We are fortunate to have this resort within an hour drive of our front door. The hotel is unique. The restaurants (2 choices plus a bakery) are great if you’re wanting to hunker down and not venture into town. If you want to eat outside of the resort, midway, heber, and park city all offer outstanding options. The hotel is dated and a little weird to navigate. Hallways seem to zig and zag. If pictures, carpet, wallpaper, furniture, and amenities were updated, this place would be stellar. The pool feels old and the indoor hot tub isn’t a hot tub. There are no jets. It’s just a shallow pool next to a rock wall with cascading water. Be prepared to squint your eyes (from the splashing water) and raise your voice in order to have a conversation. The indoor outdoor swimming option is cool. Especially during the winter when the snow is flying. When it’s cold out, get to the outdoor hot tub early. It will get busy when the sun sets. Overall, zermatt is worth a visit, or two. …
The location has a number of free activities onsite. Its a great place to bring kids. The room was a bit dated but no problems. If I had a few days to get away with my family and wanted to be in one place to do stuff this is where I would go.
Highly recommend for a special occasion. Great chef, the food was delicious. We had the beef wellington. Highly recommend. Stayed in one of the penthouses. Nice this time of year for that since it had a jetted tub and fireplace.
Room had a weird smell. We only had one glass in the room and it was chipped. Ice machine on our floor was broken. Also the floor in the shower was strange with a weird angle. The pub upstairs was nice however. The bar tender was great.
3 couples stayed together in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath suite. It was nice to be on one level, with no stairs for those who have health issues. The kitchen was fairly well equipped - while I woudn’t cook a full holiday meal it was fine for breakfast and simple dinners. The table got plenty of use for games, and we enjoyed sitting in the living rom catching up. The pool (indoor/outdoor) was a good temperature, and we swam outside when it was barely above freezing. The hot tub was great too. Free mini-golf was enjoyable, and we were disappointed that we didn’t notice the shuffleboard court until we were checking out. There are sidewalks around much of the property, and daily early morning walks were pleasant. Z’s Steak and Chophouse restaurant was delicious. The cheese fondue appetizer was a lot to eat, and offered a good variety of vegetables, toasted bread, and even small pickles. The sirloin steak was yummy, and the mixed mocktails were interesting and innovative, especially the Harry Potter themed ones. The property isn’t brand new, and that shows, but I would return again when I had similar requirements.…
