We recently stayed at the Chateaux for a weekend as part of a family graduation celebration, which included not only staying at the property and enjoying some of its amenities, but also having a catered party there. The room we stayed in on the 4th floor was lovely, with a fireplace and large bathroom (great shower, two sinks and a fridge and microwave). The floor space was a bit tight but it's not like we were spending much time in the room.
The pool was small but had everything we needed to cool off from the mountain sun, with a closet full of clean towels and even a thoughtful touch of bottles of water. The pool itself was the perfect temperature - cool enough to feel refreshing but not so cool as to deter you from getting in.
We enjoyed the restaurant for the breakfast buffet which included a nice spread of yogurts, breads, cereals, and fruits as well as scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and pancakes. The servers were extremely attentive, refilling our juices and coffees. You don't always get great service at a buffet but that was not the case here.
The graduation part itself was also beautifully executed. It was on the lawn of the Chateaux with a buffet set up nicely and thoughtful touches like umbrellas over the service area, drink table, and dessert table as it was quite warm and sunny. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. The service, like at breakfast, was very attentive. The folks who oversaw our party were there to ensure we had what we needed. As I was helping the host family set up ahead of other guests arriving, we realized we needed scissors to cut strings on balloons - bam, there are scissors. Then we realized we needed a small side table for cards and gifts - bam, there's a table (with tablecloth no less). As it got hotter, they helped us move in more umbrellas over the tables. And they ensured no finished plate stayed on a table for more than a few minutes before being whisked away. Like at breakfast, the service was a surprise delight because often with buffets you get little of any service during the actual meal but again, the Chateaux delivered.
Definitely recommend this property as both a lovely place to stay and also a great place for catering and hosting a get together.

Spring 2024 was our 9th year at The Chateaux!! While there are many great resorts to stay at in Deer Valley, we return to the Stein Property-The Chateaux- for many reasons like location and ambiance but mostly for the excellent service, staff, and personnel that always takes care of our needs. I don't know of another resort that would take such care to collect and safely return our credit card that was left at a neighboring resort during our dinner. The Chateaux employees went above and beyond to securely return our credit card and our laundry that we had left behind. Special thanks to managers Alex S., Alex L., the front desk staff- Sharon, Roana, Alisha, Kemmolyn, Roxi, Cosette, Hannah, Lyn, Temple, Noah, Patrick, and Dean. Further compliments to Yakob, Billy, Christopher, Marcus, Angel, and Edgar in the restaurant/bar areas for making our dining experience special. We are also grateful for the bell staff and commend Brian, Adam, Hawkeye, Noah, Patrick, Blue, Tajmar, and Dean along with Clive in housekeeping.
DV is the greatest place to ski in North America and The Chateaux is still our #1 choice in DV. Many of the rooms are updated and beautiful with many more to come. I highly recommend this resort and its staff.

I might be the only person who didn't think this hotel was great. I stayed in a King-Bed Room and it was tiny and claustrophobic. There wasn't anywhere to really sit and relax other than the bed. My room was located farthest away from the lobby: down multiple hallways and behind 2 sets of doors (in a corner). It felt isolated from any help or service. The setup also felt like a fire hazard. For whatever reason I kept having this terrifying thought that if the place caught fire, there would be no way out for many guests given the tight layout and odd clusters of rooms with only one way out.
In addition, I didn't like that the drive-up experience meant going into a garage. The room service menu was very limited. No real views to enjoy. The property overall is dated and dingy looking with chips on baseboards everywhere and an old rickety elevator.
I was uncomfortable staying at this property for multiple reasons and I wouldn't return. Normally I would leave it at that. But I felt compelled to write this review given the steep price tag of my room. I paid $1100/night for a room and experience that was worth about $400/night max.

Dear Skitrip377, We are sorry to hear that your experience at The Chateaux Deer Valley did not live up to your expectations. Please know that we are in the process of room renovations that started last winter ski season. We have been updating rooms in waves to limit the impact on our guests. We expect all rooms will be fully renovated by the end of 2025. In addition, we are renovating the entrance, lobby, and lounge areas to increase the experience upon arrival. Many travelers love the larger resort style setting making it feel like they have their own piece of the mountains and privacy. Lastly, safety and security of guests is a top priority for the entire Stein Collection. We appreciate your comments and will take them into consideration as we finalize our improvements.

Our families experience at the Chateaux Deer Valley was exceptional, over the top! We stayed two nights in three pristine rooms that connected to one another. Perfect for families and friends, business partners, or any group to have their own space yet still be able to gather for coffee, snacks, conversation and games. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds, reading chairs with a view, a roomy work desk, a big television and they even had a fireplace in every room. Bathrooms were clean and had all the amenities one could need. We also had a balcony with a spectacular mountain view. We all felt very relaxed and grateful for having the chance to breathe in the fresh mountain air. You can't beat the location.
The hiking and biking is world class as well as the many restaurants in the area including Historic Main Street only a five minute drive away. The award winning Cena Ristorante is part of the hotel. A restaurant and bar with great food, great service and outdoor seating. I travel a lot and will say that the complimentary breakfast buffet is now on the top of my list!
The staff really went out of their way to accommodate our precious time here with family, helping make the experience fun, entertaining and stress free. Managers Alex and Ashley, "Front Desk Charlie" and Concierge Temple among many others made sure our stay in Park City was first class. They were very knowledgable and had answers to our questions. Great answers, and if they didn't they would find one. Everyone on staff was not only helpful, but also wanted to be. It seemed as though everyone working there was happy to be of service and actually enjoyed their job. All done with a smile :) I too work in the service industry and see why Chateaux is considered having five star service!!!
I would highly recommend staying at the Chateaux Deer Valley whether it be for business, pleasure (you'll get both) a gathering of family and friends, a wedding, an event or just need some privacy, this is the place to come for impeccable service, accommodation, food with both indoor and outdoor activities.
Thank You Chateaux Staff for making our family get together an actual get together :)
Sincerely, Ben

It's our second time staying at The Chateaux. The first time was not as bad as the second one but it was a very short stay so I can't give a full review. During our first stay I lost my hat in the hotel and when I sent an email to ask if they have it they told me that they will call me back. They never did and when I eventually called them a few days later, they said they never found the hat. A courtesy call or message to inform me would suffice. Whereas in St Regis where my husband left his watch at the spa, the staff went high and low to reach to him (and they found the watch).
The second time we were here we stayed for 8 nights in Feb 2021. I cannot say anything memorable during our stay there from Day 1 sadly.
The housekeeping was unsatisfactory throughout our whole stay. Dining table was never wiped, pillow cushions were still on the floor from the time we left to the time we got back to the room, food and bread crumbs on the rug which were not hoovered for days and not a single water bottle to replenish everyday. We then had to ask them to make sure we have enough water in the room. I had to write them an email asking for a better housekeeping on Day 4. They tried but still not to the a satisfactory standard I was hoping for in any hotels; basic cleanliness.
Due to COVID they were no buffet but they fixed the breakfast menus for you and bring them to your table. It's not the same everyday but you'll get the same menu every other day. Which is fine but I was hoping that they would at least make their guests some toast as an everyday or optional menu (like the have for oat porridge). I asked if they can make me a toast of bread as I don't fancy anything else. They were unable to do it (even though they have breads it the kitchen). On the last few days, they ran out of space that there was a long queue for everyone before they can be seated.
A few days before we left The Chateaux we ordered two glasses of wine for dinner. It was served in a glass covered with a cling wrap and paper. We only drank one of them and left the other one untouched and had put it aside. The next day the wine was gone and we called to ask where they had put it. The housekeeping told that they found the glass in their staffroom and they will return it back to us. We then heard a knock on the door and came our missing wine. I was not pleased as I do not know where it's been so I declined the wine and called the reception. Unfortunately the reception was not helpful but the housekeeping called to apologize and gave us a bottle of wine to makeup for it.
We do however love the location. it's right opposite to the ski in/ski out and the opposite restaurant Goldener Hirsch is one of the best restaurants we have been to. We would just walk there for dinner every night. If you don't mind the service, the Chateaux has all the basic facilities you'd need and the location is amazing. But we will not be staying with them after our second experience sadly. The price we paid is too high for the service they offer.

My husband and I have been staying at The Chateaux for 23 years now. We’ve had mostly great experiences and a few that were not so great. We’ve had all types of rooms…from the best suites they have to the worst looking studios. All of the rooms at this property are very different because many are privately owned and there doesn’t seem to be any standard when it comes to the type of furniture they allow. We traveled very far from Florida on this trip, and had called multiple times to request a nicer room and to make sure they would accommodate us. After spending well over 100k in total over the years, we believed we would be given a decent room. The front desk manager, Natalie, showed us 2 rooms. Both awful. Like something out of The Brady Bunch. We were upset and asked for a better quality room. She told us we would have to wait until the next day to see what was available. Also, Alex the hotel manager got involved, but did nothing to help us. My husband and I found them both to be very rude and flippant. The next day I called Natalie to inquire about moving us to a better room. She was incredibly rude to me and told me she actually listened to my phone calls to the hotel when I made the reservation and tried to say I wasn’t being truthful in my request. She treated me like a criminal. As if I was lying and Alex was just as rude to my husband. For 800 dollars a night, staying in a hotel room that looks like the Motel 6 is absurd and disgusting. Treating us as if we were nothing after spending the amount of money we have spent is horrible and despicable. Besides the awful managers and how they treated us, Jacob, Billy, and Angel from Cena were wonderful to us. They treated us the way patrons should be treated. My husband and I are beyond disappointed and upset by our entire experience. Shame on you, Chateaux. You should treat your patrons so much better.

Thank you for providing your feedback on your stay with us. While it saddens us to see this review, we appreciate receiving reviews from all our guests. We take requests into account on every reservation and try our best to meet those. Unfortunately, there are times when we can’t fulfill specific room requests for various reasons. Multiple managers looked at options to provide a solution for you, but with the occupancy with the holiday weekend we weren’t able to find something that met your needs. We hope you are able to find a property that suits you better for any future visits you may make to Park City.

Recently, my husband and I traveled to Deer Valley to visit our favorite Utah hotel, The Chateaux, and this trip exceeded every single expectation we had from this incredible property. Firstly, I have to give a special shoutout to Michael Provenzano, the front office manager. Michael called us ahead of time and let us know that because we had been coming to the Chateaux for 20 plus years, he was upgrading our room. He also allowed us to get the attached King bedroom for a very reasonable price as well, so we had a large bed and more room to move around. When we arrived, we were greeted by Michael and his wonderful staff at the front desk. Everyone was so eager to help us in anyway we needed and made us feel immediately welcome, which was amazing after such a long trip. Now, to the room we were given....I was BLOWN AWAY by the beauty and extraordinary view of the room...As world travelers, we have stayed in 5 star resorts in the US and abroad , and my husband and I looked at each other and were both speechless. We knew that we were upgraded to this room because of the kindness and care of Michael, and we were beyond grateful. For all of us , this year has been one of the worst ever, so coming to the Chateaux for a week of relaxation and respite, was extraordinary. It truly rejuvenated us both. Even though there was no snow all week, the slopes were perfectly groomed and my husband said it was some of the best skiing he has had in a long time. Breakfast was delicious each morning and was served family style for safety. Every staff member was meticulous in following Covid protocol and we felt perfectly safe each day. On the day that we left, I truly did not want to leave because of how amazing this trip was. If I could give the staff and the Chateaux a 10 star review I certainly would. If you are lucky enough to visit Deer Valley in your travel plans, I would highly recommend you don't miss staying at this fabulous property.

A remarkable place nestled in the ski slopes of Deer Valley. The summers here are more enticing than the winter! The view from our suites made us never want to leave the room. But above all, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly. Temple, the concierge, raised in Park City, guided us through getting tickets for the lift ride up the mountain for a lovely hike. She was able to recommend local restaurants, including making reservations for things we enjoyed. Very personable.

This was an excellent place to stay in Deer Valley. Prices were more moderate than the “fancy” resorts nearby, but the quality was still excellent. Chateaux is at 8000'. Definitely take the necessary precautions (drink lots of water, rest and relaxation on your first day or two) and you should be alright!

The Chateuax is about 45 minutes from Salt Lake City. I have not been there during the pandemic but during normal times Lyft and Uber were readily available
Same mattress/bedding - really comfy! And if you tell the front desk you’re using the Murphy, they’ll provide turn down daily. We switched off and had adults or kids sleeping in it and it was great.
I was there in dead of winter so I don’t know. They had 2 hot tubs outside that they said not to bring drinks to. I will say the service was impeccable so they would likely help out with anything they could.
There are more places to choose from in the Park City area.
