It's hard to add anything to all the 5-star reviews for this place except to say that it met all of our high expectations. Our Casita #5 was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and with most everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen furnishings are only sufficient for doing basic things, but I did really enjoy fixing our eggs in the early morning darkness on the side-burner on the well-lit outdoor gas grill while frying Canadian bacon on the blackstone griddle. This was a perfect base for exploring Big Bend, the ghost town, and the Lajitas area. Keep in mind when planning to visit that the popular fire pit is used only seasonally and was closed during our stay in early October.
My wife and I spent 3 days and 2 nights at Big Bend Casitas and could not have been more pleased with the hospitality and our accommodations. The casita was spacious and offered everything we could have needed. We especially enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch while reading or star gazing. It is located on the east side of Terlingua and near the west entrance of Big Bend National Park, making it ideally located for exploring the park or eating out. They have a great selection of souvenirs in their store and Far Flung Outdoor Center offers many exciting outdoor activities. We could not recommend it more highly if you are considering a trip to the Big Bend area.
My husband and I stayed at the Big Bend Casitas for two (2) nights and it was the perfect place to stay in Terlingua. Close to everything but yet you feel so remote and disconnected from the world. The facilities were very clean and offered everything we could possibly need. I'm so glad we decided to book our stay here. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. We will definitely be back.
Perfectly situated close to west entrance of Big Bend National Park. Comfortable and well kept with all the necessary amenities. And now with a swimming pool to cool off in the late spring and summer days. A beautiful oasis in the desert with trees, plants and grass providing habitat for birds and native wildlife and magnificent views of the mountains and night sky!!!!
We recently spent two nights in the Casitas, on a recent trip to Terlingua / Big Bend National Park. I had not stayed here previously, but decided to give it a shot, based on the positive reviews. Overall, the property exceeded our expectations. The casitas were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed spending evenings on the patio in the rocking chairs watching the sunset. Would highly recommend, and will gladly stay here again on future trips to Terlingua.
