Our spacious room had a full kitchen, super-comfortable bed, and a balcony. Except for coffee, we had enough supplies and amenities for a full-weeks' stay. However, there is a coffee bar right in the lobby. The pool was long enough that I was able to swim laps on one morning before other guests arrived. There is also another indoor 'relaxation' pool with waterfall, steam room and sauna which we enjoyed as well.

My family decided to celebrate a birthday at the Westgate Park City Resort and Spa for a 3-night stay. What we had hoped would be an amazing experience was sullied by several concerning incidents on the resort premise. To accommodate our party of 5 adults and three children, we booked the Luxury Two Bedroom Suite and a Signature One Bedroom Suite. On 09Jul, my son was running around the room when I noticed his socks were saturated. Upon inspection, I found a wet area of the carpet. I assumed that the kids had made a mess the night before, so I cleaned up the mess with the available towels to the best of my abilities. On 10Jul, the carpet was still saturated and front desk was notified at approximately 10:30am for maintenance to take a look as it seemed to be originating from the room’s a/c unit. The maintenance supervisor showed up 1 1/2 hours after the issue was reported and stated that the condensation drain line was clogged, causing the drip pan to overflow and leak into the adjacent 3x4 carpeted area. It was also noted that for that particular a/c unit, the last filter replaced was 31March2020 and a Neutronic(odor eliminator) was placed within the unit. We were offered an upgrade to our room and new accommodations were made available at 4:10 pm. Unfortunately this wasn’t our only incident involving poor safety standards and inadequate management of health and safety regulations. My wife had purchased three breakfast burritos from the on-site marketplace on July 10 in the evening to have a quick breakfast prior to our July 11 check out. My brother had consumed majority of the burrito when he discovered it to be covered in mold. I took all three items back down to the marketplace and to show them. I inquired about their inspection practices concerning the food products for sale in the open air display cooler and received a blank stare. I showed the staff member that even though the food items had a “sell-by” date label, the staff had failed to properly annotate it, leaving staff and consumers without a clue as to the expiration of its items.

We had a good stay overall, but here are some pros and cons below. Pros: Location is amazing. At the tip of the mountain, with the lifts right outside. Very beautiful. About 10 minutes drive from Main Street and even less to Utah Olympic Park. Surrounded by other resorts that have their own restaurants. Every evenings, outdoor concerts. Nice burger place for lunch. Adult pool and hot tub are nice and quiet. Deep jet tubs in the units. And the staff overall is very friendly!! Cons: They charged us a service fee of $200 on top of what we were supposed to pay. They didn't tell us about this charge when we were booking. Unfortunately the biggest con is something that hotel has no control over: The layout and design. It's counterintuitive and confusing. Multiple times a day, we heard ourselves say, "is this the right way? Is this where we turn?" The B units are small. It's hard to spread out even and unpack. It's also a bit outdated. If you like that kind of rustic feeling, you will be happy. Elusive Concierge wasn't around on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Finally returned on Thursday, but by 11am. We are already gone by then. Only on the last day we finally were able to speak with her. Selection of pastries and bagels at the coffee shop is laughable.

There isn't much good to say about Westgate Park City, and the parking lot is about as tight as any parking lot that I have ever tried to park in. The covered parking takes you up several floors and then deads end, making turning around almost impossible. Eventually, after 30 minutes of trying to navigate through the garage, we asked the desk where to park, and they had us park across the street in the dirt. It took us nearly 20 minutes to try and make our way back to our room. Once at our room, we found that the partition door was wide open and tried calling the desk to let them know, but in the middle of all of this, our neighbors walked in on us and asked us what the hell we were doing there? We were sharing our room with another guest, and topping it off; they accused us of trespassing! At this point, we decided to brave the journey to the check-in counter and became lost as there were no signs or directions to the main lobby, but we finally found a staff member who directed us. Getting back to the entrance required us to take the elevator down the 3rd floor, walking through the garage up to the next level, and then finding another elevator to take us to the lobby. After 30 minutes of trying to carry our bags around and 45 minutes of trying to get a different room and another adventurous journey to find our new room, we were incredibly disappointed to learn that room smelled of mildew, had poor air circulation, had pubic hair on our pillows and fingerprints on the mirrors. We gave up and tried to go to bed, but the elevator right next to us kept us up most of the night. I can not recommend a stay here and if you do, prepare to be disappointed!

We stay at the Westgate for a month every year during ski season, the employees always go above and beyond to make this experience one of our most wonderful destinations. Recently Amazon defaulted to this location and sent my package to Westgate instead of my home on California. Customer service representative Danu took the time to locate the package and return it to Amazon. This is what I would call above and beyond. Thank you! Setting the bar this high is what any business owner hope for in an employee!
