My husband and I stayed 2 nights (room 322) in February. Given the convenient, central location and this updated property we thought it was a very good value. On the plus side, the inside and out were neat, clean, and nicely updated. The in-room coffee was decent and I liked

We stayed one night while in SPI. Picked this hotel because it was one of a list we could get on points and we were not disappointed. Check in was easy and our room was ready early. The bed was comfy and the room had all the things we needed—- a fridge, a microwave, a little

One of the most modern and well thought out hotel rooms that I have stayed in recently. Rooms were exceptionally clean, roomy and had a ton of outlets. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and this was also one of the best breakfast buffets in recent stays. Will stay there

Rooms were nice and clean.., breakfast had a nice variety. Bathrooms were a little small and not much counter space. Had a problem with drain not draining and maintenance was there immediately to fix and never had sny more problems.

We don't have any specific shaded areas besides the umbrellas at the pool. If needed, we do provide a crib for the guest rooms.

The hotel is located on the beach side of Padre Blvd. The beach doesn't necessarily have a name but it's only about a 7 minute walk (0.2 miles). It is very suitable for young kids. There is limited public parking available the beach entrance also.

Hi there! The answer to your excellent question is "no." The beach cannot be seen at all from the Best Western Beachside Inn. A long block must be walked to get to the beach. Along the block are buildings. At the end of the block are tall buildings that block all sight of the beach. The way the building is turned longways, the beach cannot be seen even if there were no buildings. I thought that was an odd design to not face the rising or setting sun at all. Retired people from northern states who lived for months at the Best Western Beachside walked to and from the beach daily even in cold windy weather. The map makes it seem as if the beach can be seen but it cannot. Many people are disappointed when they arrive and discover that they cannot see the beach at all - so your question is a relevant one and will help many people. I enjoyed the remodeled hotel but if I wanted a truly walk out the door beachside experience, this would not be the hotel for that experience. The word "Beachside" might have been true 30 years ago before all the other buildings were built. This is more like two long city blocks walk to the beach. The Google Map photo is not to scale. Try Google Satellite to see a realistic photo. I hope this answer helps you make the best decision for your Padre Island visit.

There are fireworks every Friday night over the bay from May through September. Your travel dates are going to be perfect for visiting South Padre Island. You will be there just before the summer season and still enjoy the summer weather and activities without the crowds.

"No view on first floor off rooms. Laundry and ice on 2."
"We had first floor and second floor room, we liked the second floor room better. "
"Please remove the mattress protectors - they make a noise when you lay on them. Just one little detail."
"Could have more outside seating"
"I was on the east end of the 3rd floor, and it was very quiet. The only ice maker is in the front lobby, so no worry about that noise."
