We have been going for the last 11 years. We love it and always have a great time but this year they have a new asst manger and he is a total jerk. The maids are the best always friendly and our cabins are nice and clean and the guy that brings us wood is right on it. the lady named Joyce is great. Always so sweet but the guy named Paul is a total JERK. They need to get rid of him. He was so rude and did not want to help us when we went in the store. He even threw the keys at a person in our group because she wanted to buy some ice. He was on his phone and we were bothering him. Other than that it was great. I hope they take my advice and get rid of him.
I found this lovely property when looking for accommodation in the world renown fishing area of the green river. As I couldn’t find it on any UK booking sites, I emailed the lodge directly and got a prompt response. It was really easy to book, we just had to pay a deposit to reserve the cabin. I’m so glad we chose this site; it was so peaceful and relaxing and just what we needed having done a lot of driving on our American road trip. We had an alpine cabin which was perfect for the two of us. We purchased breakfast and lunch items from a supermarket in Rock Springs on our way and ate in the resort restaurant in the evenings. We did the red canyon rim walk which we accessed directly from the lodge and the views of Flaming Gorge were amazing. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. As other reviewers have said, this was a real gem.…
I have stayed at this resort several times. Each time we stay there, the harder in gets to leave. This truly holds a very special place in my heart! Everything is always perfect. The cabins, restaurants, scenic beauty.......everything. I don't want to make it sound too good because I don't want everyone to find out about this place.
Excellent location about 25 minutes to the tiny town of Dutch John. Clean and comfortable with daily service...even a fresh box of firewood each day. Perfect for couples, family, fishermen, hunters etc. Very nice duplex cabins with a porch and a view of the lake. The restaurant was closed during our visit. The cabin kitchen is by no means a gourmet kitchen. There are two electric burners, a microwave, and a small but adequate fridge. The cookware consisted of a saucepan and a skillet; both of which need replacing. No oven. We spotted a moose, deer, and bighorn sheep and caught an released many trout at the Green River.
What a Gem in the Flaming Gorge area. Gretchen the GM was a gracious host. Kinda wish they had RV spots to stay in. We were a bus tour & had a fantastic lunch. The grounds were immaculate so I'm sure the cabins are too. Hope to work there some summer.
We go up every couple weeks when we need a quick get away day trip. This time we scheduled horse rides for the kids and it was an absolute blast!!! The two wranglers were a absolute delight and so friendly with our children and us!! We will be coming back for more horse rides and doing more just because of them and other than that we loving the cheap rental fees and great food!! Highly recommend and very kid friendly!
This was a last minute reservation for a road trip to Flaming Gorge and turned out to be the highlight of our trip. The cabins were very nice with a beautiful view of the lake and a great walking trail. The restaurant had a nice menu for dinner with tasty entrees and a decadent brownie a la mode for desert. There were kayaks and stand up paddle boards to rent and horseback riding available. I wish we had taken the grandkids - they would have loved it!
This place made my husband want to build a cabin in the woods! We were greeted by Aaron whom we spoke with a couple of times and he could not have been nicer or more knowledgeable of the area. We stayed in an alpine cabin. Private, comfortable, quiet, clean... we stayed in 8 hotels on our 10 night road trip vacation and this one was my favorite. Had our coffee and tea on the porch in the morning and it was just so peaceful. I'm home 2 days and want to go back.
We took some family visiting from out of town up to the overlook. It’s well worth the drive. It’s a short walk from the parking lot of the visitors center. No elevation so all ages and abilities are welcome. It’s paved and there’s a fence so safety is a priority.
Our family visited Flaming Gorge in June 2020 and stayed at the Red Canyon Lodge cabins. We had an awesome experience. We loved the resort as well. The restaurant was great. Food and service were good! The store was nice and convenient. Had everything to make home away easier. Our kids enjoyed fishing and paddle boating in the Lake. It was an overall terrific experience and we would definitely stay again and highly recommend the Red Canyon Lodge cabins! Thank you!
