When visiting Big Bend National Park, we always stay at Chisos Mining Company cabins, instead of motel. This is good accommodation for the budget and CMCM has been in operation for a long time. The owner is very helpful with booking and maintenance, if necessary. The cabins, small and large, are basic accommodations with all beds and kitchen (equipped) in... More

This is a good spot for the budget traveler. We had one room with one bed and a nightstand that was $50. We also rented a cabin that slept 5 and had a kitchen it that was $100 a night. There is no TV, no coffee pot, etc.- it is a place to sleep and sit on the porch and... More

This time we had three cabins, #17, #19, and #20 for our group of 11 family members. We come down to Big Bend every year about this time of year and have a get together. As usual, the cabins were very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. This motel is very rustic and plain with no tv,... More

We stayed in the Santa Fe House in one of their "condos." We stayed here for four nights while visiting Big Bend National Park. First the good, It was spacious, had a fully equipped kitchen, great views as you're up on a hill and a nice porch. Now the bad, the bed in the master was horrible. They advertised new... More

This place is out in the middle of the Chihuahuan Desert for the sole purpose of providing lodging for Big Bend National Park. The rooms are more cabin than motel. You wont find a frig/microwave, hairdryer, etc. in the small cabins. The cabins attached to the lobby do have TVs with 4 channels, and heating/AC. The staff treat you like... More

The cabin was cozy. The beds were comfy and the climate control was efficient in performance and energy consumption. There were plenty of linens in the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen implements need some supplements. There were lots of tools but few flatware items.

Visited Big Bend and had reserved a small cabin with Chisos Mining Motel and upon arrival requested to switch to a Condo since there is no TV in the cabin. We stayed in Condo #40 (purple). The Condo was fully furnished with everything one needs to have a comfortable vacation and equipped with a TV. Only noise in all 24... More

We stayed here 9 years ago and so we knew this was where we wanted to stay. No frills, just the basics. We stayed in a motel room and parked right at our door. They also offer cabins and such. Brought our own little coffee maker. Air conditioner works great. Didn't turn on the tv. Magnificent view towards the National... More

Please, don't go. This is the most dirty hotel you've ever seen. I found hair on my sheets the first day, but the most incredible thing is that when I told that to the owner, she told me that "Everyone say that because you want to refund". Remember, don't book in this place, if you don't want to have very... More

My wife and I stayed in Chisos Mining Company cabin #19 for 3 days and used it as our home base for our daily excursions to Big Bend National Park. When we travel we try to stay at locally owned places that are basic, unique and a decent to good value. While this property was unique, we thought that it... More
