What a treat staying at the Entrada was! On the edge of town, it has unobstructed views of the valley (plateau? basin?) and the vibrant ridges bounding it. The two rocking chairs outside our back door made viewing all of this perfect. The interior of our room was tastefully decorated, with one large painting by our host, Terry, that I would be glad to hang in my own home if I had the space. (It’s worth mentioning that many of his paintings are for sale.)

Our hosts, Wendy and Terry, were warm and casual. I had come to Escalante for a plein air (outdoor) painting workshop, and one day while I was painting away, a truck with our hosts pulled by, and they waved and shouted out a cheerful greeting. They were going painting, too. How nice!

I was agog at all they supplied. When my husband mentioned he'd forgotten his dental floss: "Oh no worries, there's floss in the room." It seemed they had everything you could have possibly forgotten (except a pair of shorts; I'd forgotten mine). One giant plus was the laundry room; the machines were free to use, including free detergent!

Everything was spotlessly clean. My impression was that the facilities had been recently renovated, in that all the wood trim seemed fresh. And, oh yes, the bed was very comfortable, a critical factor in one’s travels.

Should we go back to Escalante, we will be sure to make reservations far in advance so we can be sure to stay at the Entrada!

Everything about this place was great. Check in was very easy as the owners provide an email on how to get into our room. Each room also has its own private parking spot. Inside the room it was very clean and seemed to have been renovated fairly recently. The room has a Mitsubishi ductless HVAC unit for heating and cooling which is excellent. This place seemed very upscale; even the toilet paper was nice (not the thin, rough toilet paper you see in most motel/hotels; they use very soft "Charmin" like toilet paper). I have been to Escalante three time now, and this is easily the nicest place I have stayed at. I will definitely book a room at this place the next time I am in Escalante. I highly recommend this place.

This place is so comfortable and enjoyable. We loved our stay here while trekking around Southern Utah.

We stayed in the suite because we like to cook some of our meals. We were delighted to use the well equipped kitchen.

The boutique itself was very clean and maintained. A complimentary quest laundry was on site with laundry soap provided by the owners.

It was so well appointed, so many small touches and amenities that we felt it was a good value for our vacation dollars.

We stayed in Pet Friendly Deluxe King Room #7, which had distinct kitchen, living, and bedroom areas. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, any noise from neighbors came through our open windows, it was quiet at night, and everything worked. The room included really nice blankets to cover furniture that may be used by dusty dogs after a day of hiking.

They will allow you to leave dogs in the room when you leave and will even check in on them on your request. We take our dogs with us when we leave, which meant no hiking in Bryce. Nearby is Red Canyon, which has the same geology as Bryce, great hiking, and is dog friendly. There's also plenty for the outdoor enthusiast to do in nearby Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.

Our unit had the feel of a small vacation rental house. Unlike many vacation rentals and hotels, it came with decent coffee, soft facial tissues, non-scratchy TP.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Entrada Escalante Lodge.  They call this place a base camp. The idea so suits this location: central to the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, and multiple other nearby parks and forests. The implementation just nailed the concept: providing plates, cups, glasses, silverware, a kettle, coffee (from a local roaster), teas, snacks, folding trays, microwave, and a reasonably sized refrigerator with a usable freezer. The folks in charge have done something very special.  The rooms are nicely decorated and constructed so that we didn’t hear every sneeze in the next room. The bed was clean, comfortable, the shower and heating worked well. There are a number of places to stay in the area, but these folks get the blue ribbon.

We had an amazing three night stay at the Entrada Escalante Lodge room #6. A two bedded pet free room. Upon arrival Terry guided us to our reserved parking space right in front of our room. Thereby making it easy to move our luggage into a really very spacious multi room suite. A large bedroom with a comfortable reading chair, dining room with a large four chaired table. Full kitchen (dishes; silverware; coffee machine with special high end packages of coffee). A dishwasher and full sized fridge and freezer. Three bathroom sinks. (One in a room with the toilet). Two in the very large bathroom.; a large two headed shower and all the towels you could ever use in three days. There was a door to a back porch with chairs and recliners. There was no reason for housekeeping but you can arrange that if needed. Oatmeal packets and snacks in a large container by the sink. Just leave the key in the room to check out. Air conditioner and a ceiling fan. Breakfast was available across the street in an adobe style restaurant building.
It was the best lodging we had on our two week road trip thru Utah.

This is probably the best desiged and well-equiped hotel room I have ever encoutered. It came with the perfect coffee maker and great coffee. Although ii did not have a kitchenette, it was equipped with a complete place setting for breakfast or other meals that could be microwaved. The shower was perfect. Loved the design and decoration. Great view from the patio, Discovered a laundry that would have been very convenient had we needed it.

The room was nicer than I expected - lovely touches like snacks, fresh water in a glass bottle, extra blankets, coasters, extra toiletries, a large refrigerator with separate freezer, etc. I loved the eco-friendly soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner set-up but wish they offered recycling services. The room was quiet and I slept well! Note that the heater does not work very well so be sure to ask for extra blankets if you are visiting when the weather is cool. You get your own assigned parking space right in front of your room, which is great. I recommend this lodge and would stay there again.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us! We love to hear that we exceeded your expectations. Oh how we wish we had access to recycling but unfortunately it is not offered in our county at all. We do hope in the future that becomes available for residents and businesses. Glad that you had a great nights sleep. We hope to see you in the future.

We received an email on how to check in, so we never did talk with the owners from our one night stay. Really liked that our car was so close to the entrance of our room. Inside was very well decorated. We did take advantage of the free laundry, after being on the road for two weeks. There were free laundry detergent and dryer sheets, and an ice machine was in the same room. We stayed in room 1 that had a California king bed. I have never seen this kind of bed in a hotel before, so what a delight for someone tall. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Special touches were an ouch pouch that had alcohol pads and bandaids, q tips, individual floss, spot remover, spray bottle refresher in bathroom, different variety’s of munchies, tea assortments, quality toilet paper and Kleenex. I would stay here again.

Thank you for such a wonderful review and choosing to stay with us. Little extras are our specialty and making all of our guests feel welcomed and taken care of. We are glad that you took advantage of the laundry. No one wants to pack the sand from their explorations back in with your clean clothes, I am sure some of it will still make it home. Please visit us again as there is always more to see and hikes to do in Grand Staircase.

Beautifully put together with great attention to details. Lots of little extras are provided that are very much appreciated, from snacks in a jar to Qtips to floss sticks. They even provided laundry pods and dryer sheets

Highly recommend this place
