We stayed at this hotel during a road trip. The rooms were updated, but the hallways and exterior could use some investment. We had a crying baby in the room next to us, which made sleep difficult. Overall the room was clean. They still had a breakfast where you can select individually packaged items and a coffee bar. I saw a number of guests walking around without face coverings, although the hotel required them. I attribute this to Utah's lax laws during COVID as guests in hotels in other states had higher compliance.
The Hampton Inn was clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast was nicely spread out and the food was hot. My sister-in-law asked Ruby, the receptionist on duty, if she could save 4 cookies for us because after a few days staying there they had always run out. Well to our surprise, Ruby not only saved the cookies for the four of us, she had them wrapped and placed them in both of our rooms! What a nice surprise!!! Little things like that go a long way!!!!
I had high expectations for this hotel after reading the reviews. We were disappointed with the quality of the shower and air conditioner in the room. The elevator broke the day after we arrived and we had to use stairs to get up and down to the 3rd floor for the remainder of our stay. There was a water issue near the pool that created a large pool of water in the stairway. There was a very loud youth group staying on our floor that made noise well beyond 10PM. I will look elsewhere next time I book in the area.
Location is great. Service is good. Amentities are good. Hotel staff need to be better trained on tax exempt status for government travelers. Manager stated we were tax exempt but by the time we checked out that had changed. The hotel needs to hire better maintenace staff. The shower in my room only worked if you held it up with one hand. Reported the problem and it was "fixed". Next day I had to finagle with it in order to get it to work.
My son has a stuffed beaver who unfortunately had a tear in his belly which sent him into an absolute panic. Called the front desk to see if they had a sewing kit and Rabeyia told me to bring it down. Although she didn't have a sewing kit she found a hot glue gun and nursed little "Richie" back to health! She definitely went above and beyond to make sure my boy (and me) had a great night!! Thank you for your kindness!
