Stone Lizard Lodge is a quaint motel experience in a small town in Utah right off the Main St/Hwy 191 next door to the A&W Restaurant. The room was excessively clean with hardwood/tile flooring. The bed was very comfortable in room 6. Coffee maker, microwave & fridge. Dish TV, 32” flat screen tv, multiple outlets on the lamps/nightstands & fast, free WiFi. Window A/C unit works great. Cute bistro sitting area right outside my door. Pleasant staff, great customer service. Breakfast of savory croissant pocket (ham & eggs), chia seed pudding and fresh berries. Parking right outside my door in a gravel parking lot, but the gravel was packed enough for me to navigate on my motorcycle. The shower is a bit small with a strange cut out in the corner making it even smaller, but shower pressure is good and water temp is good with a detachable, moveable shower head. Lotion was missing, which is needed in the desert.

If you need to spend the night in Blanding, do yourself a favor and stay at this Lodge. The owners have done a remarkable job of taking on old motel (I am guessing 1940's) and turning it into a really nice place to stay. The rooms all have new hardwood floors. They are decorated in a native American motif that works really now. The beds were good and comfortable. The bathroom has been redone and feels like a spa bathroom in an expensive hotel. The outside of the units have all been redone, repainted and upgraded. The included breakfast was really deluxe with homemade cinnamon rolls, banana nut bread and other items. The main course was a really good puff type pastry with fresh eggs, ham, cheese and other items. Best provided breakfast I have had in a long time. If I am ever through this way again I will plan my trip to be able to stay here. P.S. The chain hotel in Blanding looks pretty shabby and sad.

If you are looking for fancy accommodations is Blanding, you won't find any. In fact, dining establishments are hard to find too. However, we found everything we needed and wanted at the Stone Lizard Lodge and the grocery story nearby.

My wife and I stayed at the Stone Lizard Lodge for four nights in mid-June 2021. We reserved the "executive suite", which consists of two bedrooms, one bathroom, one fully furnished kitchen with a small dining table, and a couch. Everything was perfect for two people who don't like to eat out every night. We bought food to prepare at the fully stocked grocery store in Blanding, and brought it back to our comfy suite to cook. After dinner, we would retreat to the nice garden and sit in a couple of the plentiful lawn chairs and read to our heart's content.
Breakfast was really good and the woman preparing and tending the dining area was especially nice, as was her substitute.

I can' speak for the other rooms, but I highly recommend the executive suite if you are looking for quiet, comfortable, and reasonably priced accommodations.

This is an old motor lodge that they are in the process of updating. Room decor touches of baskets on the walls and beautiful throw pillows are super nice. The updated bathroom with wood paneling and a fresh shower stall and sink/mirror are very nice too. The free breakfast of a hot pocket ish type egg and ham, cinnamon roll and some delicious chia pudding was way better than the average free breakfast. All that being said, I still thought it was overpriced for what it was. The night before I had spent the same amount of money and stayed in the La Posada in Winslow that was a full suite with jetted tub, had big beautiful common areas to relax next to a fire or sit in the sun amongst cottonwoods and access to a incredible onsite restaurant. This was just a very small room that they packed 2 beds a chair and a tiny desk into. The TV wouldn't work as the internet signal wasn't strong enough to stream anything and of course, being a roadside motel, there are no common areas to relax in or any sort of restaurant. Social distanced or not. I heard there was a garden, but I didn't see it. I suppose compared to the other options in Blanding it was nicer, but I'm still not sure it's worth $148 for a night in an aesthetically dressed up roadside motel that allows pets. Staff was very friendly though. Big ups on that.

What a beautiful lodge - an oasis after a long drive! Our room was beautifully decorated - true southwest - and the bathroom had a sink that was a work of art. Breakfast included homemade blueberry scones and whole wheat cinnamon buns, all made right there! AND grapes from their own vines. The back patio invites relaxation!

We really enjoyed our stay at Stone Lizard Lodge. This roadside motel has had a great makeover, and is a charming place to base your exploration of this part of Utah. The owners and staff are warm, welcoming, helpful, and informative. The breakfast was delicious. Whether you are visiting Natural Bridges park, exploring Cedar Mesa, or just passing through, this is a great place to spend an evening.

Stone Lizard Lodge is locally owned and a great place to stay at an affordable price. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Most importantly, the staff was friendly and very helpful in attending to our needs. Excellent wi-fi and a healthy breakfast. We were very pleased with the accommodations and we thought the prices were very reasonable.

I loved this place the minute I had the best check-in experience ever and it only got better from there. The rooms are perfectly appointed with exactly the right touches. They thought of every detail including the single-use handmade (well, they look handmade) soaps that are not wrapped in plastic and are perfect for a couple of days. The bed was very comfortable and this little boutique motel gets all the things right that most major hotels struggle with (like coffee pots that are already plugged in and trash cans where you expect to find them). The complimentary breakfast was perfect (I highly recommend the local sourdough bread from Monticello). The motel is situated at a busy intersection , so if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. Overall, it was exactly the kind of place I love to stay and I'll be back every chance I get.

Location: One-half block from intersection of Main and Central. Within easy walking distance of a few places to eat.

Property: Motel style with doors facing gravel parking lot. Many hanging and potted plants. Large garden area in back with seating. Needs landscaping, e.g. mow lawn, trim trees, kill weeds. There is no pool, business center or fitness room.

Room: For three days we had a King. Very nicely furnished. Very clean. Mattress was soft and spongy. The room was built before king size beds, desks, microwave and refer requirements. Refer and microwave in closet severely reducing hanging space. Bathroom cramped. Knees are under sink while sitting on the toilet.

The King Deluxe might be more spacious.

For three days had Executive Suite. It is large with living room and full kitchen. Kitchen is stocked with flatware and dishes. Two sinks. Two bedrooms with double beds. If you want a King bed this is not for you. Exquisitely furnished.

Price: King=$134, Executive Suite=$185.

Breakfast: Good variety to choose from. Coffee and breakfast not available until 7 AM. Breakfast room has one long narrow table. If many are seated, the person in front and beside you are very close. There is seating available in the garden area.

Staff: The staff is friendly and helpful

We stopped here on our travels after seeing the reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a comfortable room with plenty of amenities and enjoyed a breakfast that goes way beyond anything a hotel has to offer. We also had the option to make our little patio private by closing the beautiful and unique gate.
