This was our second stay at the Casitas and I wrote a lengthy review upon our first visit in January 2022. The Casitas are still a very good choice of accommodations when visiting Big Bend NP. The room is large, well-appointed and clean. The grounds are immaculate with excellent touches like the hot tub and fire pit. The only things I did not like were the bed (too soft for my liking) and the tiny shower (which I commented on last time.) Despite those two (small) complaints, I will definitely stay there again on our next visit to BBNP.

The casita is well-appointed with nice furniture, comfy beds, nice bathroom with shower, and our rocking chairs on the back porch were great to hang out on any time of day. During the day there are many birds eating seeds, bugs, nectar and our first night, we were greeted by a small friendly bat when we first arrived and turned the light on and opened the door to the porch. We startled each other at first and then she went back to her business collecting nectar and catching bugs with her buddies as we relaxed with a cold beer and watched from our rocking chairs on the porch. The beautifully groomed grounds with native plants and shrubs were expertly cared for and there was a booklet in our casita with photos and names describing the plants on the grounds. There was also an awesome swimming pool. Very clean and nice comfy pool furniture. we didn't use the outdoor grills and outdoor picnic area, but it was very nice too. The casitas cost a little more than we usually spend on lodging, but they were well worth it and not over-priced for the value and quality. The casitas are also very close to Terlingua and several restaurants in the area and of course the National Park. There is a very nice grocery store around the corner and a nice liquor store within walking distance. The owners and management are very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed three nights here as our home base to explore the area. It's just about equal distance between the national and state parks, with a very short drive into "old" Terlingua. The staff was always friendly during check-in, check-out, and grabbing a tea to go. Room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Little touches are appreciated, like labels on the light switches and reading lights on each bed. The grounds were immaculately kept, and we even found some UV fluorescent rocks in the driveway. I'm also very grateful that the owners had the foresight to invest in a generator, especially when the power went out one freezing night - but we stayed warm with backup electricity. We will definitely stay here again!

Just finished another great stay at Big Bend Casitas. I’ve been coming here for many years and have never been disappointed. Great accommodations and excellent service. The coffee shop is a big hit with the family. The easy access to the National and state parks makes this a prime spot to rest your tired legs after a day of adventures.

This place is so beautiful and quiet. There are only 12 units which is nice. The inside is exactly as described and had everything we could need. There is a microwave, coffee pot including coffee and small fridge inside.. The beds were very comfortable with a nice shower. The check in process was so easy and everyone we encountered at Far Flung were so nice and personable. They will even clean daily if you need it but we chose not to. We were there for 3 nights so it was not needed. There is an outdoor fire pit that is on every night but we chose to sit on our back porch in the rocking chairs to see the beautiful star lit nights. This is a perfect place to stay especially when visiting Big Bend National Park.

I cannot say enough about the great experience that I had at paddling School. I'm 65-year-old man that's been wanting to do this for 45 years. Blue my instructor totally professional had me doing stuff I didn't expect to do. I went back for class 2 and I had Blue as an instructor again and I do not believe I will ever use another instructor I cannot say enough great things about this instructor. I now consider myself an official River rat. Thanks Blue.

Amazing Experience! We really enjoyed our stay here. The mattresses were very comfy, which is rare for most hotels, the A/C was cold on hot days, the place was immaculately clean, and it was very quiet there! There’s a great little coffee shop on site to help start your day, and we loved sitting out on the porch at sunset each night enjoying a beverage in the rocking chairs. We chose the 3 hour Jeep tour on private lands, which was awesome, and if we had one more full day, we would have taken the 6 hour SUV tour through the park too. We would absolutely recommend staying here and doing their tours!

I spent 4 days and 3 nights on the Rio Grande in Big Bend National Park with four guides from Far Flung Outdoor Center. They were great. They knew the plants, animals and stories of the area. Nice tents and dry bags supplied and three excellent meals a day.

The Casitas at Far Flung are perfect for a visit to Big Bend. You are in the National Park within 5 minutes. The casita has a kitchenette for eating breakfast and making lunches. The two queen beds are very comfortable and love the rocking chairs on the porch facing a lovely desert courtyard. The owners have thought of everything that you would need. Highly Recommend for couples or families!!

Perfect place to stay for our visit to Big Bend National Park. Comfortable, charming, and friendly. We loved using the grill and picnic tables in the courtyard for our supper, and the coffee shop served delicious brew. The back porch of our casita gave us a lovely view of the sunset.
