We picked this place because we could get a cabin/cottage to ourselves. Large bedroom and bathroom, gas fireplace (which was nice during the cold front), and a lovely view off the balcony. Breakfast delivered on a tray - and it was delicious each day! We particularly enjoyed the egg dishes and various fresh fruit cups. Turn down service of wine and a dessert was an added nice touch after a day of hiking, ziplining, and exploring. No kitchen but we could keep leftovers and drinks in the small fridge. Pretty quiet overall, with a walking trail on the property and a pool area. We would definitely stay here again.
First, the Blair House Inn is nestled in the Wimberly Hill Country and the views are spectacular. The sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking form the porch of our cabin. The cabin was spacious and well appointed. Chris and Lois were wonderful hosts and great fun to talk to. I had a special food request for the Saturday evening dinner which the chef met and never made me feel like an afterthought to the planned menu: in fact, it was the best vegan meal I have ever had! We took advantage of the onsite spas services and left feeling better than either of us had in a long time. If you are looking for a romantic getaway to reconnect, I can think of no other place you will want to go. We can't wait to get back there this Spring. Thanks, y'all, for a great time!
Cozy B&B with hospitable owners and some nice touches in the room such as candles and nightly turn down service with homemade sweets. The beds are comfortable and the shower is strong and hot. The breakfast is average.
We planned a short weekend getaway to Wimberly, TX to celebrate our 2nd year Wedding Anniversary. Came across great reviews for Blair House Inn and decided to give it a try. What caught my attention about this place was all of the comments about how delicious the breakfast was and the website even advertises that it is a 3 course meal prepared by their "chef".. Being a foodie myself, I could not pass this up. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our stay and left disappointed. The room we booked was the El Paso suite. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever stayed on and my neck started to hurt after the first night because the pillows were so flat. The breakfast prepared during our first morning was just "okay" and let me tell you it was not not three courses. You get a fruit cup (first course), a baked bread item (2nd course) and then the main entree. Please do not advertise 3 courses when it is not. I was looking forward to breakfast on our second day because it was supposed to be Bananas Foster French Toast. If you are not familiar with Bananas Foster, it is basically caramelized bananas flamed with rum/or some sort of alcohol. What they served us was two pieces of stale tasteless bread topped with bananas tossed in yogurt. This was a disgrace coming from a place that claims to have "chefs" on staff. I am in no way being pretentious, I just want what is being advertised. My advice: If you cannot serve it right, take it off the menu. The only thing I did enjoy was the refreshing pool. The water was always cold but just needed more shade for relaxing. Overall, I would say save your money and go somewhere else.…
We planned a quick getaway with another couple and found this charming hideout in the hill country. Breakfast was tastefully prepared. The dinner was magnificently matched with wine. the accommodations (San Miguel Cottage) were great. The property was well maintained.
