We had such a wonderful Valentine’s weekend get-away at this charming B&B located blocks from everything. We arrived around 7 pm after innkeepers left and everything was arranged for us to let ourselves in and make ourselves at home. Easy parking and access, beautiful natural gardens, sitting areas, koi pond, and gorgeous fountains. There was a couple in the hot tub that told us it was amazing!
Our suite, William Woldert, was on the main floor and ohhh so comfy! It was chilly so we lit the gas fireplace which was one of our favorite features. Our queen size bed had freshly ironed cotton sheets (WOW!). The bathroom was roomy with plenty of storage. Standing shower and pedestal sink. Plenty of hot water, shampoo and soap. I appreciated the facial wipes as I’d forgotten mine.
Closet space and hangers were plentiful as were dresser drawer space. Very small and awkwardly mounted TV near the bathroom door, but it works just fine and we were grateful for a B&B with a TV!!
We felt so “at home” here! The innkeepers, Barb and Mike, knock themselves out making sure you have all you need. Sharing the refrigerator in the hall works perfectly, water cooler had hot water and plenty of various tea bags, coffee, Keurig maker, treats. No ice, but innkeepers are happy to fill an ice bucket upon request.
Let’s talk about BREAKFAST!!! Presentation was beautiful in the formal dining room. Started with a delightful cup of fruit with a dollop of yogurt. Main course the first morning was a large flakey pastry filled with deliciousness! Almost like an omelet inside?? There were homemade muffins and biscuits and a green salad as well. Coffee, orange juice, water. You will skip lunch!
The next morning was the same lovely fruit, AMAZING bacon and ham quiche with homemade muffins and a side green salad topped with fresh fruit.
We left the Manor today with two new friends we felt we’d known all our lives, our innkeepers Barb and Mike!! There was much more we wanted to do and see in Tyler and cannot wait to go back.

Awwww...Kathy, You fill our hearts with the joy of knowing you enjoyed your stay! Side note: we are also not satisfied with that awkward TV installation and will be perfecting that this week. We very much appreciate our return guests and look forward to any future visits that you and Randy bless us with.

This was our first visit to Tyler, in North East TX and we were glad to choose this historic house to stay during our 3 days visit. The room we stayed in was clean and functional, although a bit small for 2 people, it is the Robert Spence Jr room. We gave 4.5 stars for the room but 5 stars to Barbara & Mike for their hospitality. Barb is an excellent cook and we enjoyed so much the friendly and cozy time each morning when we ate breakfast, chatted and shared our activities with them and other guests. We also liked the environment, seems like the house locates in a historic district where there are sections of red brick roads, at night we felt secure to park inside a locked gate. If you like a warm and friendly place with an air of antique past, this place and their hosts are for you. as for us we would come back to Woldert-Spence Manor for our next visit but want to try another larger room. Thank you Barbara and Mike!

We enjoyed our stay at the Woldert-Spence Manor. The inn features antique furniture with tasteful Victorian style decor. There are porches and a deck to relax outside overlooking a shaded and nicely landscaped garden area. The breakfast is just wonderful! Loads of creativity in the presentation and tastes so good! The hosts, Mike and Barbara, are very friendly and willing to accommodate the needs and desires of their guests in any way they possibly can. A highlight is that they are willing to sit down with guests at breakfast enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation. Very pleasant experience.

Lori and Mark - It was certainly a pleasure to share our home with you. One of our most enjoyable components of hosting is engaging in fellowship and getting to know our guests on a personal level. Come stay with us again and enjoy more of what Tyler has to offer...it really is a gem of a city!

Mike and Barbara were great hosts from start to finish, the Woldert-Spence Manor is an amazing place with a very interesting history.

Breakfast was made fresh each morning by Barbara and we had a great time chatting about our mutual shared travels and a lot more.

Room was large and spacious and the bed very comfortable.

There were plenty of complimentary tea and coffee available in the dining room all day long with some nice food treats as well. The gated parking area worked well and the digital lock access to the house and room also worked very well.

Location was ideal for all that Tyler has to offer along with the surrounding area, and only a five minute drive to the excellent rose gardens, plus plenty of nice food outlets a short drive away.

The Woldert-Spence Manor is a rare 5 star experience not to be missed if you are in the area.

10 out of 10 for this place and have already recommended it to our Texas friends.

We spent one night in this beautifully furnished 1859 home in the Elizabeth Spence room. Barb and Mike were lovely hosts, and Barb prepared an especially yummy breakfast. When we arrived, and Mike saw how I was hobbling with a bad leg (knee issues), he promptly offered to take my bag up the stairs. And for that I was especially appreciative. If you enjoy old homes and a quiet and comfortable experience, no reason to stay anywhere else. If we return to Tyler, no question where we would spend the night.

My husband and I had a lovely couple of days, staying at this B&B in Tyler. Barbara made us feel very welcome & was a true hostess. Barbara cooked the most amazing breakfasts, that kept us going strong everyday, as we spent our time hiking the Tyler State Park & exploring the Tyler Rose gardens.

Came to town for a wedding and had a lovely stay at the Manor. It was nice and quite. The breakfast so very filling and delicious with a choice of drinks. If you do book a room with extras make sure to get conformation before you get there. It can be very disappointing to find out the order didn't go through. They're the nicest loving couple, that make you feel like you've come home!

We were visiting family from Mineola during our trip. This is a big beautiful old home. Our room was comfy and cozy and stocked with some snacks and drinks. The InnKeepers, Barbara and Mike, were welcoming and friendly and truly made our stay a pleasure. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of thought put into it. Fancy trappings everywhere. A coffee and tea station with hot and cold water was nice to enjoy during the day. Amazing history as well. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast.
Kindest Regards,
Tim and Mimi Kennedy
