I'm at the epicenter of my trip into the wilderness, and I've accomplished (so far) what I came to do. And I planned on staying at the Mexican Hat Lodge because not only was it close to the places I wanted to visit, it looked cool. I reserved one of the small rooms ('cuz I don't need/want a big room),... More

We stayed at the lodge 5 days while sightseeing in the surrounding areas. Our "room" was actually a park model mobile home- a trailer- completely separate from the main lodge building. One bedroom with a queen bed, full bath with shower over tub, kitchen and living room with TV and Wi-Fi. In the evening the normally satisfactory Wi-Fi slowed to... More

Stayed here before visiting Monument Valley. Dark when we arrived, check in girl was very friendly. Not much to choose from in this small town but we chose here because they had a pool. After a day of traveling it was nice to take a swim in the heated pool, it felt great and lights were dimmed or off which... More

We shared a room with our friends. They had the living room since the AC would be closer to them. We had the bedroom by the bathroom. The place does need some serious updating, but it did seem clean and that is very important. A family would be better for the room we rented. The AC doesn't work that well,... More

Husband & I stayed next door at Hard Hat Inn but had dinner at Swingin Steak after a long beautiful drive throughout Utah's geological phenomena. This is a 'no frills' bar restaurant but plenty of character with a Navaho cook and bartender as your quiet, but gracious hosts. Meals are very simple, most or all with pinto beans and salad... Stayed at The Mexican Hat Lodge this past August. The room that we reserved was quite clean and quiet. Would stay at the same motel and the two bedroom unit. Mexican Hat is a very small town and would suggest you eat at their restaurant.

We stayed at the Lodge on a cold and wet night, with blowing wind and rain. Mexican Hat is on the edge of nowhere in the desert. The hotel is across from a 7-11 that has gasoline. The lobby was empty when we arrived. You ring a bell to get service. Check-in was uneventful. We stayed in room 3; queen... More

Really it has everything. Rooms are not new however mine was clean and well presented. Coffee, refrigerator, microwave all in room. For just over $90, a bargain given how close it is to Monument Valley. Gas station opposite. Steakhouse good.

In a small town with a limited number of hotels the Mexican Hat Lodge is a very cute place to stay. Great value for money and the room we had (room number 1) was fantastic, beautifully decorated in a Mexican style, with a huge and comfy king size bed. The outdoor area with a spa/Jacuzzi is also very nice and... More

With few to choose from in the Monument Valley area, The Mexican Hat Lodge was our choice. The Lodge is older and could use some major updating however, our experience for dinner, at the Swingin Steak was not only fun, but delicious! It is, what it is, a cowboy way of cooking a steak, outdoors, on an open fire. Our... More
