The office is constantly closed with a piece of paper indicating the phone number to call. I was told that breakfast is 8-10 in the office. In the morning I was in a hurry and could not check-out or eat breakfast because I was waiting half an hour in front of the office (outside of the building, it was pretty cold) and called the number several times. No one picked up the phone or answer any of my messages. After I called the number so many times someone turned off the phone and no one ever contacted me from the motel. I didn't eat breakfast (this was the reason for choosing this property, it was not the cheapest), I wasted a lot of time waiting outside the office. I think it is unacceptable and the personnel was extremely rude not to answer my phone or messages and did not come at all to the office. I left the card in the room and still did not hear even a "sorry" from them. Never again!…
We checked website and noted there was a pool when we asked, they said it was locked my friend asked if there was a key and was told no. We couldn’t get a room on ground floor so the Seniors has to carry bags up a dangerous set of stairs. There was no common space and we traveled with another couple so we sat on the bed and kept the door open to have some circulation. We walked around the place and noticed a porch in another section was collapsing. Our porch had one dip. When was the last inspection? Check photos to get a flavor of the view Not to be completely negative, the breakfast was nice and area clean Commented on the condition and was told staff has been complaining. They are waiting for someone to get hurt.
The Gateway Inn was convenient for me going through from Arches National Park on to Monument Valley. The reception staff were friendly and my room was clean but the hotel was very tired and in need of some modernisation. I thought it was quite expensive for the price ($80) compared with other chain motels I stayed in. There was only wifi at the main reception area. The continental breakfast was a free for all with no system or queuing. I had to wait quite a while for more bread to be brought out, but I guess you can't complain too much when it is complimentary.
Do NOT stay at this outdated, rundown hotel. Everything about it is deplorable, especially for the price. We chose this hotel because it was the only one in town with a pool. The whole place needs a complete renovation. There was hardly anything for breakfast because the Sysco truck hadn’t come in yet. I wouldn’t have eaten there anyway. Couldn’t wait to get out of this place. Travel on down the road to Bluff, Utah and stay there.
This is definitely not a hotel, but more like a worn and dirty motel with cheap beds, dirty floors and thin and worn towels and linnens. We were greeted by a sweet lady when we checked in and the staff was in general easy to deal with but we kept our requests simple. The room was clean enough but it's hard to get over how worn everything is. There was a very simple breakfast available in the morning which was set up in a dark corner of the lobby. You could toast sliced bread or bagels and you had the option of cream cheese or peanut butter. The room could have used a fridge!
