1st, you have to know what you're dealing with here. This is a town of about 700 and it's miles from anywhere. BUT, it's close to Bryce Canyon & other popular tourist attractions. That said, it is old but Very Clean! There's no breakfast and WIFI was hit & miss. We got one of the last rooms, a mini-suite, which...

We arrived Bryce Canyon at 7 pm and all hotels were fully booked. We had to drive to Escalante to find a place to sleep for the night. It takes approx. 45 min to go to Bryce Canyon from Escalante. We arrived late to The Padre Motel. The only available room was the suite. The suite has two rooms with...

Met and exceeding our expectations. A throw back to an earlier time but in this area a nice clean room that is quiet and well kept and doesn't cost and arm and a let is a VERY welcome change from the expensive change or the expensive dives. If you're expecting new and modern better make your reservations at another hotel...

We found this motel to be a nice place to stay. Though, admittedly pretty basic. The room was clean and well maintained. Bed was comfy. Screen door on our room was a nice touch, but slammed every time you used it. The walls are pretty thin, and the AC could be a bit distracting. But we liked our stay, and...

We arrived in Escalante late in the day. We decided to stay the night. We contacted the office which was in the home of the people that own/run the motel. We checked the room and found it to be dated but clean. The bathroom was clean and in good repair. The TV was an old model but fit right in...

Rooms are small and bath room is so small you can't turn around in front of the sink. There is NO breakfast so figure that into the price. The rooms were clean and it is run by an older couple who were very nice, although not didn't know what to do with a wi-fi problem. The old TV hangs on...

We were on our way to Boulder and got to the top of the Great Escalante Staircase but were too tired to go down the other side. Did not expect it to be cheap in this tourist area but was reasonable. The room had a fridge but no microwave. The owners were very helpful and even boiled me some water...

Booked online, sight unseen. Basic but clean room with an odd, tiny bathroom. The desk person (owner?) was unwelcoming. Went back to the office to get a pillow, but she had gone home a short time after we checked in around 5:00 p.m, with a sign posted in the window that she will return the naxt day at 4:00 pm....

We stayed at the Padre Motel during September of 2011. Some of the other motels were already sold out and we started checking some 3 months prior! So, if going during the cooler fall months be sure to book early. By default we stayed at the Padre Motel. It was very dated, with small rooms, located on East Main street,...

Clean, quiet small motel. Nothing fancy, but, nice and large rooms with all the amenities you need - and a very comfortable bed! The owners are very friendly people. Ideal for the Grand Staircase Escalante on Highway 12 scenic byway. I rate it "very good" not in comparison to expensive places in cities, but in comparison to other places in...

“Don't stay here...best advice..unless truly desperate. The long list of regulations on thier website..an threats of $150-200 fines for violating the "rules' should give you pause enough. I have no doubt they have endured a lot of jerk travelers..but I think it is time they exit the "hospitality-industry.”
