location is amazing for ski in ski out. Renting equipment and getting out to ski couldn’t be easier and the staff that works in the rental shop and ski locker room are amazing! They are so helpful and friendly. Our room had a hot tub on the balcony with a Mountain View that was gorgeous. Breakfast is great - they give you too much food. There’s always a line in the morning for the restaurant- it’s not too long 10 - 15 minutes tops but it seems like the wait is caused by this weird process they use to seat people. Apres ski is very disappointing- maybe it is due to COVID but it was impossible to get a table or a place to sit - there is no preference for hotel guests. The shuttle is not very convenient- several times we called it on the app and the wait was 45 minutes to an hour so we called an Uber. This was frustrating because we were assured the shuttle would run every 30 minutes. The Glitretind restaurant was very underwhelming. It was very expensive for mediocre food (considering the prices) and the wine list was ridiculously marked up. Finally, I had to call 3 times to arrange a ride to the airport and follow up each time - just not what I expect from a hotel like this. I would probably check out the Montage next time.

Stayed here last week. Great location and property, but it’s impossible to eat or get a drink as a hotel guest. I tried to get some drinks after skiing this weekend, and they said I had to wait in a huge line with tons of people. The line was inside too, during the pandemic, which isn’t comfortable. If you pay $2,000 a night, you should be able to have a beer on the patio after a day of skiing—no questions asked. It’s a nice place overall, but if having lunch at the hotel or a drinks after skiing are important to you, look into the Montage. They’re only opening their bars and restaurants to hotel guests.

Overall a great experience. You can’t beat the location, but the customer service situation at the restaurant is lacking. Stein Eriksen—unlike the Montage—opens its restaurant for lunch and Apres to non-hotel guests. The result is that hotel guests either can’t eat or drink at the restaurant during a ski day without a reservation or need to wait very long to do so. My husband and I—who had a room—tried to get lunch here Saturday and then a drink here after skiing Sunday. Each time, the hostess made us wait in a 30-60 minute line indoor with dozens of people, which felt very unsafe due to COVID. While we like the rooms, location, and amenities, this situation was not acceptable for people paying $1,000 - $3,000 a night. Many other guests were complaining as well. The hotel should reserve tables/fire pits for hotel guests.

The Lodge is a great place to stay- we’ve been coming here for the past 3 years and mainly due to the convenience on the mountain. Rooms are nice but seem like they could be updated. The food is absolutely terrible and stuck in another decade. The skiers brunch is by far the biggest rip off. The quality of food is something you’d find at a cheap hotel and how they get away with serving such poor quality is extremely surprising. Overpriced garbage that wouldn’t work in any high end resort but since the chef seems to be completely out of touch with reality, he gets away with it somehow - even though it seems other reviews agree it’s beyond terrible. It’s an utter disgrace that this continues. When the best item on your menu is a burger (which is a 6 out of 10) something is wrong. The rest of the lunch and dinner menu seems to cater to anyone who could care less about their health (lots of heavy options with awful sauces). How about a decent salad? No, not a Caesar salad loaded with dressing and cheese, that was considered ‘healthy’ 15 years ago. Breakfast is actually good, albeit not remotely creative or with offerings anyone would consider creative or current but at least you can eat semi- healthy. Here is a little hint, the majority of skiers are fairly healthy and in shape so why serve them food that is the compete antithesis? This place severely needs a new executive chef since the current one is clearly out of touch. Quick tip - the skiers brunch is pre-fixe and you can’t order a single thing. The cheap ingredients used don’t remotely validate the cost of the meal. Don’t get suckered into it. Eat in the lounge where at least you have options - even if they aren’t great - just bring a Lipitor.
