The website has these really cute rooms with nice colors and sunny rooms. We didn’t get that. We reserved a king room- picture#1 and we got room #11- picture #2. This picture is taken during the day with the curtain open and all the lights on… looks totally different when you arrive later and exhausted from hiking the Grand Canyon. If you get to this property in the summer and you get room #11 go back to the office and ask for a different room. Here’s why. It’s dark and small. This room has the nosiest air conditioner ever used. I have traveled all over and have to say that this ac unit in this room is the most awful unit I have ever encountered. When it turns on the room shakes.. it’s bad. The bed was uncomfortable and the ac loud. I see the other reviews and they are all positive. Of course they are all from the remodeled rooms. Again if you get room 11, run back to the office and just say NO. Maybe then you’ll have a better experience. I will not recommend and I will it be returning to this hotel. The town is cute and the locations is good, but that’s it for me.…
The hotel was quiet, clean, retro with the right amount of modern. The owners were very friendly and fixed an issue with our air conditioner immediately. The muffins at breakfast were still warm from the oven. They even have bikes for guests to use if they want. I will definitely stay here again if I am in the area.
Loved this place. It is an old Route 66 style but everything is updated. The room was nicely decorated. It was clean and very well maintained. The front desk was very helpful; the owner checked on us to make sure we had eveything we needed. It is convenient to everything you would need in town as well as the national parks we were planning on visiting. Kanab is a great little town. Would stay here again!
This place is so accommodating and super cute! Robin and team were super sweet and helpful. It was very clean and comfortable. I would most definitely stay here again with my family of five! Great central hub to lots of things to do around.
We stayed here for three nights and chose this hotel primarily due to great reviews. The only 'Retro' qualities to this hotel that I observed were the bikes outside the office for guests and the lobby. The room was 'comfortable', but I would just say average in comparison to other hotels. The A/C Unit is quite loud. The 'Free Breakfast ' is a bagged breakfast. The pool was closed ( probably seasonal, as it is April), but weather WAS warm enough by now. On the positive side, all of the employees were friendly. The hotel appeared clean, and our room was clean. Overall, I think this property is overpriced. My biggest gripe is the $10.00 'Resort Fee'. Resort fees always bother me but there are some places that you just have to accept this practice ( Las Vegas, Palm Springs). I don't know why this motel would charge a 'Resort Fee'. I did a price comparison with the only other hotel we have stayed at in Kanab ( Hampton Inn), and depending on the date, Hampton is sometimes less expensive. If you are looking for a hotel in Kanab, and this hotel is less expensive, I would say it's a good value. …
Great location, nice retro style. Love that you park right outside your room. There were some problems. Our TV wasn’t hooked up, did work the next day after Ashton hooked it up. Never had reliable hot water. Had to text the front desk to get the hot water turned on. No linen change or cleaning during our 4 day visit. Ashton was very helpful and responded to our requests. Recommended with some reservations
I love the funky, roadside vibe of this hotel. It is definitely as a previous poster claimed "Schitts Creek Chic"!! The provide bath robes but you might come out and find a car parked feet away from your front door. The gals that run this place were great to talk to and were very accommodating. You could walk to town easily although they provide a few complimentary bikes (probably not enough for our group of 6 adults though). The breakfast was basic granola bar and juice box fair and the $10 a room "resort fee" charged after the fact was a bit over the top.
I stayed one night on the way from Zion to Arizona. It was quiet and the front staff was very friendly. Free bagged breakfast and coffee in the mornings. Small but cute town. Nearby to Bryce and Pink Sand Dunes too!
The renovated motel had everything we needed. Fridge, microwave, custom continental breakfast, outdoor sitting area, pool. It was quiet and the hosts/staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. They were friendly, but not overly smothering. The motel has done a great job of adding modern amenities to the original motel. (original motel rooms are much smaller than today's mega-hotels). Great shower pressure, clean bathrooms, clean, crisp linens. The hotel is on a major road, but so are all the other motels. You can't avoid the main strip. The traffic wasn't terribly heavy or congested, though. Stay here if you're looking for vintage charm and clean accommodations managed by friendly and caring staff.
We had so much fun here. The decor is super retro, sort of reminded us of Palm Springs, it was very clean and the water pressure was fantastic. It reminded us of schitts creek but in a good way. The two managers of the motel are so fun and sweet and worked so hard to make their guests comfortable. Antoinette, we left before we got to say goodbye and say thank you! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Bc of your hospitality! TLDR; fantastic, cute motel/lodge with great hospitality …#schittscreekchic!
