We absolutely LOVED our 3 night stay at The Chateaux! The hotel and room were very comfortable so convenient for skiing at Deer Valley. Just a short walk and we were on the lift. The hotel service and staff were exceptional!. Hawkeye always had a friendly greeting from the front desk and Kade greeted us each morning for breakfast at Cana. Shuttle rides with Alex, Nick & Brian quickly took us anywhere we wanted to go in the Park City area. We will definitely be back!!
The good - Was in a 3 bedroom suite. Furniture was very nice, large kitchen, living room, spacious bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Great location. Able to rent skis, walk across the street and get on the lift. Could have easily slept 7 (have a Murphy bed as well). The not so good - We were told when we scheduled it months in advance that the pool area may not be ready yet. They haven't even broken ground. The view from our suite (and half the hotel) overlooked what will be the future area, which is a mess right now. Given access to the spa across the street, though had to request it for our group (otherwise guests can use the outdoor hot tub and pool at the other hotel but not the spa). Thermostat in multiple rooms did not function properly. One of my friends was in the other wing accessible through the garage. Had an outside door to their building that was left open. When they expressed safety concerns, were told that it had to stay open 24x7 for construction access. At breakfast, have a buffet but against policy to take a plate back to your room, have to eat there. Not sure the logic with that when we had a full kitchen and dining table. At the bar, different policy depending on time. Sometimes (earlier especially) will let you drink but ask that you look at a menu. Other times, have a one drink max if you don't order food. Other times, will not serve you unless you order food. Said it was a state law but the hotel across the street had no problem serving us drinks. Check in staff not the most friendly. Probably would not go back.…
We loved everything about our stay at The Chateaux Deer Valley. We stayed in the room with the Murphy bed which was very comfortable. The room was very spacious and felt more like a condo. The best part was we were able to walk across the street and hop on a lift. We would ski until lunch then come in to eat before going back out to ski some more. We were able to rent our skis in the lobby which was great. We had room service from Cena one night and the pizza was great. They had live music for Apre ski one day so we were able to relax by the fire and listen to music. I would suggest requesting to be in the main hotel. Highly recommend the Chateaux!!
Unimpressive experience and definitely not worth the money. Check in staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Room located in a second wing-- that means you have to walk through the underground parking garage to get to the elevator. Our first room was on the second floor and the windows were 50% blocked with snow. We requested a new room and all they could do was put us one floor up in the same building. It was a slight improvement. Morning buffet included. Good selection and quality of food. Turndown service was a nice touch- comes in handy when they seem to forget to service the room during the day. Thermostat did not function in the room. Room refrigerator also did not work.
I hosted my company's retreat at the Chateaux Deer Valley this past week and had an experience above and beyond my expectations. From check in, to rooms, drinking, and dining - everything was perfect. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and true hospitality spirit of this team. Planning our event was easy and communicative, and execution was seamless. Will definitely be back with my family/friends ASAP!
We were in a 1 bedroom room/condo, (2) fireplaces -- bedroom and living room. Wonderful location -- beautiful room, furniture, deck and kitchen -- high end appliances. Very spacious. Free shuttle to main street Park City.
We were in a studio with a Murphy bed. We thought it was awesome, even with the courtyard being under construction. Turn down for the bed was offered and not needed. The kitchen was amazing. Lots of room for relaxing. The bathroom is small, but not an issue. Breakfast buffet was really nice and ALL people were very friendly. One can always nitpick, but overall would stay here again with pleasure and without researching another place to stay
Attended conference -- staff very friendly, social distancing was terrific, rooms (both private and meeting) were clean and adequately appointed. 5-star not given because both male/female restrooms were inoperable at convention level. Had to climb stairs and schlep to use restroom. Also, restaurant was not open as advertised. Could have done better, but COVID issues probably contributed. But no usable restroom at convention is inexcusable.
Jim Tolbert, Mary Doyle, Billy (Banquets), Jeff (Wasatch A/V), Hawkeye and reception staff, Alex (bell desk and shuttle driver), spa staff at Stein Eriksen Lodge, restaurant staff at Cena and Glitretind; everyone was professional, kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. THANK YOU to all for making our stay so wonderful in every way! We will absolutely be back! Such a beautiful property. Rooms were beautiful and spacious and food was delicious!
We've stayed here a few times for overnight getaways. This was not the best stay as we recognize the property is just getting old. The studio rooms are not updated and the murphy bed mattress was especially awful. The courtyard was completely torn out and the view was lousy. We weren't impressed with our stay and will chose another location from now on.
