This is a definite must place to stay when in Blanding, UT. Blanding is not a very big town and there are a few places to stay but this is a definite. There is not one wrong thing with this establishment as with all of the reviews I have done in the past this says a lot. The rooms are beautifully decorated and look just as advertised on the internet. And the breakfast they offer - to die for! They make these huge cinnamon rolls and not sure what they are but it's scrambled eggs, cheese, peppers baked in a buttery pastry. So delicious. Fresh fruit, juices, cereals, coffee etc. The beds were so comfortable and they have this soap, which may be homemade which is great! There was a little table and chairs outside our room for all of us to gather as well in the back of the establishment there is this huge yard with seating all over and a fire pit as well. Definitely worth staying hands down!…
If you need to spend the night in Blanding, do yourself a favor and stay at this Lodge. The owners have done a remarkable job of taking on old motel (I am guessing 1940's) and turning it into a really nice place to stay. The rooms all have new hardwood floors. They are decorated in a native American motif that works really now. The beds were good and comfortable. The bathroom has been redone and feels like a spa bathroom in an expensive hotel. The outside of the units have all been redone, repainted and upgraded. The included breakfast was really deluxe with homemade cinnamon rolls, banana nut bread and other items. The main course was a really good puff type pastry with fresh eggs, ham, cheese and other items. Best provided breakfast I have had in a long time. If I am ever through this way again I will plan my trip to be able to stay here. P.S. The chain hotel in Blanding looks pretty shabby and sad.…
What a great find in Blanding, Utah. This hotel should be an experience on every traveler’s list. Sort of a southwestern art deco experience, with wonderful amenities and a beautiful courtyard where you can eat your wonderful freshly prepared breakfast. The cinnamon rolls are to die for. The rooms have been highly remodeled and the showers are not your usual brand x motel showers. Our room came with two separate bedrooms, with a queen bed in each room. The ambiance, cleanliness and functionality of these rooms was truly appreciated after a long day driving through the middle of nowhere. Staff was very personable and helpful..
We loved everything about this place. Bed was incredibly comfy, grounds were fabulous, and the breakfast is incredible. The owners and staff obviously take great pride in this funky little spot. We were here three nites and wish we had another.
We were for two nights and it was great!!! Locally owned and operated boutique hotel that you will love. Our room was small, but had everything we wanted and needed: clean bathroom, good wi-fi, tastefully decorated, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave. Our room was pretty quiet too. The Lodge has the feel of a modernized 1950’s era motor court: you can park your car right outside your room. There are also chairs and tables in the grass outside your room where you can enjoy coffee or drinks or just sit outside. One of the real treats at the Lodge is the beautiful garden area where you can relax: to say the landscaping is gorgeous is an understatement. Now, I have saved the best for last: the breakfast!!! You will not believe how great the breakfast buffet is….it contains the regular stuff that you would expect PLUS some homemade treats that will blow you away. Oh yes, the staff are wonderful: friendly, helpful and conscientious. If you are in the area, give the Stone Lizard Lodge a try….you will not be sorry!…
