Perfect Location ~ Great Building Amenities ~ Unit 510B is Fabulous!
My family (husband and two teenage kids) stayed here for a week over the New Year's holiday. We stayed in penthouse studio condo #510B (booked it through a condo booking site). I will start by saying that the condo is more spacious than it looks in the photos. There was plenty of room for all of us (and luggage) and everything is well designed and organized in order to maximize the space. The high ceilings also made the space feel large. We loved the fact that the condo was updated with a nice kitchen (well stocked)/laundry area, clean bathroom with plenty of storage/hooks/mirrors and updated furniture. The Sundial Lodge is conveniently located within Canyons Village and we had a very easy walk to both the Red Pine Gondola and the Orange Bubble Chairlift for four days of skiing. Also, it is a quick and easy walk to the Cabriolet, which will bring you down to the bus stop, for heading into downtown Park City or to the base of Park City Mountain (the bus is extremely convenient, efficient, clean and FREE). In my opinion, the Sundial has the best location in Canyons Village. The ski valet and boot room was well organized and a great spot to get ready and end the day on the mountain. The guys who work in there are extremely friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, we discovered that we left one of our bags (with our ski boots) at the airport in Salt Lake City. One of the guys (Shane) overheard us and immediately offered to drive my husband to the airport to retrieve it. How impressive and kind is that?! That gesture set the tone for our entire vacation and everyone we encountered at the Sundial could not have been more helpful. I would definitely recommend this condo and we would love to stay here again!
Dear JMBC, Thanks for taking the time to let us know how we are doing. Thank you for highlighting the excellent service you received from our staff. As our guest, your satisfaction is our mission. We're happy to know that we succeeded in exceeding your expectations. We're always doing our best and pushing ourselves to the next level of service for our guests. We have passed your comments on to our team. Your words of encouragement mean the world to them, and we are eager to serve you again the next time you visit. Sincerely, Nathalie D. Some things have changed
This is the second time we've stayed at this lodge. The best thing about this place is hands down the location. Right at the base of Canyon village and 1 min walk to the gondola. Easy access to restaurants, shops and the slopes. They have a ski valet on the bottom floor in the lobby where you check your gear in and out. It was better than the first time! We stayed in the C building (across from the lobby). For two adults and two children, we usually get a one bedroom and this time, the room was a lot larger than last year which was a bonus. I also love the shared (between two units) laundry and that soap and dryer sheets were provided. New soap dispensers - instead of small hotel sized soaps, they now do large dispensers. Not as sanitary, but at least we didn't have to keep asking for soap. I love the full kitchen and appreciate that the staff keep it stocked with a brand new soap, sponge and most of the utensils you need. Like a knife set (dulled from multiple use), variety of pots and pans, spatulas, etc. Staff were always very responsive and very pleasant First time I've used the gym and it was adequate with weights and two treadmills, a rower, bicycle, bands, three sizes of stability balls, two rollers, two mats, a bathroom, tv, kettle bells. Small space but pretty nicely equipped. Bring your own water bottle for a fill up (they have a dispenser). This place would only be better if they: 1. offered pick up from Salt Lake City airport 2. had a covered or inside heated pool - our friends were staying at the Westlake and while their layout was awful and their room minuscule, the pool area was awesome!
Dear Rx-art, It sounds like you ran into some frustrating issues regarding your reservation. Unfortunately, there was a failure to communicate important details about your stay, and we did not receive the information necessary to smoothly accommodate your stay. There are a lot of potential reasons that your booking wasn't correctly passed along, but the specifics aren't important. What matters is that you had a difficult time. We are sorry that you had such a hard time, and wish we could have done more for you at the time. Our staff did everything possible to accommodate your needs once they were made aware of your problem, but we know that it was hardly the ideal experience we attempt to provide to each of our guests. To avoid the possibility of a similar failure in the future, we invite you to book your next reservation directly through All Seasons Resort Lodging. We provide a suite of direct booking benefits—including our Lowest Rate Guarantee and True Blue Perks program—that will help you get the most out of your stay. Again, we're sorry that you had such a frustrating experience with your booking, but we hope to see you again in the future under better circumstances. Sincerely, Sundial Lodge at Canyons Village

Best location on canyon village. Nice spacious condo and ski lounge. Definitely our choice for future trips. AC too loud. We stayed at the Silverado Lodge last year which was very nice and well equipped, but the proximity of the sundial lodge to all what canyon village has to offer is its main attraction. The ski valet is perfect too. Not having to walk with ski shoes carrying skis is really convenient.

Aside from location, the Sundial Lodge was a big disappointment (so much so that this is the first review I've written in years). Our room -- from the beat up ceiling, to the old furniture, to the miniature closet and the cheap, worn bedding -- was not commensurate with the $600/night price tag. The king bed didn't have a real comforter on it (just some kind of thick sheet) and the kids' pull-out sofa bed came with a flimsy flannel blanket that appeared to be from the 90's. The front desk service also was lacking (but the ski check guy and maintenance man were cool). We asked for but received no help with reservations at nearby restaurants and were given a late checkout several days before leaving, only to have it revoked the morning of. Honestly, it seems like they know they have people captive because of the ski-in-ski-out location and prefer not to expend additional resources to properly appoint the rooms and provide a more positive customer experience.

I booked these rooms through EpicPass and arrived at 6:30 pm. The rooms are not cleaned at check in; we notified house keeping that room was not clean on check in and house keeping did not arrive. After 3 hours, still no response from house keeping and we had to clean part of the room ourselves.

We went up to Park City to get out of the heat of the Valley with another family. One family of three ended up in one building and mine in another. We requested we be in the same building at least. We arrived earlier than the rest of our family, got unpacked, settled and later found out they were in another building. The air conditioning did not work in either of our rooms in separate buildings. It was miserable at night. We could of been cooler in my own home. Needless to say no one slept in two nights. In addition I have never stayed in a place with no fan in the bathrooms. The room would get extremely humid after three people showering along with not being able to cool the room. The first morning, while waiting in the Lobby one of the employees behind the front desk loudly said, quote. THIS IS FKING B.S!!! as a response to another employee she was talking to. My 8 year old Grandson along with my husband and I heard this loud and clear. I was so mad and disgusted. The two positive things I can say is the grounds were beautiful. The kids enjoyed the pool. There was plenty of dining choices within walking distance.

Location is fantastic bit feels tired. The standards for the unit owners really need to reflect the insane prices during the ski season. We stayed 15 years ago and felt it was a much better value then.

If you are OK with a three-star hotel that is dirty, old, and is run by a fishy-sounding arrangement, then this is the right place for you. In a Motel 6, you can expect a wake up call. But in this place, you can't expect such a service. I was very disappointed with the services at Sundail lodge. We paid more $700/night to stay at this "ski resort" in Park City Utah. When we arrived there, we realized this was more of a 3-star lodge than a "resort." The rooms and hallways look old and need a major clean up. The door of the room closet hits the night stand so that you have to move the whole bed in order to open the drawer in the closet. The most annoying part of my stay happened the last night I was there. I needed to wake up at 1:30 to catch an early flight out of Salt Lake City. I dialed the Front Desk from the phone in room and asked for a wake up call. The lady who answered said she had to check with her manager. But she did take my information and my request for a wake up call. I went to bed and fell sleep around 9:00 pm. About two hours later I woke up with a phone ring, thinking it was my wake up call. The lady said her manager told her they do not provide wake up calls. Needless to say, I was quite unhappy and frustrated. I could not go back to sleep. It turns out when you make a reservation at Sundial Lodging, you actually paying a company called All Season Resort. This other company has a small desk in the lobby, at he end of the front desk area. When you call downstairs from your room, the person who answers the phone is not an employee of All Seasons Resort. They convey your requests or complaint to the other person who then calls the manager - who is off site. So you really don't pay Sundial Lodge when you make a reservation. I felt that I was subject of false information by Expedia, where I had made my reservation and plan to file a complaint with them as well.

We were so pleased with our condo at Sundial! It was updated and clean. Great amenities, including salt and pepper (which was not provided in a condo when we skied in the East), shampoo, conditioner and amazing robes. We had a view of the village and gondola in the C building. After a few mixed reviews, I was hesitant, but so pleased with our choice. I tried to change our reservation to stay on the Park City Mountain, but wasn't able to do so without losing a good deal of money. I was concerned that there weren't many green slopes on the Canyon Mountain side. We took the cabriolet lift to the city shuttle and got to the PCM without issue. The bus labeling is a little confusing, but others at the stop were helpful, and the bus drivers were helpful as well. PCMR didn't seem to have many more restaurants or shops, so we didn't feel as if we were missing out. Staying on Main St might be fun, but we so enjoyed our location we'd very likely stay here again. My only complaint would be not great lighting in the bedroom with my old eyes and the maid service took our amazing robes and didn't replace them. I called the front desk to request replacement and never received additional ones. We enjoyed using them after soaking in the hot tubs. I recommend the one on the third floor.
