We were travelling with a family, so we needed space and we got it. Big room with huge, comfortable beds. Friendly receptionist. Small pool, but perfect given the baking heat. Everything decorated in an individual, creative way. Free adaptors at the reception, left behind by other guests. Handy if you have Europe phone with you. Enjoyed the steakhouse as well.... More

This place had charm! Sure, it is a basic motel, but they have done a very nice job making it a bit more. The property is cute, with a western feel. They have cheerful outdoor landscaping with personal touches like busy hummingbird feeders. The 360 view around the property is spectacular - rock formations everywhere you look. The room was... This is a bigger than average lodge type property, two story, older property, in the middle of nowhere, across the street from a gas station, in Mexican Hat. The 'town' is a blink long- blink and you are through it- but it is lots cheaper than staying in Monument Valley and way cooler- really close to the river which is... More

We stayed two nights in room 6 and everything was perfect. The room was clean, big, and we even used the pool they have. I fell in love with the swinging steaks! The atmosphere in the night was very good, a wonderful smell of cedar wood from the barbecue, music...

Stayed in room 5 and was very happy. Clean room, two queen size beds, updated carpet, and fan in the spare bedroom to help the A/C. A goodnights sleep and a friendly good morning to get us on our way again. Didn't eat at he restaurant but the front desk s made sure they stayed open until we got there... More

We were visiting Monument Valley and choose to stay at one of the cabins here. It was a little bit further to travel but it was worth it. The cabin was clean and we enjoyed the spacious feeling of being able to also have a kitchen and lounge room.

There's not very much in Mexican Hat other than a couple of motels, a gas station and a couple of restaurants. The Mexican Hat lodge is a fun place. For a start it's famous as a place John Wayne frequented after filming at nearby Monument Valley. It has an indoor, heated, swimming pool and there is a bar and lounge.... More

Wanted it to be more fun that it was - - I was so looking forward to dinners on the Swingin Steak patio, and the food was great but the atmosphere was just flat. Maybe because it was a Tuesday night. That was just my little disapointment because I had expected it to be more, well, "swingin". The only music... More

Pleasant helpful receptionist, easy to access room, clean and functional. Lovely pool in a dramatic setting between the highway and the river. Isolated except for the odd traffic on the highway. Good for an overnight stay.

Stopped here about 8 pm looking for a room. Not much to choose from in the winter time. Single bed room was $74 plus tax. The place is quite old, but the room was clean. The toilet and shower/tub surround were fairly new and therefore quite nice. There is a little covered pool in the back, but didn't try it.... More
