We checked in late but the full moon gave us a glimpse of the valley. It may have been dark but we could tell that we would be awestruck at sunlight.
We were on the first floor and others in our group had the third floor. Both levels had extraordinary views. I actually think a

My son and I spent 2 nights in a premier view cabin. Cabin 21. We were there in November, so it was off season and cheaper. But I think I’d pay for the same thing no matter what. I’d highly recommend a premier view cabin if you’re doing them. The back row cabins are raised above

The room was immaculate!!!! The view from our balcony was jaw dropping!!! We really enjoyed our meal at the restaurant (tacos), the service was fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Monument Valley, the stay here is an experience in itself.

The name says it all - it’s all about the view, which is fantastic!

Large room with balcony looking over the valley. Get floor 2 or 3 if possible.
If you can manage to crawl to the balcony it’s perfectly positioned for sunrise.
Two queen beds - comfortable but terrible bedcovers

After sunset can you leave the hotel and return? I'm thinking about watching sunset and then suggesting heading to the next town over for dinner somewhere, such as Kayenta? As I haven't heard rave reviews about the restaurant on site.
We came through Kayenta and didn't see any other restaurants of note. We ate one meal at Gouldings (lunch) and two meals at the View Restaurant. The chef came to our table to discuss our food allergies and we got great advice. The dinner was very good. Breakfast was a large buffet. And yes, you can travel around after dark.

Are there grills on the premises? We have a cabin booked, but could grill anywhere designated.
I stayed at this awesome facility in early April,2018 and tried to camp but 35/45mph winds forced me into the hotel. So no grills at the campsites and the hotel while comfortable and clean with quick access to the restaurant, no cooking facilities. Don’t let the no grill situation keep you from a memorable experience at super facility!

Sounds like a lot of guests enjoyed the fried chicken at the restaurant, is it spicy?
Like everyone else says not spicy just good. Everything we had there was good.
