My husband and I just returned from a 3-night stay at the Hilton in Waco. The location was perfect. It is right beside the Brazos River trail and suspension bridge. Numerous restaurants across the street and walking distance to the Silos. Rooms are dated but clean. All of the positives didn't make up for how the staff treated us at breakfast. We were greeted by the breakfast hostess and told we had a complimentary breakfast, and we could help ourselves. We got in line for the breakfast buffet and hostess immediately pulled us out of line and said that was not the complimentary breakfast that we were eligible for. She took us to a different area and said we could only eat the items on the table in front of us. There were small boxes of cereal and yogurt cups along with small cartoons of milk for the cereal. Those were the only items on the table. She spoke to us in a very demeaning tone. She then told us if we wanted any hot items, she would be happy to bill our room $18 per person. My husband picked up a box of cereal and asked her for a bowl for his cereal and she told him that they do not supply bowls for the cereal that the carton is to be used as the bowl. We left and had an excellent breakfast a crossed the street. We did not return to the restaurant or bar during our stay. My husband was humiliated by the hostess in front of the other hotel guests. Needless to say we will never return. …
Lovely stay in corner king room with view of Brazos River. Pool was great, lots of breeze and shade so we weren’t cooking in the hot summer temps. Breakfast was expensive and the only time the restaurant was open due to COVID but plenty of other places to eat within walking distance.
To me, expensive but so very convenient. I will stay again because of the convenience—not the kinda funky issues with my room like the toilet that didn’t really flush all that well or the bathroom sink that took several minutes to drain. Not the towel rack pulling out of the wall or even the hot water knob that was wiggling loose. Nope, it is the convenience combined with how generally clean and safe it felt. Bonus, never encountered any weird smells or excessive noise and staff was very professional and kind to me.
The room was very nice with a great bed. Quiet during the night but workers on another floor doing remodeling started banging hammers and running power tools about 830am on a morning I had planned to sleep in for awhile. Plenty of parking and easy to find just off of I-35.
The Hilton Waco has not been updated any in the past 10 years. It is an older property with basic, older furnishings. Rooms are average size and bathrooms are extremely tiny. The shower was warm but not hot. Check in was very slow with only one person working the desk at peak check in time (Saturday afternoon). The property is in a good location for a walk to shops and cafes.
All in all decent visit, would stay again. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and updated, the guest rooms however…EXTREMELY dated and in need of major renovation. I did not have any issues with my room but several of my employees complained of mold and ants. So many ants to the point my employee had to get a new room. My other issue…the restaurant food was actually pretty decent BUT the service was the absolute WORST! One young lady (server) stayed on a personal video call the entire time our party was in the dining room and she was bringing out food (which we waited over an hour for). Instead of having the awareness to leave her phone down in the corner, she was more concerned about keeping her personal video call connected. Super unprofessional. Additionally, both nights our group dined in, we had to ask for several items over and over, and specific dietary requests were ignored. I have a colleague who does not eat pork, yet the dish still came out and she was told after the fact the dishes are premade and the pork couldn’t be removed. Unacceptable. All in all…not a horrible stay, but next time I’m in town, it will not necessarily be my first choice.…
My stay was fine and I have stayed here before. I was upgraded to a large corner Room. While the room comfortable it could be cleaner and is really dated and needs a renovation BADLY. It looks old and tired. I’m surprised that Hilton allows this. Front Desk staff could be a lot more helpful and pleasant.
This is a very nice Hilton hotel. It’s a good value for the money my room was clean and everything was in good condition and worked perfectly. Lots of toiletries. Food was good in the restaurant and catering. Nice meeting rooms I would recommend this hotel for meetings. It’s right on the river and even side rooms. All have a view of the river. Corner Rooms are really nice.
I had booked a on night stay for 12/22 at the Hilton Waco, using some reward points that I had to book an approx $125 room. Due to an unexpected gas leak issue, the hotel was closed to guests on that day (and the next day as well). I had to go to another hotel (and pay there). I understand issues that come up that the hotel cannot control, but they should have been able to control taking payments for rooms that they could not provide. I have made numerous calls to the hotel to resolve this - they have been less than helpful to re-imburse the travel service so that I can get my points refunded. It has been 3 weeks and I suspect that Hilton will just keep these funds - for providing nothing. It is inexcusable for a large hotel chain to react to this issue like a government run operation.…
We were in Waco for a high school basketball tournament and Hilton was the host hotel. The staff was friendly and professional and very helpful. The property was beautifully maintained and the hotel was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The location was perfect!
