Stayed at the Aycock Crews House in order to photograph the East Columbia area for Wikipedia. The house is nestled in the East Columbia Historic District along with other historic homes. It is beautifully restored with a nice porch and beautiful backyard. Shelly and Flem are wonderful hosts. Shelly was kind enough to give me a tour of the East... More

The East Columbia, Texas National Historic District is a most interesting area with many of the homes being designated as Historic. It's right on the Brazos River and is great for those with interest in Texas history or other special interests like birding. The Aycock Crews House is an great B & B. It has 3 bed rooms available, plus... More

What a wonderful place to spend our 10 year anniversary! When we entered the beautiful house, we were greeted by Sheryl, the owner of the property. She welcomed us like we were family. It was a pleasure to hear about the history of the house and the area. The antiques all over the house were spectacular. Once we got settled... More

What a wonderful place to stay! This historic home has been meticulously restored and decorated to create a great experience. Wait until you taste the breakfast Sheryl makes in the morning. All I can say is Wow! Then after your yummy meal the history Flem will share with you is so fascinating. Just a terrific couple that go out of... More

Rich Texas history brought my husband and I to the area. Staying in the Aycock Crews House just added to the experience. The Captain's Room, which is the master bedroom upstairs, proved to be heavenly. The jacuzzi tub with hand-held shower was so relaxing and the double sinks allowed my husband and I to be able to spread out. The... More

great place to stay, quiet, historical, wonderfully furnished, very clean and the breakfast is fabulous! Our daughters wedding reception was here outside under the pavilion. Due to crazy south Texas weather, this day was under a flash flood.....the owners were more than helpful and made accomadations to make sure we all stayed dry as possible. The location of the house... More

This place is just perfect. My husband and I (from the Netherlands but live in Houston) wanted to escape the city for a weekend and found this wonderful house in this peaceful area. Just grap a book and land on the porch and watch the animals and birds playing in the garden. Flem and Sheryl are the best and their... More

The best place where we have stayed this year during our vacations! The rooms were clean beautiful furnished and with spectaculair views on the magnificent gardens (with owls, woodpeckers, squirrels and other animale). Close to the river and surrounded by beautiful other Victorian houses. And last but certainly not least: the owners were very friendly, with excellent breakfast in the... More

I had never heard of this "first capitol of Texas" until this recent trip. The owners, Flem & Sheryl, live next door and you'll never meet a more interesting couple. Flem is president of the local historical foundation which maintains this incredible street of historic homes that was the most bustling trading community at the time of the Texas War... More

My wife and I, along with our baby, stayed at this B&B while attending a wedding hosted at this same location. We stayed in the largest suite and it was QUITE Large! In fact, everything about the Aycock Crews house is spacious, rich with detail and history. I really felt as though I had been transported back in time to... More
