Detailed Reviews
I booked a stay in Kanab as it was a central location to all the activities related to the Grand Canyon and Glen Canyon I had planned for my girlfriends birthday. Most of the original activities in the Grand Canyon National Park were closed to due to COVID. Travis at the front desk helped me to find comparable, if not better, experiences in the nearby area. The customer service was very personable and the accommodations were fantastic. The bed in our room was hand carved by a local artist, the room reflected the local scenery, and the room/ facilities were very clean and comfortable. Travis and Canyons Lodge did not just save our trip but made it that much better. Working in the hospitality industry myself I cannot oversell how important it is to create a personal connection with your guests and Travis at Canyons Lodge excels at making you feel like you matter and that he’ll remember you were there. He genuinely cares that you love his properties as much as he does. If you’re ever looking for lodging or accommodation near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon or Glen Canyon you couldn’t do better. Plus, I learned that Kanab is a fantastic destination in and of itself.

+1
We were some of the first travelers to stay here after re-opening from the COVID closures and they were working very hard to get everything up and running again. The property is lovely, with a covered lawn filled with patio furniture to relax and enjoy the quite pace of this town and bikes you can use to ride around town. The rooms are unique with their modern western designs, and we found them to be very clean! They even added nice touches like a welcome note and a weather report. The included breakfast was filling and tasty, even with it needing to be packaged and taken to your room for now. We would definitely stay at this property again!

My friend and I spent a week here at Canyon's Lodge. Management goes over the top to make sure that you are happy. It is in a perfect location for our tours with Dreamland Safari. Every room has microwave and refrigerator so we could shop and then eat in the comfort of our room, no matter how late we got back there. They also have a delicious breakfast buffet and a restaurant, Sego, on the property. It is by reservation only and we never knew what time we would be returning so we could not eat there.

We were assigned "Cottage room 1" which is literally on the sidewalk in front of a very loud, busy street. When we first entered, it was very hot in the room and it smelled like mold and mildew but not too bad. It was clean. The first thing we noticed was how dark it was in the room. There was one window that was mostly blocked by the gigantic bed. Next we noticed there was no drawer or closet space but we were only there 3 nights so we could deal with that. The sink is outside the bathroom. The room has a small fridge and microwave.
We turned the AC on and left the room to look around. There is a sitting area near the pool that was nice at first glance. We sat in a couple of chairs that were cleaned off. Later when we went to sit in that area again, the seats we had earlier were taken so we tried a couple of the other chairs that had cushions up. When we moved the cushions, we saw that they apparently hadn't been used in quite some time since they were loaded with dead leaves. We suggest sitting in the outdoor area at the hotel which was much nicer. The pool is also very small with only 2 lounge chairs that were taken each time we went to use it. There are other upright chairs though.
Back to our room after a couple of hours and dinner to an extremely hot room with an A/C that barely worked. I went over to the office at the hotel and was offered a big box fan that I had to bring back to the room. It helped a little but all nights were very hot and uncomfortable especially since the bed is very hard which we are not used to. Had 3 very sleepless nights. Even though it was 100+ the days we were there, it actually got chilly at night and it would have been great if the window wasn't mostly blocked by the bed and we could have got the fresh, cool air in the room. Not to mention fixing the dark, cave like feel to the room. We would have checked out after one night but they have an unusual policy that they require 72 hours notice to cancel or check out early. I 'm pretty sure that's because people are disappointed in their rooms especially for the price.
The 3 rating is based on the following:
The good was the "covid" breakfast which was actually great! Also, the front desk person (sorry I forgot her name) was excellent .
I don't know what the other rooms were like here but I definitely recommend looking elsewhere to stay. I honestly have no idea how this place has such high ratings.

I am so disappointed to read this review. If we had heard anything from you about not being happy with the room (which is a favorite with most travelers) we would have moved you immediately and insured that you were happy and comfortable. This, however, is the first we heard of any issues from you other than being too warm which we tried to assist you with. As far as the leaves, it was raining and windy off and on during your stay which does knock the leaves out of the tree. I am sorry that we hadn't gotten to them quickly enough. Guests are very happy with the Canyons Lodge, as you can see from the other reviews. I am sorry that the property was not to your liking, but please know that if you had simply let us know we would have done all we could for you to make it a perfect stay.

I cannot say enough about The Canyons Lodge! My husband and I spent 3 nights there, and we WILL be back! Both of us have traveled extensively through our lives, not just in the US, but overseas as well, and can honestly say we have NEVER had such a wonderful experience as staying at The Canyons Lodge.
If you are wanting fancy and upscale, this might not be for you (try Canyons Boutique Hotel, across the street). But if what you want is, a comfortable room, with the most amazing help from "staff" this is the place. Our room was spacious, and we arrived to a note to us and our dog who was traveling with us and two bottles of water. Great start.... and it just got better.
Travis helped us find restaurants, including calling for reservations, and giving excellent food advice (and I'm pretty picky about food!). We received texts with updates when someone needed to go in our room, and he even checked with us to make sure we wanted to be on the breakfast list for the next day. He really goes above and beyond, walking guests to their rooms and checking to make sure things are ok. Honestly, if you have a problem and don't feel it was handled, it's likely because YOU didn't say something and decided to complain instead.
Kanab is a great little town, so friendly and a great experience, and The Canyons Lodge made it the BEST!!

This is a really nice property at the north end of town. Rustic exterior and probably old (based on the size of the room), but in great shape with nice landscaping. My room was tiny, but very well organized and planned out, with a little table that was fine for using the laptop. The front desk guy, Ron, was super nice and helpful throughout my stay. I accidentally left my water bottle in the fridge when I left, and the lodge immediately mailed it to my home, priority mail.
It's part of a three-property group, with the larger and newer hotel right across the street. That's where you get the breakfast buffet (included), which was very good, with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a french toast/bread pudding sort of sweet casserole. (This is in the wonderful Sego restaurant, which I'll review separately.) Other than Sego, it's a bit of a walk to the rest of Kanab's restaurants.

Can I give more than 5 stars? Do these go to 11? My sister raved about the Canyons Lodge and she actually under sold it. Travis, Laurie, Ron (don't call me Rod) and everyone else we spoke with were friendly and welcoming. Whether it was staying late because we couldn't get there before 10 pm or making reservations for us last minute, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The rooms are a fun combination of log cabin with modern amenities, and the unlimited homemade breakfast for $10 is the deal of deals. Kanab is the perfect home base for Zion and Bryce Natl. parks. Thanks for everything, Travis, including the Tide pod and dryer sheets for when we did our laundry at the laundrymart in town. You rock!

We were road-tripping. My husband HATES spontaneous stuff, but we rolled into Kanab, UT, and we were going to check into the local big chain hotel. While sitting in the lobby of the big hotel, hubby finds this place around the corner... on his phone. Best place to stay!!!! You need to check in at the Inn across the street, but not a big deal, because the front desk people are very friendly and will give you all kinds of ideas about the area. They have a different breakfast every morning.... (need to let them know by 8pm the night before what you want for breakfast) you can eat in the dining room or take it to your room. This is a place that we will recommend again and again! I would love to go back, just to stay in this little room. They also have bikes that you can ride around town. We did ride the bikes. Felt like old school kids. Love that they have this. Please stay here. We will tell people about this place again and again, just because of the "vibe" that we got from here. As soon as we walked into the room, we felt at home.

I was greeted by Ron upon che k in and immediately felt welcomed. After checking me in he escorted me toy door , which I have seen other employees do, and when he asked if I needed anything else I told him I needed dinner and would also like a cocktail. My arrival was on a Sunday so that is a tricky thing in Utah. Ron pulled through. He called the Rocking V. A fave restaurant of his. And secured me a table. The Rocking B did not disappoint.
My room was a petite queen which was fine for just me. It had a fridge. Microwave. Coffee maker
The room was very nicely appointed.
Outside my room was a nice area with tables on the grass with sail types shades.
Near the pool area was a nice outdoor firepit.
Across the street is a sister hotel with restaurant. You can get a very nice and very good small breakfast buffet there for $10.00 if you are a guest.
If you are coming to Kanab check this place before the big chain hotels.
You won't be disappointed.
Thanks Canyons Lodge for a great stay.

We booked a queen room in the lodge part and it was small but it was all we needed. However, it was flawed. The queen bed was directly next to the air conditioner. When the air shut off, it’d get hot and you’d get a little bit sweaty, but then the air would turn on and you’d get freezing cold. So the sleep quality wasn’t great. The view was beautiful and they did what they could with breakfast, having you select the night before and then packaging it up so you cloud take it to your room.

Definitely, the city of Kanab is a great place for stargazing and viewing the Milky Way.
When I was there last summer there were plenty of parking spaces available. So, I don't know why you wouldn't be able to park a trailer.
I’m sorry, not sure. We just hung out at Best Friends Animal Society. Call Travis at Canyons’s Lodge. He’s the owner of three locally owned Hotels and is a wealth of information. 844-322-8824.
Ours did but not sure if all do.
Oh, it's a long, long drive from Kanab to Havasupai. You have to drive clear around Grand Canyon National Park and go way west to get to Havasupai. If you look at your map, you'd leave Kanab and take 89 or 89A east or south, and follow 89. Then drive to the junction with SR-64 (just past Cameron) and turn east to Grand Canyon NP (Desert View.) Drive into the park, then after you reach the village, turn south on 64 and drive to Williams. From Williams you drive west on I-40 to the turn off to Havasupai, which is Indian Route 18. Or, you could drive west from Kanab and pickup 1-15, drive south to Las Vegas and then east on I-40. If you plan to hike to the falls, probably the best overnight spot would be Seligman. I lived at the South Rim of Grand Canyon for several years, so I know this area very well. Good luck!
