This is an old school no fluff true skiers lodge. Probably one of few left in the country. Perfect location. It is true that this old lodge does not have great sound proofing but I could not believe that every night after 930P we could not hear a pin drop from anyone else. Maybe because there are generally older people that stay here. Never saw kids. I also saw the owner out early in the morning removing the 8 inches of snow that fell overnight off my car to make it easy for us to get out. Who does that? Amazing! Old yes but clean, comfortable, cozy, convenient. The money I saved by staying here paid for my lift ticket, dinner and drinks for 3 every day.
This is our second time staying here and its awesome. Great location, only five minute walk from Park City base resort and a short walk from downtown. Its clean, the wifi and tv are tops, and the staff that work here are helpfull and friendly. If your looking for affordable lodging in Park City this is your place!
It seems like every year skiing becomes more and more of a "luxury" experience... Spas, big flat screens, equipment valets... These all drive eye popping prices at the lift ticket counter and at the hotel. Not so at Chateau Apres Lodge (CAL). CAL embraces a decidedly European (read: utilitarian) approach to the ski experience... The beds? Totally adequate. The shower? Warm. The location? Phenomenal. The price? Absolutely unbeatable. Other reviews nit pick to the point that I begin to wonder if they even came to Park City to ski? Seriously guys, this place is close to the slopes, you can walk to town, and it doesn't cost $300 a night. 'nuf said!!!!
I loved Chateau Apres Lodge. First, it's location is right at the base of the mountain and a short walk to downtown meaning I didn't need to get a car. Second, it's been family-run for 3 generations by a warm and friendly family. Lastly, it feels like home with a lovely and warm fireplace, common dining area and affordable rooms and dorms. I wish there were more places to stay like this as alternatives to over-priced resorts.
We just booked a 5-day stay with Chateau Apres Lodge during the busiest two weeks of the year, which is unbelievable already. Jason responded to my email right away, and stayed on the phone with me patiently until all my questions were answered. He solved a glitch in our reservation, and he gave us guidance not only about the property itself but the surrounding areas, activities, weather conditions, and driving tips. I am even more excited about our trip now because it feels like we are going to see someone we already know. My experience so far echos all the great reviews I have read about this place.
This has to be the best place to stay in Park City. Jason, Ed and Jose were all friendly and very helpful with everything. I think there are so many advantages with staying at a family run lodge/hotel. Breakfast was great each morning. Rooms were clean with very comfortable beds. I like how close the lodge is to main street and the city bus system. I would definitely stay at Chateau Apres again.
I really enjoyed my stay. Me and my Canadian buddy were there 10 nights. The room was comfortable and warm. And clean. The location is great, basically behind the Park City Library where I saw most of the films I viewed at Sundance 2020. Plus, the lodge is very close to the Shop which is adjacent to the library where I attended three musical events part of the festival. Didn’t partake in their continental breakfast other than drinking a glass of orange juice. The family that runs the lodge is very nice, as are the other folks who work there. The fireplace in the lobby is an excellent gathering place. Met more than a few nice people there and I didn’t spend much time there. All and all, a great stay.
Chateau Apres Lodge is home away from home. Great continental breakfast. Friendly, welcoming people such as Ed, Jason, and Jose, who are among Park City's finest. Warm and cozy private rooms. Great casual atmosphere. Comfortable beds that provide a wonderful night's sleep. Convenient to Main Street and nearly anywhere else you want to be in Park City. Every time I visit, it is better than the time before. Highly recommend if you are on a budget and want a warm, wonderful, comfortable lodge to come home to when you are away from home. Solid five stars.
This was my third year at the chateau. Simple accommodations, very clean! They have a basic breakfast set up in the morning. The owner and staff are very nice people, willing to help with whatever they can. Very reasonable prices considering you can walk to the lift and downtown. A+ in my book.
This is our second time at Chateau Après Lodge. We returned mainly because it was such a great deal during the most expensive week in the year, and we like the location — very close to the slopes and easy access to downtown with an excellent and free bus service. Rooms are spacious and clean. You receive enough breakfast to get you going on the slopes. I am giving it a 4 rather than a 5 because the WiFi system is not working well and during our stay, we often did not get WiFi in our room.
