Thank you Doug and Jennifer Bosch for sharing your lovely property with us; I know that this is a labor of love. We enjoyed a wonderful weekend with you in hacienda del lago. Now in the middle of a pandemic we sure wish you were open during the summer! Despite the heat, yours would be a wonderful and safe escape.

My wife and I have visited the Restaurant at Dos Brisas twice before for special occasions. We decided to stay the night in one of the Casitas on the property this time. What an amazing experience. The staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Upon check-in we participated in a Wine Tasting Class with Heath, the bartender at the restaurant. Heath turned out to be one of the highlights of the stay as we encountered him a time or two later during and after our dinner. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and informative about wine, spirits, and food. We loved the class and the tips he gave regarding drinks and restaurants. The property is beautiful. The rooms are stylish, comfortable, and stocked with all you can need for the stay. You have access to a golf cart during your stay that you can drive around the premises. Our "package" included a dinner at the restaurant as well as a breakfast delivered to our room the next morning. Both were superb. The chef uses the freshest ingredients to create some wonderful plates and the service is always wonderful. We finished off our stay with a morning horseback ride with Mark. Thank you to him and Chico for setting us up. The ride circled the property and was a relaxing, peaceful way to start the morning. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about our stay other than I wish it had been longer. While we selected the wine class and horseback ride, there are a number of activities available to guests. I highly recommend a stay, and of course a dinner at the only Forbes 5-Star Restaurant in Texas.

A really nice, elegant lunch to celebrate with my elderly mother. Took my mother here for a lunch splurge since we were doing a staycation in the area. The grounds are beautiful and if the weather is nice I recommend eating on their patio. This is a very fine restaurant, but jeans are ok. Service was exceptional - elegant which my mom really loved (the little stool for her purse was a nice touch). My wife and I usually eschew the price fixe type stuff and for lunch it seemed steep - but it was well worth it. I ordered their CVS cocktail (like an Old Fashioned but with Earl Grey tea that comes in a chilled teapot). There was a nice little amuse buche. I got the risotto, my wife the red fish and my mother the wagyu steak. All were amazing. The carrot veloute' was light and smooth but very tasty. Sadly showing no imagination we all got the chocolate dessert. Amazing good. I had espresso with mine and that was very good as well. It is a drive from Houston but well worth it.

We confirm the comments of others. Dos Brisas is a gem in every aspect, accommodation, cuisine, facilities and staff. From the moment Denise greeted us upon arrival to Naomi's farewell at departure, the staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful. Wish we could list all the staff who were so delightful to encounter. Chef Zach Ladwig was very personable in discussing certain aspects of the menu. Dr. Steve, who manages the farm, was a wealth of fascinating info as we toured his greenhouse and the various plots. This is a high tech farm from the computer controlled greenhouse down to the automatic door on the chickens' trailer. We recommend taking the farm tour upon arrival for the perspective provided on the some of the menu items direct from the farm. The GM, Jonathan Cartwright, could not have been more gracious and informative. Obviously, he sets positive tone of the entire operation. Needless to say Dos Brisas is highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had a casita which had ample space for two. The larger haciendas have a separate sitting area.
