While the 'bed and breakfast' part wasn't available thanks to COVID, the Inn itself was open. What a wonderful place! The decor and the people, perfect. We needed a room with two beds, as we were traveling with our adult son. They have great accommodations. Our room had a king bed and a twin bed. The bathroom could use more places to set things when you go in to shower, but then again, it was a good shower, clean and spacious. The bar and grill was wonderful as well! The food was great, and the service was top notch. Very quaint, we were seated in one of the old grain silos that had been turned into the bar/dining area. While I will admit that the place is not ADA compliant, but if that is not an issue - I highly recommend this B&B
We were a group of 4 couples planning on staying 3 nights. When we walked into the B & B, the smell of cooking odors was overwhelming! The smell and smoky air were awful. When we got into our rooms it was no better. They opened the doors downstairs to try to eliminate some of the odors. We talked with the owners that night and they did refund us our 2 extra nights. They were very apologetic and said they were planning on some renovations this winter due to the kitchen odors permeating the rooms! I would not recommend staying here until the renovations are complete!
A unique bed and breakfast in Monticello. Great laid back atmosphere. The B&B also has some great antiques. Comfortable rooms and beds. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Easy, touchless check-in/check-out. B&B is built in an old grist mill with stairs to each of the rooms, which may be an issue for some. Met some nice people at the patio/bar and at breakfast the next morning. Will definitely visit again on our next trip through Monticello.
No one was present at check in. Property is not ADA compliant and we were told we would have to carry luggage up three flights of steps. No COVID precautions followed. Manager arrived after we indicated to housekeeper we were leaving. Manager indicated no masks would be worn and no social distancing observed because "COVID is not that bad -- my girl friend had it." Property and hotels.com refused to provide a refund.
Staff was friendly and accommodating but no one, customers included, wore masks or gloves to serve food. No social distancing was observed. They did respect our request to dine away in an ante room. Rooms were clean but furniture needs refurbished..lots of scratches.Bed linens were worn and a egg carton foam mattress w no pad could be felt. Front of the Mill was filthy and covered in dirt...couldn't sit on the benches. Weeds and trash but in contrast, the inside was nicely kept.
